  1. Superior's are 145 sq. ft., regardless of whether it's an inside or OV. I've stayed in both and the larger one is plenty roomy. How many will be in one cabin? A cabin that can accommodate 4, is a bit larger.

I can only tell you our experiences on Majesty have been wonderful. I don't know if you'll like her or not, b/c I don't know you.

If size is really important, suites are available.

  2. Give a call to NCL & tell them you have waited since 12.31 for your upgrade cert which showed today & you book the cruise that you want to use the cert on. They will give you the upgrade cost.

    (I hope...)

OK.. will do, thanks. I'll report back their answer. I'm thinking I have to go through my TA, though, and I've left message for her. I doubt NCL will deal with me directly.

  3. Ugh! Received a "1 category upgrade" certificate TODAY, and upgraded my cabin YESTERDAY which cost me and extra $100 and I lost $150 OBC. Is it too late to apply the upgrade certificate so that I could at least get $50 back? I've got a call into my TA, but she's not very knowledgeable about how the certificates work. Any ideas?

  4. From my research, I'm 95% certain BOA has it wrong and it is Tryon. As MM pointed out above, however, with the company specific zip code, it shouldn't matter too much... unless I send fed ex as was planned... I may have to rethink that one!

Good luck - I guess it's now time to wait for replies...

Yeah, it's a pickle. The main headquarters of BOA is downtown and part of the building's front is on Tryon if that's any help. There's an Irish bar downtown that we go to, and it's on 6th and Tryon. Very near BOA headquarters. That zip is 28202.

  5. I promise you guys there is a Tyron. I've been in the Charlotte area for 5 years, and I was duped by thinking it was a misprint when I was trying to find an address. Tryon is a huge, major street in Charlotte, and Tyron is less known. If the rep. says Tyron, they know there could be confusion. What I don't get is why there's a misprint. But if you call them and they're telling you it's Tyron, then I guess I'd go with that. It's an easy mistake that can be made by whoever printed the address. Good luck!!

  6. I did find this on the internet - which seems to confirm the address BOA is giving out (do NOT write to this person - it was just found in a random search!). Oddly, none of the map sites has this address...

As an edit - a search for the "201 Tryon street" with the zip 28255, does come up with several entries for BOA... the Tyron street spelling only came up with one entry (not including a link to this thread!).

You know what.. I just remembered, there is a Tyron in Charlotte! So sorry.

  7. I just returned from the Pearl and I enjoyed the cruise very much. I never had to wait for dinner because I would call the reservation desk about 4 or 5 and request my choice of restaurant and time.

When someone plays a selfesh game of getting pagers from multiple restaurants and waiting for the first one to go off causes delays for other people. We have all seen the complaints from those who had to wait.

I didn't know NCL is taking reservations for MD's now.. unless you're a party of 8 or more.

And Zimo was just kidding around. You see, it was a funny thread about free things.. oh nevermind.. you either get it or you don't.

  8. I was spelled out the same street Tyron... I'm glad I found this before sending out fed ex tomorrow. I'll have to call BOA again to verify. If it really is Tryon, and reps are spelling the street name wrong to everyone, that is really, really bad. Imagine how ticked-off folks will be when then get their dispute resolution returned to sender - no such address!

Hi Lyman.. it is Tryon. I live in the area and am often on that street. It's a pretty major street in the Charlotte area. :)

  9. Points Stateroom Upgrades (must be in same catagory: Indside to Inside, Outside to Outside, Balcony to Balcony)

100 - One category upgrade for first person in stateroom

200 - One category upgrade for first and second person in stateroom

300 - Two category upgrade for first person and one category upgrade for second person in stateroom

400 - Two category upgrade for first and second person in stateroom

Umm.. How the heck does that one work?? LOL

  10. NCL sent out a letter saying that the January points would be wrong due to the switch and that it may be until your March statement before it is rectified.

By the way, BofA gave me that same Charlotte NC 28255 address. I've tried it with maps.google.com and maps.yahoo.com. Both give me 28202 as the zip.

It could be the post office or their processing building is in the 28202 zip code area.

  11. If I'm not mistaken' date=' AFTLOVER is talking about her RCI stockholder perks with the OBC. Although, it's hard to tell.[/font']

I'll take a stab at it. I think AFT is talking about the AMEX promo NCL ran that got her $250 OBC. Maybe she thinks it was a stockholder's decision.

I'm not sure what stock she's referring to that's losing her money.

  12. and see the new Worldpoints card with the ugly yellow-orange color, nothing like Dawn criuising on the ocean, which is the card & got again with the new account number on it since my 3 year card was stolen since it never made it to us.'

The Oct 1 letter stated that after your December closing date of Compass Rewards card, the account number would move over to Worldpoints & a new card would be mailed in December to you. Then they changed their story with the 90 day rule on changes of accounts. But I see folks complaining that their rewards didn't show. We shredded our old cards on our billing date, so we had no card for B of A after 12/10. No new card by 1/28, so I called to investigate & was told was sent in December, we never got it, so our long time account was closed & new one opened with card NDA to us.

