  1. I'd like to hear from those cruisers who have experience on the BA traveling with several immediate family members and who required wheelchair accessible cabins, or preferably suites. (I've read that there are 42 WCA cabins on the ship, but I've only actually tracked about 23 using the BA deckplans on the website.) How did it work out for you? Were you in a connecting cabin for other family? Details please. Thanks in advance for your info.

Sorry I don't have any personal information for you but there are 42 accessible cabins on the ship...

  2. We booked the last available forward facing penthouse for our 9/2017 cruise. The room # is 13706. The room will be 4 people (myself and husband) and our 3 year old twin boys. I've been looking for information on the room and balcony. Is the balcony fully enclosed? Kind of nice to be enclosed with little ones (don't need to worry about climbing) but I also like to have a fresh breeze. Also what is room set up? Is the pull out couch large enough for the boys to share? I'm assuming it will be no issue since they are 3 years old. There is another bed but it comes down from the ceiling that won't work for them (if I had to guess). Wondering if I should keep a look out for another room in this category to come available later on. I hear people change their minds/things come up so another H7 cabin may open up (the cruise is quite a ways away) or should I just keep it and enjoy?

click on the blue X by the H7 category in that spread sheet.... that will bring up a slide show, there are photos from that suite in the slide show, and it does show the enclosed balcony.

  3. Hello...if we prebook and pay for an excursion (Epic, Sep 18, 2016), then do we still get a credit for the $50 per day shore excursion credit/perk?

    Thanks!

    Mallory

From the current terms and conditions for the promotion....

    Shore Excursion Credit Offer:

$50 shore excursion credit is per stateroom.

Limit 4 ports. Credit has no monetary value and is nonrefundable.

Itineraries visiting less than 4 ports for any reason are not eligible for a refund or credit.

In the event a port of call is missed, for any reason, no refund or credit will be issued.

Shore excursion credit is applicable for each port, and is not transferable to other ports. Use the credit or lose it.

Does not include embarkation and debarkation ports. Overnight stays count as one port, except Bermuda sailings which can receive up to 3 individual days of shore excursion credit.

Shore excursion credit can only be redeemed by calling 1-866-625-1167 or booking onboard.

  4. is the sky going in for dry dock, or is it chartered during late august through late october ???ncl website does not list any cruises for the sky during that period of time.

    https://www.ncl.com/vacations/norwegian-sky-aug-2016-sep-2016-oct-2016-2-guests?sailmonths=4294915101+4294915100+4294915099&ships=4294963192&cruise=1&cruiseHotel=1&cruiseHotelAir=1&cruiseTour=1&numberOfGuests=4294915774&advancedSearch=true

Scroll down further on that page in the link....there are altered itineraries, since Great Stirrup Cay will be closed for awhile to do updates there.

  5. Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I am looking at booking a Panama Canal cruise on the Jewel in November in the Haven, and NCL shows that the sailing qualifies for the "free at sea" promotion, but when I go through the booking process, there are no choices given for the promo (if you book a lower cabin category) or there is no mention that you receive all the benefits when booking a Haven, besides the banner on the website. Can I assume that I'll receive these benefits for the cruise?

You'll get all the promotional options automatically when booking the Haven suite on the Panama Canal cruise...no need to choose any option, it's automatic.

Book a Suite or Haven and get our Photo and Arcade Credit bonus offer, plus Free Specialty Dining, Free Beverage Package, Free Shore Excursions, and Free WiFi.

  6. Are you sure about that? The bowling may be located next to O'Sheehan's, but I can easily imagine them saying it's not an arcade game, so not covered by the arcade credit.

    From the terms and conditions....

    $100 Arcade Credit:

Credit is per stateroom and applicable to guests 1-2 on the reservation.

Arcade credit is applicable for use in the arcade and O'Sheehans amusement only.

Credit is not transferable and non-refundable. Use the credit or lose it.

  7. I have been trying since this morning to get onto NCL.com but the second I try to login, the site goes to a page that says that the website had to take a short vacation. Is anyone else having trouble?

No issues for me, I've been on the website quite a bit today.

Try clearing your computer cache and starting fresh.

  8. Pardon for not being updated as my last cruise with NCL was almost 2 years ago.

I always have an impression on the industry practice that in case the price drops after final payment, there will no refunds but you can upgrade your room to the next higher category if its price has fallen below what you paid.

I just called NCL after I found out that the lowest category ocean view's price has fallen below the price I paid for an interior stateroom by $200.

From my knowledge as I've been doing this a lot with Royal Caribbean, I can upgrade to that lowest oceanview category stateroom free of charge with no questions asked.

But I was told that based on the rules, I can only upgrade to any category that is currently priced higher than the fare I paid by paying a little more. And I cannot upgrade to a higher cabin category for free if its price has fallen below the price I paid.

Is this the new rule being enforced now? I recall 2 years ago it was not like that and NCL's policy on price drops after final payment is similar to RCCL.

If so when was this rule changed?

Was the new price you were looking at a promotional SAIL AWAY rate? That may make a difference, since you may have had a promotional option when you booked and the sail away promotional rate can't be combined with any promotions..........and they didn't offer SAIL AWAY rates back when you booked since they just started these the last couple of weeks. .

  9. I was told on the Breakaway last month that they wouldn't be carrying it any longer, so I'm afraid once their stock is gone they won't be replenishing.

