We loved the ultimate ship tour, took one on the Regal. One small problem, our guide, not sure what position/job he had on the ship, was very young and knowledgeable, but, he walked way too fast for us. Sounds like it's trivial, but not. My husband has a bad back and can' walk so fast. We should have said something to the guide, but we didn't, for anyone else out there, you are paying $150 per person, if something is not right please say so. It felt like we were running through the ship, once we stopped at an area it was all great.

This is an insanely ridiculous post

Has anyone visited the synagogue in Curacao on Saturday morning and stayed for services? Thinking of going there while our ship visits this port on a Saturday.

Princess Cruises Reveals Splash Zone
Caribbean Princess which was the first ship in the fleet to introduce the MedallionClass vacations experience will now bring another new fleet first feature. When the ship emerges from a major dry dock in June 2019 she will have a new water attraction.
The Reef Family Splash Zone will bring water fun to a new level by offering new ways to enjoy and cool off for all cruisers.
The new feature will be located on deck 17 aft. The space will also update current Jacuzzi, pool, and bar. Here are all the details:
This interactive and inviting water playground features a splash pool, assorted water sprays and showers where families can enjoy a day of splashing, laughing and playing. The focal point is an interactive whale feature, with ‘rain” from its fluke.
Game Zone
Bringing family competition to a whole new level with oversized backyard games, comfy lounge sectionals, and a kid-friendly bar setting, families can grab some cocktails and mocktails while challenging the kids to a game of Connect Four, Jenga or Cornhole.
New Outdoor Furniture
With a variety of seating and lounging options, from single sun loungers to sectional chairs and couches with tables, he Reef transforms into an inviting space for groups of all sizes aimed to be comfortable and conversational, also featuring new fixtures and finishes.

I've done it 3 times, you must love food, foodie, love wine and can eat a large meal. If none of these, then it's not worth it. I can't do anymore, I just can't eat so much like I used to.

As far as I understand, the internet usage/streaming is the same on any ship anywhere. We were on the internet in the middle of the Caribbean sea and Atlantic and it was great. I would recommend purchasing the unlimited internet and then you don't have to worry about logging on and off, etc.
-
If your kids have a cell phone you can use normal text messaging. We used it all the time last March on the Caribbean Princess. You can even text anyone else anywhere. We didn't use the ship's messaging system

I was on the Caribbean in March for 2 weeks, and the AC worked great. In fact it was too cold in most places and had to take a sweater and the cabin was always cool. I wonder what they did to it during dry / wet dock?

We all forget that some of us "old" Princess cruisers, Elite or less, have grandchildren and may want to continue cruising on Princess. I know many who are cruising with grandchildren who moved over to RC or Disney, etc. because they're looking for more activities for the little ones. Maybe this is a way of keeping the loyal customers to stay with them and not chase them away.

The only reason we previously used the sanctuary was due to the cushions on those loungers. My husband has a bad back and can't sit on those other loungers by the pools for more than an hour at a time. That was a big mistake on Princess' part.

You can always get lemonade and ice tea, yes, juices are available for breakfast as OJ, cranberry and pineapple. Also, on the Caribbean Princess (maybe on other ships as well) they have a cooler near the doors that's designated always "breakfast to go", they have small boxed cereals and different types of small milk cartons. I sometimes grabbed a box of milk in the afternoon.

Per information from Caribbean Princess crew, I got off on March 30. Yes, a big repair on the engine, kids water park on deck 16/17 aft and updating staterooms, pools and hot tubs.

Just off the Caribbean, this was the loudest cruise ever on Princess, after 16 cruises. Not Spring breakers, but adults anywhere from mid 30’s to 50’s. Often I couldn’t hear my tablemates during dinner. We mostly hung around the adult pool and deck 16 above.

The Patter was always placed on our bed or the little table by the door. The ultimate idea of the Medallion is to go paperless. Everything will be on your smart phone, tablet, or TV. All the information in the Patter is largely on Princess-at-Sea now.
We had spa stuff art auction, EZ check, captain circle stuff, etc. all on the floor

All of the ideas are great, you need some of these supplies on hand, I have magnets and need to search around for a holder of some type
our room steward is pretty bad this time
going to look funny after a couple of months where you’ll see all sorts of mailbox contraptions.
I hope Princess is seeing this.

I’m on the Caribbean Princess now and very diasappointed that they took away the mailboxes when they installed the medallion electronic entry system. Now most of the notices, including the Patter are shoved under the door.
So, when you enter, often you’re stepping on top of some notice and need to pick it up off the door. I feel like it’s Motel 6.
I hope they’re planning to install new mailboxes. For some people all of this bending may be difficult as those with back issues, etc.

I would do the old locks and also find one that's "ocean to ocean", the cruise that stops for the day at Fuerte Amador,- Panama City. I saw the new locks operating from the visitors' center and it was no way as interesting as the old locks. Take the Coral if you can, it's just the right size.

anyone had any experience with Luggage Forward to Port Everglades? they say they have an agent to deliver it to the ship

I was on an Alaskan cruise during the middle of June when the sun set at 1am and rose at 3 am. Nice long days and mostly warm. But, one problem in going in June is that the salmon has not spawned yet in the regions where the ship goes. We spoke to one guide who told us to come next time from the middle of July to beginning of August when salmon is plentiful, when there is a lot of salmon it brings out every living thing, as bears, more eagles, etc., if you are interested in more wildlife, then beginning of August is a good time.

We were on the Regal in March and once you log into the ship's wifi you can then use your Facebook messenger or even text messages. We had free internet due to our level, but for those who paid it was not expensive. We even Face Timed with our family, sent photos via text messages and made cell phone calls. It was great for us since we like to stay in touch with family.

Check out this site, that's how we pick the obstructed cabins

Crab Shack is a great experience, everyone should do it at least once, it's a feast and really delicious. The service is great. It's a ton of food.

We just came back from doing B2B on the Regal, and going back to Ft. Lauderdale was OK, we took advantage of visiting the area which we've never done before. But, I think if we had done a 3rd week we would have stayed on the ship.
I think Princess makes a ton of money on these short 7 or even 10 days cruises, I've never seen so much alcohol consumed and spa lines like I've seen on these two 7 day cruises. You do get some regulars who may not party as much, don't buy the photos, etc. but Princess relies on those newbies which would jump on the 7 day cruise.
For them to do a long Caribbean cruise, like 30 days without going back to Ft. Lauderdale they would have to do on a small ship and they only have one small one. I would do if it was offered and if the price was right
IS THE CROWN PRINCESS REALLY THAT AWFUL???

We will be on the Crown also on February 5th, yes, I've seen some of these bad reviews on Reviews / Cruise Critic, and if you check on the reviewers, many of them have one or two reviews on CC. Some of these passengers really hated this ship. We were on the Caribbean Princess last year and that ship also had some bad reviews, went anyway and loved it. We did b2b and enjoyed everything.
