  1. I'm on the Mariner in December and there was a sale over the weekend for buy one, get one 50% off. Came to $47 each. I bet there will be more sales before May that are a little better.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Will buy for my 4 day cruise in a couple of weeks. Not bad, seeing it includes special coffees and water. WAY better than NCL.

  2. We carry everything, on airplanes, and cruise ships.

We each have a roller board suitcase, 20-21 inches, and a carry on soft bag. I put my purse inside that soft bag, DH has computer bag as well.

We've traveled like this for 45 years!

It probably comes from being a former flight attendant, traveling standby and never wanting to let your luggage get out of your sight.

  3. Went twice with fathom (the second time was a bonus) and fell in love with the country and its people (who have no beef with us - it is the governments who have issues with each other) and would LOVE to go back. It's a beautiful country and people!!

We also went on Fathom and loved it.

A wonderful 7 day people to people Cuba experience.

Wouldn't have traded it for anything, lovely people, experience, food, music.

So happy we had the opportunity.

  4. Just came back from Gem. As for the last 2 cruises we tried to drink it, no can do :) Just bad, left the bottle in the cabin again. I know it's a free perk but it would be nice to have a choice of this or a bottle of a house wine or something.

Gosh, I don't remember it being that bad!!! LOL

We enjoy having it with oj on the balcony

  5. When we boarded Amsterdam in Seattle I carried six bottles and expected to pay corkage on four of them. That step never occurred. On a typical cruise boarding day when does one get charged for the extra wine? At check in or upon boarding?

Of the six bottles we drank four in the dining room and were charged for the first two.

We also boarded in Seattle. We brought on 3 bottles. After we went through security, they told us to go pay the corkage at a table set up near the security.

The person asked us how many bottles we had, I told him 3. He said choose which one you want to take to the dining room. We chose the most expensive one and paid $18. He put a round sticker on the bottle and charged it to our room.

I guess you could sneak past this step, or tell the person you only had so many bottles, as he didn't rummage through my bag. I wouldn't recommend it....

  6. Thank you for great review, we sail her on the same itinerary next Saturday. I'm curious, how did you know about the birthday info? Did you just observe others or were you celebrating?

I was on the same cruise. I also had a birthday and informed everyone we met, however, no birthday singing or anything....perhaps it's because it was the second night out and we didn't have a regular seating at the dining room. I did receive a card in my stateroom from the captain. That was it. Don't expect anything.
