Even though I have already made final payment for out little 3-night Jan 22 cruise on the Crown, the prices dropped today and we were able to upgrade from an ocean view to balcony on the Caribe deck for only $20 per person more.
I think if you ask nice and are moving up in price they will accommodate.
So yes, it's worth checking the website.

I was trying to book a 14 day cruise (6 and 8 day combination). It is $200 less to book the 14 day, but no larger (Caribe) balconies are available unless you book in two segments. What the heck??
Might have to switch cabins at the cross-over?

We had a boardwalk balcony on our 2012 Allure cruise and have booked 11729 for Nov 2016. (last one back)
Loved the view, the Aqua Theater and watching the activity down below. They had Rita's Cantina (now gone) and we missed out on the party and were so envious listening to all the noise and music.
We usually sail balconies but you can't get something like this on every ship.
Maybe we won't do it a third time but we're excited for the upcoming one.

... i am trying to contain my excitement about going to "Cabo Wabo" in Cabo …not really…. but my wife cannot wait on going there . my music preference is more towards Luther Vandros and alan jackson...For the record i never heard of sammy hagar so i hope the beer ice cold….
thanks again to all for sharing our wonderful journey and have a safe holiday season...
There's a new place in Cabo called "John's Place" it's across the street from the new marina access path. Anyway they have amazing food and great margaritas. It's not a music/club place, just for food and drinks.
Worth a stop if you're out and about.

I hate the show CATS, but I also didn't like Mama Mia either. They should be doing Shrek: The Musical. It is a great show with awesome songs and a clever script that appeals to all ages (enough innuendos to go over the kids head yet keep the adults laughing). I mean, they are promoting the whole Dreamworks thing, right?
I'm with ya.
Or even Footloose or Dirty Dancing - if they're going down the Broadway road...

...They were saying that the Oasis seemed better to them in the minor things. He said that there seemed to be real oil paintings instead of prints, and real sculptures on the Oasis...
I guess I could spend the time I saved by not attending CATS! to view the artwork.
..sounds like a fair trade! :)

So is the Grand Princess under full propulsion by now?

So, six one-nighters in suites will get me straight to Elite from Ruby. Sign me up!!
-
Great Info. Now we can book Coral - quickly - before they change their minds.

What does wearing your cruise card around your neck have to do with Elite Changes? Why not stay on topic?
Hey. We've got a good fight going on here. Don't spoil it :D

My Answer: BOTH !
We have booked Allure for November 2016 and are looking at booking Freedom some time around May 2016 :)
-
Or maybe even commending some great staff
I have stood in line to do that. Especially on our last Ruby Princess cruise.
Otherwise it was only to get change for a $100 or to put cash on my account.

Loved Chicago on Allure a few years back.
We booked Harmony to see Grease but Allure is $500 per person cheaper for the same cruise/cabin so we will settle for Mama Mia.
The showroom would be absent two passengers if we had to endure Cats.

How many people would arrive at a hideous, ugly hotel you'd booked for a dream vacation and say, "Yeah It's ugly but it's home" ?
I'm sure most would say, "I'm not staying in this dump", and drive on.
Of course online photos and reviews would likely turn you away before you ever made the reservations.
Luxury vacation cruise ships should not look like surplus auto ferries.

In about six weeks I will be RUBY on Princess!
Does that mean I can stand in line and wave my card shouting, "I'm Ruby, dammit!" :D
-
Reading about how Princess has handled this incident convinced us to take our next cruise on Princess.
We booked today.

hello, dave cole here. We get our rotations about a year out but they're always subject to change. Hope that helps!

.. if you see a guy exiting the port in a hurry ….heading towards the "IN and OUT" burger thats me….i have never understood why we can't get one of their joints east of the Mississipi river…its just wrong.
Funny. And being from L.A. Seeing an In-N-Out in San Francisco is just wrong! 😀

It's funny. All this talk about Elite and Diamond status yet the only time I got invited to meet and hang out with the captain was my one lonely cruise on Holland America.
We had no status at all.
I'll never know how I made that list but it turned out to be a great time and throughout the rest of the cruise we kept seeing the captain and he would come over and joke around with us.
People kept looking at us funny. (Maybe some jealous Elites? ) 😀

...And Royal Caribbean is not coming back to the West Coast on a full time basis, according to their executives.
Which is exactly why, differences aside, we will surely be back on Princess soon
-
It's all about enjoyment and entertainment for your vacation time and money.
Following some logic here anyone who selects more than the cheapest inside cabin is a sucker.
Yet certainly most people prefer to spend more for an outside or balcony cabin.
We became diamond members by default just because we took enough qualifying cruises. It wasn't a goal or attainment of status.
Although we do enjoy the benefits of being diamond, it seems the days of free upgrades from an inside cabin to a suite are long gone.
Now that would have been something.

We cruised HAL once

Slept like a dream on the Ruby Princess. Very comfortable.
One thing better on Princess is they can open the partition between balconies so if you're sailing with friends or family you can share balconies.
First cruise Majesty of the Seas on Jan 11-15

Just a comment about ship's water.
Most people don't realize that drinking water on the cruise ships is desalinated, distilled and purified from sea water. It is safer and more pure than any bottled water you might buy.
You can take your own water/sport bottles and refill from the drinking water dispensers in the Windjammer for no cost.
