1.
Isn't the max 100 points per month? Even with bonus points for NCL purchases I don't think you can make it.

You might want to check out the upgrade possibilities for 200. I've never looked at them because we always went for the 500. Half a loaf is better than none.

    Good Luck,

    Charlie
No.. i don't think so.. we made 145 points last month and an additional 25 for the initial transaction fee for a total of 170. But, just in case, we will be looking into a suite.. we're at the highest level for a cabin at this point.
  2. In the past we could not use the certificates or any part of them for OBC. I doubt that they are going to change the policy now.

    Crap! Thanks Charlie.

We owe $1200 in Feb. for final payment. So I guess we'll pay $700 to NCL before December and hope to spend enough to make the $500 certificate to pay the balance.

  3. I haven't received my letter yet, but I just had this gut feeling...

Does anyone have a certificate in hand? Our next NCL cruise is booked for December 2009. Do the certificates specifically state that they must be used on a cruise taking place within a year, or used as payment for a cruise within a year?

I don't want to call and get them too soon, but I don't want to wait too late and miss out.

Yes. The certificate has a one year expiration date from the time you ask for it in which you are required to sail within that time. If you receive your certificate in Jan. of '09, you should be fine.

  4. NCL calls this night "dress up or not" night. That's what's so great about NCL. No need for the formal attire if that's not your thing. Like Gary said, your planner has no clue. I'd check out ncl.com and go to the FAQ section. You'll find a wealth of info. there... and here. I wouldn't count on much help from your planner. Congrats on your first cruise and welcome to cruise critic.

  5. Hi folks,

I have a question concerning getting 4 points for each hundred when charging a cruise.

I am charging my cruise through my TA. The charge on the card is from the TAs company, which means I will get 3 points for every $100 spent. Is there anyway of getting the extra point per $100 spent booking the cruise?

    Dan from Cape Cod

I'm not joking when I say I was just getting ready to post this same question.. (insert twilight zone music here.)

    Thanks Dandi and Thanks Sid.

  6. DH and I carried on 8 bottles on the Majesty 1/5/08. After the XRay, we were directed to the table. The steward was going to keep the wine locked up til after the cruise, but we explained we wanted to pay the $15 corkage fee. He was happy to oblige. They assume most people don't know that's allowed since it's an unspoken subject (If you call NCL, they will tell you bringing aboard wine is not allowed, same as pop.) We then took them to our cabin. No stickers were placed on our bottles and I'm not sure why. It could be Majesty doesn't do that, or that the steward neglected to do it.

We wanted the restaurants to have access to some of the wine, so we took 3 bottles with us to dinner the first night with our receipt. Three additional corkage fees showed up on our onboard expenses bill at the end of the cruise. Of course, Majesty was more than willing to take care of the mistake. Get stickers if they're available, keep your receipts, and really check your expenses, just in case. :)
