We did the blue line to the centre of the city, volunteers were very helpful and wonderful. We even walked to the golden zone alone the waterfront. First of the ship we did the brewery tour, walked to the brewery, got in early, then walked back towards the ship, where we joined the blue line. Everyone (Canadians) snowbirds were wonderful. We did feel safe everywhere we went.
It for us was a safe as any big city in Canada or the U.S.

We just returned from a Mexican cruise, you can walk to downtown P.V. just cross the big street outside the port to the other side and follow the water was about 1k walk. We enjoyed our walk, took the local bus back to the Walmart across street from the pier. Caught it behind the church in the centre of town.
Mazaltlan, we followed the blue line into the city centre and visited the church and market behind it. A lot of helpful people in blue shirts with maps and idea to make your visit special. We then continued on to the ocean boardwalk and followed it around to the golden zone, lovely walk, in total we walked over 10 k
Cobo, we walked and saw the pier area and highlights, took a local bus up into some of the new area.

They will come with your shore excursion tickets onboard. The 5 dollars was
good for anything 50 years or discovery merchandise with 25 purchase, so one pay 20 for 25 worth of goods. They are good for several years.

For your information the ship had pulled anchor and was turning around when word came, that the missing couple were on a tender heading out to the ship. They used the pilot boats entrance to board the ship. We were about 10 to 15 minutes delayed leaving.

NOTE, we loved the Crown and looked forward to sailing on it again, our fourth cruise on it this year. We were shocked at the changes with the crew and the ship itself. They can do better, we know.

We were on the same cruise as you. for your information, some snowbirds use
Princess as a way to get to there winter residences. They can move more items down and get special permission to leave the ship early. They will rejoin a ship later in the season, going north. It takes permission from the cruise line, the agents at the port to do this. No, one was lost on this cruise. As for the couple that was late in Cobo, they were found in a waterfront bar, by the local agent. They got a local tender to rush them back to the ship as they the agents did not want to have to help them get back to the States. We did not feel that ship rock and rolled, but will agree that some motion was felt the last night, though they didn't drain the pool, which they do when motion is really bad.
Glad you had a good time.

This was our fourth cruise on the crown this year and has to be our worst of the group. Our stateroom was next door to the one we had in May. It was
not clean on arrival. We took out our wipes and clean it down. We found
paper in another language, one bar bell in the stateroom. The cabin attendant had excuses for the mess, and did an okay job for the week.
Food, was not good. The dinning room served food that was cold, my hot dish was served with the top hot even melted. We ate there once, two nights in the crown grill one night great, second night the fish wasn't cooked, was not white and flaky ,two days off the ship late lunch, one night at the salty dog -don't waste your money. The computer system did not work well. It was worst than before. It would not even work in port. The FCC took to the phone
to complete a booking. Crew was still changing over, so that they could go home for the holidays. The ship was decorated for the Christmas holiday, so if you celebrate this holiday it looked nice. Activities were none or it seemed, other than a seminar ? to sell you something. Few movies on the t.v. and most channels, again trying to sell you something. This staff on the ship did not seem very motived or happy. The captain did not make announcements into the cabin, but the art person did every day. We have a couple of cruises scheduled with princess and then we will move on to a non carnival product.

Thank you so much for doing this blog. We have enjoyed your blog of the
past couple of years and look forward to where we (you) will be going next.
Your descriptions and insight has given us much information. Glad that you
WILL BE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
SAFE TRAVELS.

Is the U.S. changes the entrance of Europeans, I am sure that we too
will be again subject to change and need the extra pages.
-
Congratulations on your 50th cruise. Have a wonderful journey.
-
That is sad, we went thru to passports with extra pages in a little over nine years. This will be a mess especially if we are required to get visas in Europe. They stamp them every time we go to home to Canada.

Please note that up to a couple of years ago, green card holders could
go with US passport holders. I am not sure of the year it changed. 2012?
Several of us were caught up in this once. There was no explanation of why the change and the cruise line was not aware of this also. It is not to excuse.

San Pedro is slow to board. First, the ship has to be totally clear of pax, and all crew accounted for. At 11:30 the begin the back to back pax. At 12:00
they start with the suite and elite pax. I am not sure if other groups have a special boarding, but when you registrar, you will get a number and that will be the group that you will board with. San Pedro is not a pleasant place to sit and wait. It is oft times a long wait.

Is there a Walmart or sam's club in Mazatlán? Is it near the port or how much a taxi to it? Thank you.

We are big O fans but wonder how O will be now that is part of NCL. Hopefully, it too won't go down, like HAL did when carnival took over. Getting rid of the mid size ship for the big mega ship. We loved HAL for its service and feel, once.

Thank you as always a great read. We look forward to the next adventure, the world cruise. You are so generous with you time to post your adventures on cruise critic so those of us who can't travel as much can follow alone. Thanks again and safe travels home.

Enjoy your cruise, can't wait too hear about it. Safe travels.

French Onion soup, except in the pay for places. Real butter, not the spread they call butter. We seldom eat butter, but when we do, we want the real thing.

Thank you for taking us along. Enjoyed your journey. Thanks again, and safe travels home.

If they have global entry in San Francisco, hopefully they will have it
at San Pedro.

When you renew your passport it does not come with the sticker on it. They
are not using stickers any more. If no kiosk, then we were told to use your
card to show you had the GOES.

There is a discussion on the Mexican board about people doing this. Be careful, as Mexican customs can be difficult. This way cruising down, is so much easier and safer than overland Mexico route. If going to P.V. Southwest now fly 's to Cabo and P.V.
