Possibly, what the OP was getting at was why were we supposed to believe that there were “free” nights in this supposed sale? Or where were they, since the price hadn’t changed or had actually gone up? That’s why I don’t really pay attention to the wording of the so-called “sales”, just look at the bottom line.
Doesn't make sense when he is comparing to a price he paid last year though. If he had seen a price a week earlier than the sale started and it worked out to be the same with the free nights, that's a whole different ballgame.
This cruise never was part of the 4 free nights and OBC, it is still advertised with 3 free nights.

All this angst for an hour and twenty minutes? You made it seem like your choice was 11:10 or something many hours later.
Take the later flight.
Huh? I simply asked if 11:10 was too early. Never said anything in my original post about later flights. Angst?

I had originally booked this cruise over a year ago, for the same price.
A year ago? And you expect the price to be lower?? What world do you live in?

It's actually just 3 nights, and the bonus obc expired days ago. Price seems fine seeing as it's a holiday sailing over Christmas and New Years. Oh, and there are only 5 verandahs left

It's a short 3 night so all sea days. We've never ported in SFO before but I have heard of docking issues there before. Perhaps I'd better just stick to the 12:30 flight. Or is that still too early?

We do have global entry ( cruise starts in Vancouver BC). Probably flying AA so OAK not an option there.

You actually don't need either. We showed up at the cruise port in Barcelona with no boarding pass or luggage tags...on 7/8. No problem at all...they just looked us up on printed sheets they had on their clipboards and took care of everything. Fastest check in we've had for any cruise.
Oh yes, I know they aren't necessary. Posted because some folks feel the need to have them anyway. The fact that real OBC numbers show up may put some minds at ease.

FYI at least for US bookings
Your TA has access to boarding passes and cruise docs as soon as you book a cruise. I have mine and my cruise isn't until May of next year. It lists all of my OBC. Obviously for any bookings out a ways it will change, but for all of you concerned about not having anything, talk to your TA! I am told they can find this under the consumer documents tab, same place they would print or email a confirmation from.

I read it and read it twice. Interpretation might be that the poster misunderstood the captain and that the original intent was just to explain that captains rotate. Not necessarily from ship to ship. Captains all have their schedules worked out thru 2024 as far as I know.
Let's hope thisis the case!

I’ve heard nothing. I wonder if it’s true. I would think that the captains would not be fans of this plan!
I would agree. This person said that the current captain on Journey said this

read elsewhere that a guest was told that all captains will be rotating ships at the end of 2024. Anyone know anything about it?
-
what specifically was changed that you are questioning?

If just moving categories it shouldn't be a fee; if it's actually canceling and rebooking it typically is a fee. I think that some of the call center agents overlook the fee and some strictly adhere to it. Your agent should call Azamara again and also contact their BDM if it isn't resolved to your satisfaction.

Copied from the British Isles/Europe forum, it seems the article has caused some (un)necessary panic among future cruisers.
‘A few corrections/nuances from a local because the Guardian article is missing some details which seems to have lead to misinterpretations of what was actually decided; the city council has not voted to shut down the cruise terminal and it doesn’t take effect immediately.
For some time now there is a debate going on in Amsterdam about how to control the huge number of tourists that visit the city each year. On top of that there is increasing awareness about the huge air pollution caused by ocean cruise ships. As you may know, their engines still need to run, at a lower level, to generate the electricity needed to power all systems on board. For years, there has been talk in Amsterdam about moving the cruise terminal to a place outside the city. In 2016 for instance, the city already decided to move the cruise terminal to somewhere more near the harbor, but concrete action was never taken.
The city did reduce the number of ocean cruise ships that are allowed to dock at the Amsterdam cruise terminal to a maximum of 190 ocean cruise ships per year.
Yesterday, the city council has decided to speed up the process of moving the cruise terminal for sea cruises. In other words; it’s time we stop talking about it and start taking action.
That’s it. So there is no immediate shut down of the cruise terminal in Amsterdam. And until the new cruise terminal is ready, which won’t be for many many years, ocean cruise ships can still come to Amsterdam and dock in the Cruise Terminal.’Thank you for sharing this! It makes so much more sense.

None of the stories I read mentions when this goes into place. Is this going to impact the Aug 17th sailing of Journey for the Scottish itinerary? It’s less than a month away.
I would be very surprised if you would be impacted. But, who knows... I sure hope you're ok. We are supposed to disembark ther in June 2024. We may be going somewhere else

Thanks for posting this.
Doesn’t mention discriminating based upon a ship’s size, as is the case in Venice, so this may apply to river cruise ships as well.
Yes, it could end up being all sizes. certainly won't do good things for the economy there!

Amsterdam bans cruise ships to limit visitors (msn.com)
We may have a change in plans for the end of our cruise next year 😞
-
I checked a couple I've been tracking. R/T Miami was like you said, just ov and inside left; prices on Onward transatlantic went way up. Disappointed...
-
We have b2b's for next year that were rolled over from the old system. It took awhile but the obc is now showing up on both cruises.

My TA told me in an email that We're getting $1,200 OBC for a World Class suite but the booking confirmation only says OBC coupon for each of us with no actual $ amount.
World, Ocean and Spa suites offer 300.00 pp OBC suite credit, so 600.00 total; thisis in addition to any other OBC promotions that you may receive.
