  1. Are all Family Oceanview cabins layouts the same? Specifically looking for layout of 5158 on the Breakaway.

There are a few handicapped accessible family ocean view cabins, those won't have the bath tub...instead will have a roll in shower.

there's a youtube video of 5178 that I believe has the same set up as 5158.

The 5th guest has a pull down bunk located above the sleeper sofa.

  2. i have booked the Epic for next May for mine and Sisters birthday but whilst on i want to book a table for the four of us in Cagneys as it is my Hubbys birthday whilst on board.

All I can find are packages for speciality dining we only up to yet want to book this one.

    What am i doing wrong?

Dining and show reservations will open up 90 days before the cruise to book for regular cabins, 100 days in advance for Haven suites.

So, you're just a bit too early to book those reservations.

  3. That link doesn't work for me...

  4. Keep in mind, that getting a shot places a 30 minute hold on your UBP card. Most of the time they did let you know too. A couple of times, no one said anything but def be mindful of that, if it matters to you.

I've never heard of the time limit....I only drink shots, no mixed drinks, and I've never been given any time limits....but I haven't been on a ship since March.

1800 Reposado tequila for me, chilled.........always been given in a shot glass, never a cocktail glass.

  5. My included promo for internet says 250 minutes. However all the packages available to purchase on the Breakaway are by the megabyte.

Can anyone who had this package tell me what I'll actually get?

From the terms and conditions for the promo....

    Internet Package:

    250 minutes per stateroom.

Internet package is per stateroom. One login per stateroom.

On Breakaway, stateroom receives an internet package of 250 minutes or 1000 MB of data.

    Internet package includes activation fee.

  6. For us the favorite ship switched from the GEM (13 times) to the BREAKAWAY (7 sailings so far) after our first sailing on the BREAKAWAY.......amazing crew, love the size of the ship and all the activities it has to offer. Haven experience on the Breakaway puts it over the top for us...We'll be back in the Haven on the Breakaway for a couple sailings next month, and can't wait to be in our home away from home again. :)

Love sailing out of NY without having to fly during the Winter months.

  7. Hello and thank you for replying-

Could anyone clarify what "spa" is made available to those with this cabin designation.

I know it must mean the area labeled "spa" on deck 14, but is there some place else?

All guest 18 and over booked in the Spa cabins have access to the thermal spa suite. Normally this area requires you to purchase a spa pass if you haven't booked a spa cabin. On the Breakaway that pass runs $179 per person if booked in advance, or $199 per person if booked on the ship for a 7 day sailing. At least those were the prices in March when I was last on the Breakaway.

    Spa Thermal Suite

The Thermal Suite offers a unique experience benefiting the mind and body. Feel the weightlessness and kneading effect of water in the Thalasso Therapy Pool and enjoy a warm waterfall cascading onto your shoulders in the Vitality Pool. Leave the world behind in the dramatic grotto setting of the Salt Room or take a dip in the hot tub. Head to the steam room to soothe joints and alleviate pains. If detox is what you crave, sit down at the sauna to sweat out your cares as your heart and sweat glands work together to purify your body. Then relax and bring your body to temperature with a nap on heated mosaic lounge chairs.

Haven Spa suites also have the all of the full Haven suites, with access to the Haven area as well.

  8. stupid question but i had to ask. i was looking at pictures on google of some cabins and see some drop down beds in balcony but i assume that was for 5 people

so if i stick with the + cabins ill definitely have the separating twins and the sofa bed, correct?

also i notice for the cruise i'm looking at , 99% of the remaining cabins are bed by the balcony. guess people like the bed by the bathroom.

i also want to stay away from connectings though i know some say no noise

Balcony and mini suites on the Breakaway that sleep 4 will have the sofa for the 3rd guest and a pullman type bunk that comes down from the ceiling for the 4th, None of the Balcony or mini suites on the Breakaway will sleep 5, 4 would be the max in those.

There are 2 lower beds that make up a queen, or can be left separate. Sofa only works for 1

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2114343 Post #4 on that thread shows a photo of that set up.

  9. We had a huge AFT balcony on Breakaway in October, cabin 12308 and we loved it. It was even bigger than I thought by you tube videos and pictures.

I have watched a bunch more videos of regular balconies and wholly cow are they small. I do see when I mock bookings that there are large balconies. Is that just BS and they are just slightly by an inch bigger than regular balconies? My wife and I both said if we ever do Breakaway again we will only do AFT balconies. The regular are just too small. Thanks for any info on the subject.

