We are sailing on the Vista on Sept 18. We sailed on the Breeze on July 24 and indoor masking was a "recommendation" but no one except the crew were wearing masks and there was no enforcement. But that was before the new policies released 3 weeks ago. Has anyone sailed on the Vista in the past three weeks? Are they enforcing this policy indoors and, if so, how?

If at that time it was only recommended, there was nothing to enforce. I believe now it is required and is being enforced.

Alas! Here it is! The process I went through on August 12, 2021 taking the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag HOME TEST guided by an on-line live Proctor.  This test kit will be used to satisfy our Carnival cruise requirement to produce a negative COVID test result 72 to 48 hours prior to the day of our embarkation. Requirements provided from the test:

✔️Laboratory Test Record - Lab result document is password protected PDF Document and sent by email after the test

✔️ Digital certificate - Navica App (contains the following information below to satisfy information requirements)

    ✔️First and Last Name - B******* P*******

    ✔️Date of Birth -  **/**/***

✔️Type of Test - BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test (Viral Antigen)

✔️Date and time the sample was taken: August 12, 2021

✔️Test result is stated “NEGATIVE” or “NOT DETECTED” - NEGATIVE* / *SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Not Detected

✔️Laboratory or testing site, and/or healthcare provider details - eMed Labs LLC

The 48-72 hours is incorrect.  It is 3days before your cruise. If your cruise is Monday, you can test on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or even Monday using rapid.

I found a local pharmacy that does the PCR test, can that be used in place of the ANTIGEN test? Would that qualify.   Still getting conflicted on the 3 day rule. We sail on Sunday, so let's say I get the test on Thursday.....Thursday to Friday ( 1 day) Friday to Saturday (2), and then Sunday 3. Correct?

For a Sunday cruise, you can get tested on Thursday, Friday or Sunday.

Yes, Test on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday for a Sunday cruise.

When you follow this and other advice and show up with a self administered home test and are not only refused boarding, but also denied a refund, not one of you better complain about it.  You have officially been told and warned.  If you choose to do this, you have no one to blame but yourself for listening to posters on these boards rather than information provided through official sources, and just using a minimal amount of common sense.  Does anyone actually think that accepting self administered tests is in any way a good idea?

Carnival website states at home tests are not accepted.

Since no one can reach Carnival including my TA, can someone venture to guess when the 72 hour covid test begins and ends?  If cruise is on Saturday, can test be taken Wednesday for Saturday arrival onto Ship which is 4 days from test date to Sail date or must it be done on Thursday which would make Saturday the 72 hour window.?  Is it 72 hours from the results or the actual date of the test?

And B2B, will test be done at port free since we can't get a 72 hour test in the middle of the ocean.

They do not count the hours. It is 3 days. If your cruise is Saturday, you can test on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. John Heald also said you can even  test on that Saturday.

I live in Georgia but got my shots in the cafeteria of a hospital by volunteers in Tennessee, where I work.  Any one have a notion if I need to contact the Tennessee state department because that is where the shots were administered or the one in Georgia since that is where I reside?

I do have the  same question. Live in one state and had vaccination in another.

We strongly encourage all guests to wear face masks when indoors, particularly guests who are unvaccinated, including children under the age of 12 who should wear masks in public areas, except when eating or drinking. All guests age 2 and older will be required to wear face masks in elevators and in designated indoor entertainment areas, all retail shops, and in the casino, except when eating or drinking. Guests will be required to wear face masks prior to being seated in our main dining rooms and in the Lido Buffet area and occasionally in other designated areas where larger number of guests may congregate (signs will be posted). Additionally, masks are required at any indoor activity with children under 12 years, (i.e., Build-A-Bear®, Family Harbor, Sky Zone®).

    First sentence says, strongly encouraged....

MASKS & PHYSICAL DISTANCING (Effective with sailings departing August 7, 2021)

Not that is confusing..it says at the beginning guests are encouraged, but then says REQUIRED   at least 3 times.

So does boarding day count as one of the three days?  Example...arrive into embarkation port on Friday and board ship on Sunday.   Do we have to get tested on Friday OR can we be tested on Thursday before we leave for our overnight flight?  Just trying to figure out when the 3 days start.  TIA for any help offered.

I agree, not sure how they calculate the 3 days.

Negative antigen test may be tricky for those who fly into port a day ahead of time.  Last test I took, it took 3 days to get the results.

This is huge problem , since many people do fly in the day before. If your cruise is a Monday, you would test Saturday and fly tp port on Sunday. You will not get the results.

That sucks.  Will the tests be provided at the pier for free, or will guest need to get tested privately in advance at their own expense.   Vaccinated and non-vax?

Carnival.com said there will be no testing for Vaccinated passengers at the pier. They will test unvaccinated people at $150 a piece. You can get tested for free using insurance at most pharmacies.

    Hey everyone,

We just booked Mardi Gras for a last minute cruise this afternoon, and just now received a letter saying the reservation had cancelled. The booking number is not the one we had on our invoice, but everything else (name, date, etc) were all correct. Is this a mistake with Carnival IT or did something go afoul? We put a call in to our PVP, but given the late hour, we aren't sure we'll get a call back until tomorrow.

    Any updated information?

Family drama has prompted me to try to book a last minute cruise for my wife and I.

Our options for flights aren't great, as she works until 7p on the night before the cruise.  There is a flight at 7:15, so she could possibly get coverage and we could do that.  There's another flight the next morning (day of the cruise) which arrives in Miami at 12:40pm.\

Actually I just found a third option, a direct flight from my airport to Miami with American which arrives in Miami at 9:30am (day of cruise)

How risky is the flight on the day of the cruise?  It's august, unlikely to get weather delays..

A definite no to the 12:40 pm flight. The AA non stop arriving at 9:30 am is possible but risky.  My AA non stop flight was  just changed by AA to a stop over in Charlotte. And by the way, no one let me know, I just happened to be checking.

We have a November cruise booked and if we haven't heard anything by our final payment date we will cancel. We have five adults and two cabins, but one person won't be vaccinated. If he is going to be treated like third-class steerage then we won't be going.

The people in the cabin with the unvaccinated person need to go on bubble tours also.