I did have luck last year ordering it on the internet from another country, but they did send me an email after they shipped it to tell anyone who asked that it was perfume. At that point it was too late to cancel the order, and was on pins and needles until the bottle was delivered without any issues.

  10. Bummer. I just checked the new promo, effective today (4/11) through 4/30. It is exactly the same for the cruise I've been watching. And the half deposit is now gone. It's back to $250 per person.

Here's the new part that started today....from the promotion terms and conditions....

See the terms of our guest alcohol policy.

  12. That is very helpful, thank you.

Given that we are all friends, I would not want to take an advantage personally... but rather share whatever we get. So, I now know the approximate value of having a group = one adult fare. When considering that these are all Haven 2Bdrs, that is a fair amount of $$... and I hope we can parlay that into free meal packages, or wifi, or whatever.

If not, we will take the fare reduction and share out the value... I just think having more perks would be more fun.

  13. Has anyone heard when the Dec 2017/Jan 2018 cruises will be posted? All the other cruise lines have these itineraries up already and have for over 3 months! I am beginning to worry that maybe NCL is no longer going to cruising in the Caribbean then.

    https://www.ncl.com/press-releases/norwegian-cruise-line-unveils-select-fall-and-winter-201718-itineraries

Latitude and travel partners can book tomorrow, everyone else on the 23rd.

  14. Having never cruised NCL, can someone tell me if POA ever has any deals? I keep seeing the deals (3rd & 4th passengers free, freebie beverages, excursions, etc), but POA is exempt from all of them. My youngest wants to go to Hawaii for his graduation trip and as a newly single mom, I'd love to be able to find a deal for he and I and his brother. Would love to stay in a family suite aft with the big corner balcony (pretty sure that would probably never have any kind of deal - although at least a 3rd person free would be nice!).

    Thanks for all your help.

There's a link to all the dates for Hawaii where the 3rd and 4th guest in the cabin is free (other than taxes). Some sailings have free upgrades, and you'll see sailings there where you have 4 promotional options to choose from...the suites get all 4 options automatically.

The beverage package isn't an option for Hawaii sailings, can't be given as a promotional option or even purchased for those sailings.

  15. So, we leave Sat on the Escape! My husband is currently on a business trip and will be flying into Miami on Friday to meet up with the rest of us. He was surprised last night with an expensive bottle of tequila. I know we can't bring it on, and honestly we have no need to drink it on the cruise since we have the UBP. Are we able to turn it in at check in and pick it up at the end of the cruise? I'm sure people buy alcohol at times at port and need to check it in. So I'm assuming that's the best way to handle this? I guess we can always throw a wild party in the hotel on Fri night if needed! :)

I could offer to hold the bottle for you.....but you might not get it back :D

  16. DH and I have spent the weekend looking for a cruise to book for Sept-Nov 2017. We would like a 10-12 day Caribbean but can only find a (very) few 7 day trips. We were on the NCL Sun a couple years for a 10 day Southern which we loved but aren't able to find anything similar. Maybe the schedules aren't set yet? Or are all the ships somewhere else now? We have a future cruise credit to use so don't want to try another cruise line. We've enjoyed our three previous NCL cruises. I "haunt" this forum constantly so I'm sure someone will know.

    https://www.ncl.com/press-releases/norwegian-cruise-line-unveils-select-fall-and-winter-201718-itineraries

there's the press release about the cruises being released next week....

  17. https://www.ncl.com/faq#what-to-bring

From the Norwegian website it states no unsealed food items can be brought on the ship.

    What can't I bring onboard?

Passenger is not allowed to bring on board the vessel any intoxicating liquors/beverages*, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal. *For more information read our FAQ "What about alcohol consumption and wine corkage?" Unsealed food items will not be allowed onboard.

  18. My wife and I just took an upsell to the forward-facing haven penthouses on deck 9. This is our first cruise with Norwegian (and we are very excited!). As I understand the deck layout, our rooms should be directly underneath the Haven area. Are there forward elevators that will take us directly there, or what is the easiest path to take? Any other thoughts or tips about these rooms would be appreciated, as well. We are in 9706.

    Thanks in advance!

Take the regular elevators, that everyone uses, get off the elevator and there's a haven door on the port side of the ship. Use your key card to get in that door and walk down to the Haven.

If you're on the Breakaway or Getaway that would be on deck 16, only a few of the elevators go to deck 16....some stop at deck 15 so check the numbers on the top of the elevator and get on one heading to deck 16.

  19. Studio cabins are only for one guest, and your brother wouldn't be able to book hi own studio since he's not 21. You'll need to cancel your original booking and select a cabin that will sleep 2. You'll get the current promotional options and pricing at the time you rebook.

The UBP can't be purchased or given as a promotional option to a guest under 21.

Your brother would need his birth certificate, and drivers license to do the round trip cruise on the Escape.

As for the question on the drinking waiver I would only be guessing on that....so I won't bother. The person at the desk on the ship you speak with will be the one making that decision.

  20. Hello,

We've paid to upgrade to a minisuite for an imminent cruise (NCL Jewel). Does anyone know whether we're entitled to an extra 'Free at Sea' perk as per the current promotion?

Tried contacting NCL and got fobbed off. Just wondering whether to pursue it or accept we're not entitled

    Many thanks :)

If you upgraded an existing reservation after final payment you would only keep your original promotional items. Since you are only entitled to your promotions from the original booking date on the reservation.

If you were before final payment and you called they would have cancelled the original reservation and booked a new reservation with the new pricing and promotion available at the time you switched.