But no info on the NCL account, even NCL tells me that B of A takes care of it & they know nothing. Their website makes it sound fabulous but no info. Worldpoints site I was told to visit makes it sound bogus as the Celebrity Worldpoints was. Same the RCCL and that was a VISA with hardly any perks. So we used our AMEX Blue instead. Stockholders got us OBC that was $250. But now we have a $8 stock that was a $3500 loser. $15 dividend is a joke.

I'm just wondering why no one else has received a new card and it's now February 2nd. Oh well.

I'm so burned-out right now on using point cards. Although I know it allows your money to work for you, it just feels so good to use a good ol' bank card for the time being.

We got the AMEX blue cash after all this started happening, so I think we'll start to use it and our Discover card. Your HH card sounds like a good one too.

  13. You definately have no idea what you are insulting me over. Read the 10/1/08 letter about Worldpoints & see the new cards all are getting with Compass Rewards account # moved over to thhe new ones.sult.

No anwwer? Just posted your insult which is not to be posted here.

Thank you for correcting me. That was the point of my post.

I still don't understand what you're talking about. Maybe you're right that we are to receive new cards. I don't remember reading that on the 10/1 letter, but I don't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.

The website states that we'll be continuing to use our current card as usual, with no "disruptions."

Why would they be sending you a card and no one else? That's why I believe you assumed you were going to get one, which prodded the rep to assume one had been sent. Let's face it, BofA reps seem pretty clueless sometimes.

Perhaps my post was a bit sardonic, but I was annoyed that the information you posted probably caused many people to think their card is lost in the mail too. All I could do was assume what happened since you hadn't come back to explain.

I already admitted what "assumptions" can cause. Have a nice weekend.

    Oh, and thanks Orange. ;)

  14. What was your reason for requesting a new card? Are they considering this a new account (getting you $50 OBC) or just a replacement card?

I've inquired to AFT about this too, lum. I've gotten no answer as to why AFT has received a new card. My assumption is that she assumed she would get a new card, and the BofA rep she spoke with didn't see a new card on her account so the rep assumed that the card was mailed to the wrong address. The phantom card never existed. At that point, AFT's old number, assumed to be compromised, was terminated resulting in a new card with a new number being mailed to her by FedEx, no less. See what happens when we all assume??

Maybe she'll come back and correct me where I'm wrong. :D

  15. Great gal I luckily got, who looked up my account. She sees my account was closed on 12/15 and reopened as Worldpoints on 12/20 with my card sent to me. I tell her I have no card, I shredded my Compass Rewards when they told me that 12/10 billing date is the end of it. Over a month with no B of A card. So she is Next Day Airing me a new card with new account # since whomever may have taken what was sent to me, but it is CLOSED so no one can use it. I told her I hope the jerk tries to use it so the Police get him/her. She agreed that they pay a nice reward to the clerk who gets it.

So by Friday I will have my new card & info on it. No mail today due to the snow says the Post Office. Amazing my driveway was cleared of 2 feet of snow as was steps for the poor replacement guy who shows after 5PM.

Um, What?? We're getting new cards? That's funny, cos I sure haven't gotten one. Has anyone else?

  16. Hi,

Didn't make enough points for the $500 off, so am getting upgrade certificates. I was wondering. In order to use the certificates, so I have to pay the rest of the cruise with the NCL card?

    Thx!

Absolutely not. Use any card you wish.

  17. Take a breath, dear friend. I know this is a huge mess. What I question is the 250 pt. certificate. There is no such thing! The only certificates NCL/BOA offer are in 100 and 500 increments. I remember reading that if you don't have enough points to make a certificate, like 89, they do not roll over to the new card. Can someone please confirm that information?

My feeling at this point is there are a lot of operators on both NCL and BOA's end that have no clue of what they're talking about and are pulling these ridiculous conclusions out of their a**.

  18. I was looking over that NcL cc application that is shown on ncl.com. It says after 1st transaction you will receive 5,000 points.

If we who are converting from compass to wp get those 5,000 point with OUR 1st transaction with the worldpoints program, then I plan on making at least a nominal charge on my card just to get the 5000 pnts.

5,000 points translates to $50 OBC according to the worldpoints info on ncl.

I will take it before I say bye bye.:D

I've asked about that statement of "5,000 points for first purchase" in this thread. The person that answered said it's only for NEW applicants. Is it your impression that it pertains to all of us who've had the compass card?

  19. Question: I know the number I should call to get my cruise certificate is on the back of the card, right? I have to order mine soon because my final payment is due 2/2/09. If someone has a better number, please share it with me.

Also, we use a TA, so should I be mailing the certificate to my TA, or directly to NCL?

My statement date is tomorrow, and I'd like to get the ball rolling asap. Thanks.
