  1. He did not play or sing much but pretty much talked nonsense and changed songs around. Or he started a song, stopped then talked some more, none of it made sense. Begging people to dance and embarrassing some as to why they don't want to dance. I've been at Crooners where the entertainer doesn't have to say anything besides maybe introduce a song or talk about a request and people sing or dance as they wish.

  2. We just got off the Regal after a 14 cruise in the Caribbean. Crooner's entertainer was Liam Stewart. This is the first time in 15 Princess cruises that we walked out of Crooners the first night and never returned. I did not enjoy him at all and missed my evenings at Crooners, usually from 7-8 and then after 10:45. Crooners was mostly pretty quiet for a ship with over 3,000 passengers, not like anything else I've seen before where you couldn't get a seat.

  3. I've used this website for my last cruise on Regal and now for my next one on Crown, I love the site But, we need to add "noise" to the pictures. Our E630 on the Regal had some bad metal sounds coming from lifeboats or something else almost every night between 2-4 am. The lifeboat was not in front of our balcony and our vision out was great, but OMG those noises, once I swear I heard a big chunk of metal falling.

  4. We just got off a 14 day on the Regal, D'Agostino, this Maitres D'Hotel was not very good. I thought the dining room service was disorganized, moving assistant waiters around to the point we didn't know who our assistant was. The food was coming out lukewarm, nothing was hot. We were all watching how the food was brought up and then just was sitting there by the waiter station for a long time. Also, D'Agostino once in a while walked around and only talked (at least at our table) to Elite cruisers. I've had much better ones on previous cruises.

  5. We were sitting next to the Chef's Table in the Allegro dining room. That curtain was "interesting" sort of too glitchy. The passengers seemed very happy and the presentation was beautiful. Our waiter told us that it's $115 now

  7. We did the "Florence and Pisa On Your Own" tour two years ago (not Princess - Carnival Vista - but since they're both Carnival Corporation I figure it's the same tour operator) and enjoyed the tour. We spent an hour in Pisa and liked our time walking around the cathedral buildings and the city walls. (No, we didn't take the photos holding up the tower.:D) To me, though, the main problem with this tour is that you won't know in advance whether you will visit Pisa or Florence first, so you can't buy advance tickets. We visited Pisa first, then Florence. Without advance tickets, there was no way we could go inside Duomo or the Accademia. If you have a set time in Florence only, you can get advance tickets.

Thank you, that was my thoughts as well, going to Florence and standing in line is not my cup of fun. We may have to find a private tour that includes tickets to Accademia

  8. In 2014 we went with friends on a Princess Mediterranean cruise with a stop for Florence and/or Pisa. DH and I had been to Florence years ago and knew that we need as much time as possible there. We chose "Florence On Your Own" through Princess and we broke away from the group as soon as we were told the time and place to meet. Saw some "old friends" and several new places. Our friends insisted that they "had to" go to Pisa. so they did the tour that included Florence and Pisa. Well, they went to Pisa first and the tour spent way too much time there. They had pre-booked tickets for the Uffizi and missed their time slot but were let in when they got there anyway. Hurried through the museum and had a bit of time to look around before all the groups met up for transportation back to the ship. When we told them what we had done, what we had seen, they were sorry they had missed so many things. DW mouthed to me "we should have gone with you".

The moral is if you are doing a ship's tour skip Pisa and just do Florence so you have as much time as possible there.

P.S. We did the ship's tour because we had OBC to use or lose otherwise we would have used a company like RIL. We used them for tours in Naples and Rome.

Which tour are you on for this coming year? This is my one predicament, Florence alone or with Pisa, ship tour or not, I can skip Pisa, but my husband doesn't want to skip. Would we be better of taking the smaller van to Florence so the drop off is closer? I'm thinking it's going to be too much fast walking just to get to the center area. What ship will you be on? when? We're from Northern VA

  9. that Alfredo's is free.

that there is a coffee card.

that coffee in the Horizon buffet on Regal is real, and not syrup.

that you can ask for a mattress topper (didn't get it, though)

that you have to recheck the rates even after booking

that there are such things as upsells and upgrades

that there are sofa beds in deluxe balcony rooms, but not in regular balcony rooms

Please I hope that's so, what a big improvement.

  10. The OP posted the same scenario/complaint on the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean boards, basically warning everyone not to take Princess. I think she knew as well as her DH that they could have worked things differently in the evening, as trying to get a permanent reservation or even trying to get into TD early seating, and then they could have seen all the shows, etc.

I was on the Island last year for 15 days and had late TD, had time for the shows, no lines, of course we're late people. Never experienced long lines or people pushing. The food was outstanding.

  11. I have no problems with vegetarians or vegans. I've eaten some pretty decent vegetarian and vegan meals. My wife worked for a guy who was a vegan and he threw a Christmas party for the staff and spouses, children, etc. every year. (He's Jewish but what the heck. :)) He always had it catered and the vegan food varied from "ho hum" to "dang that's good!".

    ;p

What his his religion have to do with anything, you don't need to add racist comments

  12. Thank you, RedHeadArmyWife, we'll be there in March and for sure we'll stay away from the open air tram. We've been to St. Thomas a few times and usually just walk around and/ or take a taxi. I'm thinking about taking a taxi to just show us around the island since we've never seen the island, hopefully by then more repairs will be done.
