  1. ".......across Mrs. Connell's roof, next door".

    Any relation to Neville Connell?

Yes. Neville was Director/Curator of the Barbados Museum in the 1950s and 60s.

His particular interest was fancy Victorian glassware, if I'm not mistaken.

Mrs. Connell next door was marr. to Col. Connell of the (then-)Barbados Regiment

Col. Connell's bro. was Sydney(married to Lorna, dau. Judith)

-they lived at the top of 4th. Ave.,Belleville, in a large house with tennis courts.

I used to roam their two-storey house as a young boy in the mid-1950's!!

    ..................

    Neville might be another bro.

He is definitely related, I've heard her speak of him.

  2. No. I can't match that. I've got churches & birds, but no birds in a church.

I do, however, have a Barbados pig! How about you?

Sorry no pigs...but I do regularly have Monkeys in my back garden(seriously!)

Here's one skipping across Mrs. Connell's roof, next door

And here's another one making his way along the top of the chain link fence at the bottom of my garden.

Sometimes they come to the window right here by my computer desk

and stare in the window...like ...any spare bananas?

  3. Anything of value has been put in the safe, or is on my person, and I've yet to lose anything.
It's almost worrying (not to me personally...) how many people are aware of a safe in the cabin

    - yet they don't or won't use it! --That's odd!

The cabin safe we had on Victory opened and closed with nothing more technical than a swipe of my credit card.

Now that's difficult stuff, huh?

Into the safe on a daily/Going Ashore basis went..

any spare cash, her bling, any extra cameras and/or lenses.

It's just amazing how much stuff can fit in there, man!

Why take a chance in today's wacky world?

  4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’ll be on the Explorer Of the Seas 15 March 2009. We will be in Barbados Sunday 22 March 2009.

    We have nothing planned.

Since this will be our fourth time to Barbados we were going to leisurely get off the EOS

and walk around Bridgetown for a little shopping. ===> Might be a few stores open

Before returning to the ship we want to stop in one of the bars and have a Banks Beer or two.

Is it true most if not all the shops are closed on Sunday? ===> Pretty much!

What about the bars (the Bridge House)?

    Shopping will be limited

but yes there may be a few stores open to accommodate the cruise ship people

particularly if there's more than just one ship in port, that day.

Don't think you'll have much luck with the bar thing, but you never know..

  5. The Trick is to get the Direct Link URL of your shot (-not the webpage it's on)

and that Direct Link is this...

    http://pictures.cruisecritic.com/data/526/medium/IMG_0977_Small_.JPG

it's located below your posted photo, among the small details..

and to assemble your photo-post on these discussion pages

by putting >...and[b] [color=Red] following it

If I put it all together like how it should go, it'll post the picture, not show you how

    but here goes anyway..
