  1. Thanks for the replies ,

Good to see that there are more docks that can accommodate the Oasis class ships.

As we are pretty much enamored with the Oasis class and will only sail on that class

Moving forward , we are looking toward a bit more variety with destinations .

We have sailed other class of ships with RC , and the ship is the destination more than the itinary though.

Isn't it great to have such a variety of ships within the same company.

  2. As a previous poster stated , if you get a table for two you are literally one foot away from the next table , so you will have people to chat with. We also found that if you dine at the same time every night , so do some of the others seated near you on the first night.

What I found appealing about getting a table for two is , you don't have to wait for others to get their food before you start eating , even though it appears that you are seated with others.

If you have plans , others won't interfere with your time line.

We dined at big tables on our first few cruises , but when we tried mtd we never went back.

  3. General,

My first trip on the Oasis was in a boardwalk balcony.

I was on the same level but 5 cabins from the end . I wanted to try it out as it was the only ship to offer an interior balcony, with a view out the rear of the ship.

I have since gone back to exterior balconies on the Oasis , but it was a unique

    experience which I enjoyed.

Leave it to Royal to come up with unique ideas and magnificent ships.

Booked on the Anthem next .

    Cheers

  4. Deck 8 is my favorite , as others have said , close to the Park Cafe .

Short walk up the stairs from the promenade too.

I booked the same level on the Anthem, but haven`t sailed on her yet .

I was on the 7th on the Serenade , didn`t like the balcony over the lifeboats,

so deck 8 for me always moving forward.

  5. You must have been on the October 2015 cruise where the guy decided to leave the ship early... I can't recall what time we arrived.... but I think it was closer to 7:30 or 8.

I don't like spending the day before the end of the cruise trying to figure out how I am going to make the flight. I was on one cruise were there was an issue with customs arriving ontime.

I was on that cruise , it was a mad house on the promenade with all thousands of passengers doing express walk off . We waited for about an hour and a half to exit the ship . Got to the airport around 9 am .

I made the airport real early two out of three times off of the Oasis .

So your chances i would say are good but you may get an unexpected delay that will mess up your plans . Have plan B ready just in case ,

    cheers.

  6. Also at the aqua theatre at the back of the boardwalk , two huge screens . Its outdoors so it gets warm and humid out there , but its ok for a while .

Then you can move indoors to the on air club, as suggested before.

Don't know if the big screens are used for all the time slots. I remember Monday night game was on during my last cruise.

  7. Oasis class ships are great for football. They have two big screens at the back of the ship on the boardwalk that they televise the games on. You start there and if it's too hot outside there you move into the on air club . They have big screens in there or you can sit outside the club and watch the game in the promenade on the smaller screens..

If you do a boardwalk balcony you can sit on your balcony and watch the game.

I did that one year. I was close to the back of the ship for a good view.

Anyway, I hope you get your team on the big screen.

  8. Thanks for the replies. I can now try out the Anthem and know I can catch a game.

Looks like an interesting ship .

On my last cruise they were running the saints /giants game where the score was in the

50's.The defence didn't show up . Both teams would score on almost every posession.A New Yorker was in the pub going nuts. A true fan .He made the game a most memorable one for me.

  9. Not my favorite either. Big ships have more going on. Went on it once and

doubt I will ever go back. Nothing wrong with it , but it isn't the Oasis .

I like the floating hotel atmosphere of the bigger ships.

I have tried 4 classes and found that I liked the Serenade the least.

Try the ship out and see if its a good fit for you.

    cheers.
