Well, I’ll keep my eye out, but the current promotion runs through December 5th.

They have Flash Sales, which is what I would expect, so maybe 3-5 days long.

  2. You most likely will find it a much different vibe.  Think bachelor and hen parties, we had many on our short cruise in 2017.  we didn't mind it, as there was a lot of interesting people watching 🙂

  3. Typically if the price goes down, you can rebook if it's a new sale; you may or may not be charged a cancellation fee of 75.00pp, just depends.  At least US bookings.  If you have a specific staterrom you want or if the cruise is selling well, I would suggest booking now.  And use a travel agent...

  4. I have had success in the past with being able to use the credit on things other than tours, when there has been nothing to book onboard.  Perhaps a pleasant conversation with an officer would help...   This was before transition, though.

In these challenging times anyone who wants to travel, land or sea, has to realise if they go with anything organised such as a cruise, things will change. None of us other than the cruiselines destination planner knows why choices are made, it’s complicated (tides, port space, government controls, advice of safety experts etc etc etc).  If we really want to go to X or Y do it yourself, a cruise is not for you.  If you’ve been somewhere lots of times before but you end up there again, so what, be thankful you’re so privileged to have opportunities to travel that most do not.
Let’s just be thankful we can travel and that experts do all they can to keep us safe.

    Well said!!

It seems that Azamara has not updated Israel itineraries online, unless they’re only dealing with immediate sailings.  We were contemplating sailing with friends on one of the Israel sailings in October 2024 but the itinerary hasn’t changed.  While the destination intrigued us we are limited to an October sailing due to commitments at home, thus the interest. Have people on these cruising been notified of itinerary changes?

I don't think any cruiselines have made changes to 2024 itineraries yet.  I just received an email from Oceania stating that they are looking at the 2024 cruises but are not making any immediate changes.  I'm sure it's the same with Azamara.

Received this generic email from Azamara today for our upcoming cruise in November

    Dear VICKI,

We can't wait to welcome you onboard for your upcoming cruise! Now through October 20, 2023, you can save up to 20% on immersive Shore Excursions, Unlimited Internet Package, or upgrade to top-shelf liquors and wines with the Ultimate Beverage Package. Whether you want to explore like a local with shore excursions, share your favorite memories of your cruise in real time, or enjoy exquisite wines and cocktails, we have the perfect package to make your voyage truly exceptional.

Book your package or excursion today to take advantage of this limited-time offer.

    Change The Way You Sea

As Discoverer Plus with over 20 plus cruises I already get 20% saving on the drink package advertised. Also again due to status will get savings on my Wifi

So it seems someone who has never cruised with Azamara before will get exactly the same discount on their upgraded drinks package as I would. You would think they would a little more to loyalty members who already qualify for the discount offered

I really think it’s another “ downgrade “ of he loyalty scheme for loyal cruisers.

are they promoting the indulgence package?  That's what it sounds like to me.

Maybe I don't get it as a male, but if you mean for ironing clothes, they have them in the laundry rooms for free to use there.

😄They're like anti curling irons, for hair...

Yes, and curling irons.  I take both and never questioned or taken away.  Our cabin stewards see them on the bathroom shelf and never say a word.

Thank you!  I was reading through the "prohibited items" list and flat irons were listed.

  10. This is an interesting part of the CNN article:

By 2026, all cruise operations will operate from the Adossat wharf. For that to happen, the Barcelona South terminal, also on the World Trade Center pier, will be closed. The port then plans to electrify the Adossat wharf, meaning that moored ships can be powered from the pier itself, rather than pumping out noxious emissions.

Sounds like the WTC south terminal will remain open?

My agent mentioned a loyalty discount but that could mean it's coming from their side. I am leaving it to them as long as the price is what they quoted don't really mind how they get there!

Yes, could be from the TA.  The only "loyalty" discounts with Azamara are the quarterly savings, and then the discount you get when booking onboard; the latter does depend on your level.

Well I went ahead and booked. I have a good travel agent who was honest and said their feedback was still positive for the onboard experience and they have a team that just deals with Azamara admin!!  He gave me a price which I was happy with and he said that in about a week they should manage to get Azamara to issue a correct invoice with our loyalty discount. He said that at the moment it is the loyalty scheme that is causing them the most issues.

I paid by Amex and it is charged directly by Azamara and we have pretty good financial protection in the UK if it all goes horribly wrong.

Fingers crossed I will be lucky and my booking won't be one of the problematic ones.

I'm happy you booked!  We have three upcoming and I'm not worried in the least.

FYI. Need to renew passports? We did. Submitted June 29 paying extra for priority mailing and processing. We received our new passports today Aug 24. Just saying don’t procrastinate as processing takes awhile.

    Totally agree!

So to be clear, I booked both cruises in March of 2023. Sailing date is January 2024  I am assuming that since I have not hit the final payment date, and have paid only a deposit for each cruise the deposit would be fully refunded.

I have checked to be sure there is plenty of availability on both cruises, and with the difference in price, plus cash back from the TA I could also upgrade to a suite.

Not fully refunded if you cancel; there is a 75.00 pp per cruise cancellation fee.  No penalty to transfer.