There's an excellent document put together by another Cruise Critic member, not me. It has all the sizes broken down by category, as well as real photos if you click the blue X's

  10. We will be cruising on Breakaway in December for the third time. We were last on Breakaway in March. Any new additions, upgrades, changes that we should be aware of? Any idea who is the current captain and cruise director of Breakaway?

Uptown Grill is now Margaritaville.....that's the biggest change since March. We were on in March, and will be back on in December as well :)

  11. What is something you'd request if staying in a Haven suite that you wouldn't be able to if not staying in Haven? We don't want to be "those people" asking for the moon and stars, but would also not like to let "the little extras" slip us by, either. Thank you....we're such cruise newbies.

Specific afternoon snacks. The Butler will automatically bring some type of afternoon snack, we like to let them know some of our preferred items, rather than their mystery plates. Things like, fruit plates, cheese plates, bar mix, popcorn, M&M's, pretzel rolls, chips, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries......if it's available they will bring it.

  12. Seems like this is a bit of a glitch in the website, I've seen it come up quite frequently. The way I've found to see the actual cabin number, is to select that category...enter in your guest information...on the payment page choose the courtesy hold option. Then, on the next page you can see the actual suite number. For me it's always come up as one in the category I was looking at, nothing ever higher. But, at least the number shows immediately, so you aren't guessing. With the Courtesy Hold you will have up to 24 hours (sometimes longer with the full suites) to return with the payment.

There are no X category guarantee full or Haven suites, so they do all qualify for all of the available promotional items. Only the guarantee categories ending in the letter X are exempt....IX< OX<BX<MX.

  13. We have 9 booked and they all show up just fine, when I log in.

Double check your latitude number on the cruise that doesn't show up and make sure those numbers match your account. If those don't match you won't be able to view it when logged in. Try checking it on the other guests account....assuming there are others listed on the reservation.

  14. 90 days out and I made all of my dinner reservations [emoji1]

How soon before sailing will the major shows be available to reserve?

Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

No show reservations are taken on the DAWN, just show up and grab a seat. Most evenings there are 2 show times in the theater.

  15. Awesome, thanks! And I assume the other bedding situation is the pull-out sofa that could sleep two, correct?

yes, the 3rd and 4th guest share that sleeper sofa. Request an egg crate type mattress topper for that and I've heard it's pretty comfortable.

There is a curtain to separate the two sleeping areas.

Shower/tub combination instead of just a shower in a balcony cabin.

  16. I am trying to plan reservations for a holiday cruise on the Breakaway in the haven. Does anyone know if the menus for Christmas and Christmas Eve change in the Haven/Specialty restaurants? Should I pick one over the other? Thanks so much for your help!

It's been a few years since I've cruised during Christmas, but I have seen them offer special menus Christmas eve in at least one of the specialty restaurants....generally it's not covered by the dining package, and has a higher price and comes with various wine pairings. It was offered in Le Bistro on one of my sailings.

I had Le Bistro pre booked that year, and they changed my reservation once on the ship since I wasn't interested in the meal they had that evening with the wine pairings and special set menu.

We'll be right there with you on the Breakaway in the Haven for Christmas this year, we're counting down the days. :)

  17. I will call when NCL opens at 9am but in the meantime does NCL allow you to change your free at sea choice. I don't want the $50 port excursion credit that I signed up for but don't want to cancel my cruise and rebook. It is almost a sold out ship and I like the stateroom I have, just want to do our own shore excursions.

Easy change, as long as you are at least 48 hours prior to sailing and after final payment. It won't change the stateroom/reservation number. I've done it on two of my prior reservations through my PCC at Norwegian.

From the terms and conditions on the current promotion....

Free at Sea choice(s) must be selected at least 48 hours prior to sailing and cannot be changed on board. Bookings made within 48 hours to departure can choose promotion at time of booking.

Of course if you have booked with an outside travel agency you do have to go back through them to make any changes to your reservation, because they own the reservation Norwegian wouldn't be able to make any adjustments.

  18. Hey guys, does anyone know if NCL will be coming back with the 10+ day Breakaway cruises? I was previously on the Nov.29th 12 day cruise and I loved it, but they seem to be scratched from existence and replaced with the Gem 😑🙁🙁🙁
