Boo's Mom - I think what you are referring to really are stairs. They are used for emergencies. We had the good fortune to secure an upgrade to one of the PH Suites on Summit the day of embarkation on a previous cruise. Just aft of the hot tub is a set of stairs that go down to lower decks. The stairs are "railed in" and are used for emergencies.

(not the hot tub)... that goes down into the deck of the balcony?

How about some good bed and breakfasts?

I am a huge fan of the children's programs on Celebrity. My children are currently 14 and 10....and we have experience on Celebrity, Princess & RCI.

Celebrity's program is very organized.

And...they run a tight ship (no pun intended:p ), which is very important for me.

They may not have a lot of the physical stuff... that you may find on other lines....but they do very well with the kids.

They go on treasure hunts around the ship.

Behind the scenes tours.

...and a good job of bringing the age group of 12 - teens...together, as there is typically some hesitation there.

I have been pleased with the caliber of staff they hire as counselors.

In my experience, it is a well run program.

Is it worth the cost to head to Palanga for two hours?

Is there anything there besides the Amber Museum?

How long is the drive from Klaipeda to Palanga?

I found a company that will do a private tour....

Klaipeda 3 hrs

or

Klaipeda - Palanga 5 hrs.

Please advise.
