You just have to ask and they will bring you the wine list.  Who told you that  you can't look at it.?

And when you order a wine above the $15 limit you just pay the difference.

Have you done this recently? and on Discovery?

I would like to be able to look at the actual wine list that shows the vintner and the year. I know they have them but they don't offer them to us as we are lowly Plus users. I need to get a copy of a list somewhere - but of course they seem to differ by ship - and have it handy for reference. I "think" I even saw a wine list on the TV listing for the buffet. Maybe I'll check for lists that way and take a pic of the list so I can remember what is actually within the price range. I'd love to upgrade but...

I agree.....and it's not just on Princess that this is happening.

Over on the Celebrity forum someone was asking about bringing a sewing machine onboard. One poster claims some have. Unbelievable. Just when I thought I had heard it all here on CC. 🤣

    Or attempt to cruise with.

According to the person the one she wants to haul with her is a 1937 Singer Featherweight. Not a little hand held. One of the strangest carryons I've read here on CC. And there's been some weirds ones asked about. And people laugh when I say I pack duct(k) tape. 😂

Maybe she's a quilter and wants to work on a project onboard. Those Singer Featherweight machines are great.

We have a tour to visit the Penguins on Magdalena Island out of Punta Arenas Chili.  Looking forward to it.  🙂

On the plus side, you will love the excursion to see the penguins on Magdelena Island.  Be prepared for very windy conditions, and a somewhat rocky ferry trip over to the island, even in "good" conditions, but it is well worth it.  You can walk up to the lighthouse via a roped off path, and you will have very close access to the penguins, although touching them is forbidden, and they have "right of way', if they decide to cross the path in front of you.  The tour is just a great opportunity to see penguins in their natural habitat.  There will be many photo opportunities!  Have fun and keep enjoying your cruise!

Pics below are from our 2016 Rhapsody SA cruise. We loved our excursion to Magdalena Island to see the penguins....and I'm sure you will too.

Being very chilly outside, we are not doing our usual...sitting outside of the WJ on the aft.  Unless I  want to wear my polar gear and deal with gloves on my hands...we have been sitting inside the WJ for lunch.  We of course are not alone in this, which puts more diners inside for lunch.  We pick up our food, sit, eat, and leave......making sure our table is as clean as possible before we do so.

What bothers me are the pax that are camping out at the dining tables inside the WJ...not eating...but playing cards, playing games, on their laptops/devices...etc..  IIMHO...It's OK when not busy, but during noon lunch time...it makes it tough for diners to find an empty table.  There is a nice area set aside for cards, game playing, etc. in the annex right next door.  Through that glass door of the annex, I noticed less than half the tables in there occupied.  So now we have frustrated pax walking around trying to find a table to eat at.  Shame.

Please people, be considerate during lunch time...and take your games elsewhere.  OK...off my soap box now.

On our recent Navigator NYE cruise there were periodic announcements in the WJ asking people to vacate their table so others could eat.....which I thought was a polite way to say get up and leave when you're finished. On the Anthem TA game/card players took up residence at the tables in Vintages during the day making it difficult to find a seat if you wanted a glass of wine and/or Tapas from Giovanni's Kitchen.

This is a report from someone that is onboard now:

Passenger log ocean-date 4530762024 Seranade of the 🌊 Seas. Barreling through Drakes Passage at 17 knots heading due south towards Elephant Island Antartica. Winds 42 Kts SW. While We are definitely feeling The affects of the wayward, unforgiving seas. Most of us were well prepared and expecting the ruckus movement. Some, however are simply not cut out to be on the open seas. This is apparently on display by the lessor amount of passengers being visible about. Presumably choosing to be confined in their state rooms undoubtedly riding out the movement of the vessel in the comfort of their beds. Luckily motion sickness is not something I’ve ever been afflicted with. Truth of it all I quite enjoy the movement. We have all been on whale watch since yesterday following the announcement by Captain Sig of the spotting of a Grey whale off the starbird side. Unfortunately few of us were able to observe said whale 🐋. It’s is expected there will be many more to spot over the next several days. Here a few different vantage points. In my opinion The ship is handling it all very well. Definitely some creeks and splashes but she appears to be strongly built for such a voyage, navigating the swells with ease and vigorously cutting through the winds. Stay tuned more to come…same Bat time, same Bat channel! Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise Americas Segment Serenade of the Sea Ultimate World Cruise Bloggers & Sharerste

Also some are saying water/waves splashing up on heliport, some wave spray even hitting the bridge now.

I have said it before and I will say it again. They leave tables empty on first night for suites. We have never ever had to book in advance. For 360 you will be contacted and given a list of available days and sittings. This is how it has worked for us the entire last year

Thank you! I know you said that on another post but this time I was reponding to @HBCcruiserwho indicated they were able to book pre-cruise.

I'm stunned (but delighted) to hear that the 360 is included--when I went to sign up, the charge was almost $300, but I'm hearing that will be refunded?

For me I was not charged. The final amount showed $0.00. Now I also have the Premier package but I do not think that includes free 360.

I have Premier and a Suite on Discovery and could not book 360 without a charge.

I must ask; Are we related? Great minds..........

I have mentioned this before on CC. I worked in an Italian restaurant that served only Italian wines. We had a guest for a workshop regarding Reidel glassware and the difference. Holy Cow, did I learn a lot! He guided our palates through tasting wine from mass-market wine glasses versus "rimless" like Riedel and Spiegelau glassware. I was sold and now and am called a "Wine Snob". The difference is astounding. I get Riedel and Spiegelau glassware at thrift stores and garage sales for a mere pittance. (And Home Goods). If the glass has a "lip", then you will not be experiencing the wine at its best.

BTW- Quite a few other CC members are onboard with this. So, of course, I was thrilled when they had made this change on the Sky.

And ceramic of course for coffee! 😁

Totally agree with this. We're just off Navigator of the Seas (RCI) and the only place you can get a nice wine glass is at the Steakhouse. I even think a nice glass makes a not as nice wine taste better. LOL...

Our prescriptions are done by mail (express scripts) as we have Tricare.  DH has medicare and Tricare for life and since I'm 63, I have only Tricare.  Dr will give out longer prescriptions but getting them filled for more than 90 days at a time is virtually impossible so I don't know what we'd do except go to a pharmacy and pay out of pocket.   It might  be doable, but I would forsee hours on the phone with express scripts.

It would be the same for us. It's the insurance that will only fill for 90 days at a time. Had to jump through hoops to get a prescription filled a few days prior to the 90 days when we were going on a trip.

    Just to clarify:

I have a cruise in September and one in November this year.  No matter which sailing I enter via cruise personalizer, when I click "web version" I always get taken to the November cruise with no way to "change" cruises that I can see like on the phone app. (This is all on a desktop PC.)

Also...it takes me directly into the "web version" without having to log in.  It appears that Princess IT is "sensing" who I am and sends me to the cruise that it thinks I want.  Probably a corrupt cookie.  I'll try to delete and see if that makes a diff.

I am having the exact same issue. Did you ever find a solution to using the web version to change cruises?
