  1. So a follow up question...Anybody have experience with bringing soda on board going out of Manhattan?

Last year.( NYC terminal).I brought a 12 pack of seltzer, just tapped a luggage tag to it and porter took it..(though he did put it on a different cart than our luggage)..it did make it to the room..minus one can ...not sure if they were checking contents..or it busted..(as cardboard was a bit wet)..

  2. Just got off of the Jade which was our first NCL cruise since March of 2013 and they had two waitresses going around the Garden and Outdoor Cafes every morning singing "Good Morning Chef's Surprise! Would you like to try some! Blah, blah! Thank you! See you tomorrow! Have a nice day!" Something like that sung in tandum to guests tables one after the other after the other!:eek:If this is the norm am I the only one that hated it enough to complain about it? If this is new how do we make it stop?!!!

eek...reminds me of Carnival's singing/table dancing waiters.... (one of the things I really disliked about CCL)

  3. It was the Jewel, and I was on that first sailing following drydock that missed 36 hours and 1 1/2 ports. Hoping it doesn't happen again since we are also on the May 17 sailing. I am not worried though, prefer to be optimistic and won't let pessimism ruin my trip! :D

    Robin

Wasn't that fun Robin ?? (and they didn't even let me win in the casino:eek: geeze...the least they could have done was let me leave with a few extra bucks:o)

  4. My DH and I usually cruise together .Two years ago...I was offered a casino cruise by CAS...DH did not want to go...and I decided "why not"...so went on my own.....First time ever..cruising alone...and I loved it...:)

I really enjoyed the ability to do what I want ..when I want...met some nice people but also loved the idea that I was not obligated to do things with anyone if I did not want to......

All in all it was a great experience for me ..I needed a week of pampering and relaxation....and was proud of myself for going out of my comfort zone and traveling alone....

In the end, it's really all about what is important to the particular person. Somebody who chooses a suite isn't necessarily richer, snobbier, or more pretentious than somebody who elects an inside. By the same token, somebody who chooses an inside isn't cheaper or less refined than the person in the suite. It's just that each person has found the manner of travel that fits best for their priorities, needs, and circumstances. The great thing is that when it comes to cruising we can all find our niche and still cruise together. :)

    Well said :D
