We've stayed in both. The S2 had more drawer, hanging, and counter space. I was a little disappointed when we got our Suite GTY, and we were assigned an S1 and found out it lacked the above. I wouldn't pay the extra for the S1 unless you have the desire to be back aft, but I think there are a few S1's that are not on the ends.
On Silhouette, Equinox, Eclipse, and Solstice the S1's are only on the aft corners. Reflection also has S1's on the aft corners as well as 8 more on the forward Starboard side of the ship.

On our last 2 cruises, there have been half price offers on Specality Restaurants for the first night.
If you have a Suite booking you can dine free on 2 nights.
It sounds to me, that bookings are 'pencilled in' for Suite guests.
Sorry, but that is just not true. Suite guests do not have any advantage over those booked in other cabins when it comes to restaurant reservations. Unless perhaps you are booked in the Penthouse...

We didn't get this when we boarded in Ft Lauderdale with a RS. Which ship were you on? Maybe it is an Elite perk?
We were on Century and Silhouette.

C-Dragons. Were you escorted as you entered the ship? Mom and I are sailing out of San Diego in April, and I am not sure what to expect when we board. We have never sailed Celebrity, much less in a Royal Suite! Very excited!
Yes, the Captain's Club hostess was waiting for us on board at the gangway entrance. Enjoy... :)

There's a separate area for suites (at least in Ft. Lauderdale). Once on board the ship, you can go to Michael's Club to wait until the rooms are ready. Small amounts of food and lots of champagne. We had a royal suite on that sailing. Don't know if it applies to all categories of suites.
It applies to Royal Suites, the Penthouses, Reflection Suites, and I presume the Signature Suites as well. We have twice sailed in a Royal Suite and were escorted (both times) to Michael's Club by the Captain's Club Hostess to wait for the rooms to be ready.

• There is candy on the pillow each night, but no towel animals.
I wouldn't say that is an absolute.c:) On our Adriatic cruise on Silhouette in October, we came back to our cabin on several evenings to find different towel animals (no children with us).
• Café al Bacio only serves sweets, no sandwiches;
True. This was a change that we found out about also on our October Silhouette cruise.

Thank you, Andy! Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday too. :)

Thanks for the heads up on this. :)
Does anyone know if the X promo for 25 extra cruise points might apply to this itinerary (if booked by Dec. 31st) ?
-
Or to some, having a private viewing of a fabulous work of art. :p:D
Yes... and the best place for that would be an AFT cabin on the Resort Deck. ;) :)

Hi All, has anyone recently gone on Celebrity's 11 night Eastern Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia (stopping in Mykonos, Santorini, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Piraeus and Napoli)? My fiance and I have booked this cruise for our honeymoon on the Reflection next October (I think this cruise was previously run on the Equinox) and we were hoping to get our hands on the daily itineraries to get an idea of which nights might be formal nights. We want to book dinners at some of the specialty restaurants in advance but don't want to book them on nights that are already formal (because I love making him dress up!). Any suggestions or links to the actual daily schedules would be awesome!
Thanks so much!
What a wonderful way to spend your honeymoon!
Welcome to Cruise Critic. I hope you will join our Roll Call. :)

... for brightening my day!
Hilarious, absolutely hilarious! :D
After reading your review I added an Antarctica cruise to my bucket list.
Would love to read your review of French Polynesia, after you've been there.
The best cruise we ever did was 12 nights around Tahiti on Renaissance, it was like being in Paradise.

We enjoyed having dinner in our Royal suite with friends. Our butler also set up drinks and snacks on the verandah for our group sail away party.

Can anyone tell me if the if the Passages OBC is combinable with the OBC credit that Amex gives when a cruise is paid for using a Platinum Amex Card?

Now I know why I didn't go.
Phil
We only went one night Phil, and it was standing room only!

Deck – 12- Resort Deck
Cabin # - 2135
Class – S2
Starboard or Port Side - Port Side
Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath
Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – There was a lot of noise from the Oceanview Cafe above starting in the early morning hours until late at night as the staff were rolling heavy carts across the tiled floors which sounded like "rolling thunder".
Balcony View - Great view.
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? – Normal size for an S2
Was wind a problem? No.
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A
Any specific problems with this cabin? Just the noise from above.
Any other comments? I will not book an S2 on the Starboard or Port side of the Resort Deck again.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the regular room service breakfast menu and the "Expanded room service breakfast menu" that Celebrity says is available in its Concierge Class cabins ?
I'm particularly interested in knowing if a cooked breakfast is available in-cabin for Concierge Class or is the "expanded menu" just more cold items on a continental breakfast menu.
Yes you can get a cooked breakfast. There are a variety of things to choose from including eggs prepared anyway you like them, omelets, grilled vegetables, sausages, hot oatmeal, pancakes etc. We always order room service and have breakfast on our verandah. It's wonderful. Can't tell you about the regular room service menu as we have never seen one.

In case most are not aware, Donnette Fletcher is no longer a CC Hostess. We last saw her on the Silhouette in November as a Future Cruise Consultant. She told us that she had only been doing her new job for a couple of months, but was enjoying it. We thought she was a great CC Hostess.
