  1. Even though I have already made final payment for out little 3-night Jan 22 cruise on the Crown, the prices dropped today and we were able to upgrade from an ocean view to balcony on the Caribe deck for only $20 per person more.

I think if you ask nice and are moving up in price they will accommodate.

So yes, it's worth checking the website.

  2. I was trying to book a 14 day cruise (6 and 8 day combination). It is $200 less to book the 14 day, but no larger (Caribe) balconies are available unless you book in two segments. What the heck??

Might have to switch cabins at the cross-over?

  3. We had a boardwalk balcony on our 2012 Allure cruise and have booked 11729 for Nov 2016. (last one back)

Loved the view, the Aqua Theater and watching the activity down below. They had Rita's Cantina (now gone) and we missed out on the party and were so envious listening to all the noise and music.

We usually sail balconies but you can't get something like this on every ship.

Maybe we won't do it a third time but we're excited for the upcoming one.

  4. ... i am trying to contain my excitement about going to "Cabo Wabo" in Cabo …not really…. but my wife cannot wait on going there . my music preference is more towards Luther Vandros and alan jackson...For the record i never heard of sammy hagar so i hope the beer ice cold….

thanks again to all for sharing our wonderful journey and have a safe holiday season...

There's a new place in Cabo called "John's Place" it's across the street from the new marina access path. Anyway they have amazing food and great margaritas. It's not a music/club place, just for food and drinks.

Worth a stop if you're out and about.

  5. I hate the show CATS, but I also didn't like Mama Mia either. They should be doing Shrek: The Musical. It is a great show with awesome songs and a clever script that appeals to all ages (enough innuendos to go over the kids head yet keep the adults laughing). I mean, they are promoting the whole Dreamworks thing, right?

    I'm with ya.

Or even Footloose or Dirty Dancing - if they're going down the Broadway road...

  6. How many people would arrive at a hideous, ugly hotel you'd booked for a dream vacation and say, "Yeah It's ugly but it's home" ?

I'm sure most would say, "I'm not staying in this dump", and drive on.

Of course online photos and reviews would likely turn you away before you ever made the reservations.

Luxury vacation cruise ships should not look like surplus auto ferries.

  7. It's funny. All this talk about Elite and Diamond status yet the only time I got invited to meet and hang out with the captain was my one lonely cruise on Holland America.

We had no status at all.

I'll never know how I made that list but it turned out to be a great time and throughout the rest of the cruise we kept seeing the captain and he would come over and joke around with us.

People kept looking at us funny. (Maybe some jealous Elites? ) 😀

  8. It's all about enjoyment and entertainment for your vacation time and money.

Following some logic here anyone who selects more than the cheapest inside cabin is a sucker.

Yet certainly most people prefer to spend more for an outside or balcony cabin.

We became diamond members by default just because we took enough qualifying cruises. It wasn't a goal or attainment of status.

Although we do enjoy the benefits of being diamond, it seems the days of free upgrades from an inside cabin to a suite are long gone.

Now that would have been something.
