1. Wow... All great suggestions! And I thank you, eroller, for sharing your research with me!

We booked a stern balcony as well (before the category change) because of the view, the protection from lots of wind on sea days, and most importantly, the potential for some good ol' fashioned rockin'! ;)

  2. I'm worried. All these posts point to something big on the horizon.

What do I mean by "big?"

Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy on the Dawn.

Based on the recent reports by Dawn passengers, it would be a Twinkie thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.

    That's a big Twinkie.

  3. Thanks a lot, Kevin! I thought you were going to write about how empty the Dawn was on your sailing.

DH is always on the road and I'm in this old house alone! Why do I read such things?

A friend of mine, a fellow CC'r, told me a story of how she saw a very famous ghost at a Calif. hotel. I didn't sleep well that night!

Last night, as a matter of fact, I dreamt that there were 3 women in my house. They knew I was sleeping so they were trying to be quiet. As I dreamt they were leaving, I said hello to them. At this point I was awake and looking into my bathroom, but I could still see them walking away. I was puzzled why they didn't speak to me, and then one turned around and looked at me... SHE COULDN'T TALK CUZ SHE WAS DEAD!!

    (That's kinda spooky, huh?)

  4. I'd say that while you can do this, it takes away part of its value. One of its benefits is that it decreases the amount you have to put down to hold a cabin. Not saying someone shouldn't do it, but if you know you will book ANOTHER NCL cruise, I'd save it for that.

You dare question my logic? ;)

I "hear" what you're saying, but the "value" really doesn't change.. you just owe more when it comes to final payment.. you're putting off the inevitable.. now if that's what you mean by "value," then I concur. :p

  5. You can get more then one? Would that count for separate cruises then? This is the easiest way to get a great deal! When we were on the Star we put $250 down on a future cruise ( at the time I think it was that you had 2 years to book and one year after to cruise but am not sure) and got $100 OBC. You just cannot go wrong if you plan to cruise NCL again. So explain about more then one. Could we have put $500 down and gotten $200 OBC on our next cruise?

In case Ms Belp is absent for awhile, I will answer you question. Yes, you can buy as many as you want. BUT each certificate is only good for one cabin per cruise. Does that answer you question?

Oops.. Sorry KerCar.. You are way ahead of me. :D

  6. Well, you're right, but not for the reason you think. ;) What I meant and was too lazy to make clear is. He is 3 days from his cruise and he is giddy. How long has he been giddy, which he described in his post as being "there." Does that make sense or am I still martini-impaired?

(No fair if I am, because I haven't had a single martini yet today. :()

I just busted myself.. I was looking at your ticker and not Al's... My ineptness is depressing... perfect reason for a cocktail.. lol

Sorry for the confusion.. carry on. :D

  7. Can't blame you for being confused. You should have seen all the permutations of this plan, but I'll condense. I wanted to cruise ON my birthday. For years, I have wanted to cruse to Greece for this particular birthday. But because I wanted all my friends and family to join me for this particular birthday, I compromised and picked a cruise that was easy to get to and a date that allowed for my nephew to come after school was out. Over the many months since it was all planned, every single friend and family member has developed an excellent (so excellent I can't be mad at them) excuse for not being able to come. :( But that's okay, it just means I celebrate my birthday for a full 2 months and won't have the usual family annoyances in beautiful Bermuda! So, I'm a happy gal!! :D

Well, Happy Birthday TODAY, MOODER!! Have a martini on me!

I'm glad you get 2 months for your bday.. DH always spoils me and says May is my bday month, and I get a full bday week too!

Today's the last day of May.. Maybe I can follow your lead and squeeze one more month out of him.. LOL

    Hugs, hon!! C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E !!

EDIT: Today's not the last day of MAY!!!! Sorry all you last minute rent/mortgage payers.. You can put your heart back in your chest!

  8. You are so effin hysterical, Zimo!! Thanks for a great laugh.

To add to this "serious" thread, during the talk for the "cruise deposit" promotion, there's free champagne. Hopefully that's not a duplicate posting. I just became bored with the rest of the comments after Zimo's. LOL

  9. Hi, A friend just told me about this site. I've read a few of the posts, and am not sure where I'm to sign up for the "meet and greet" I will be traveling with my husband, two daughters, their husbands and our 8 year old grandson.

We have all cruised with NCL, but were not aware of all this online activity! I'm sure you will let me know if I should be on another "thread"! By the way, 4 of us are from Oregon, 3 from Maryland.

Hi.. go back to the "Boards" page. Towards the middle, look for "Roll Calls." Click on that and look for you ship. Click on that and look for your cruise date. Hope that helps.

  10.
I booked a cruise directly through NCL last week. At the time of booking, I did NOT mention that I had $2,500 in gift certificates. I obtained a discount for being a Latitude members ($100 each) and another 15% discount for my husband being a veteran. Has anyone heard if there is any type of a conflict with the VA and Latitude discount AND the gift certificates. I am a little concerned NCL may say "you can't use your gift certificates AND Latitude and VA discounts." Anyone had anything like this occur?

    Marilyn
You'll be fine. You don't have to divulge you have cruise certificates at the time of booking, and like C breeze said, it's considered a form of payment, so it doesn't conflict with any promotional discounts you've received. :)
  11. Does anyone have a picture of cabin 607? We've been on Majesty before and we love the ship. We were in a CC on deck 7 before, but those were all gone and we sprung for a suite. Now I'm a little concerned about the "slanted walls" can anyone help?

Radio has some pictures he's taken here: http://public.fotki.com/Radio88/norwegian-majesty--/norwegian-majesty-cabins/

It looks like all he has are owner's suite pics.
