  1. [T]he UK Azamara cruises were marketed and sold . . . as 'all inclusive' and they are not 'all inclusive' as per industry standard (Regent etc etc).

Perhaps finally a regulation or some benchmark we can apply? I am not familiar with a US industry standard or definition of "all inclusive," but do I take it there is such a standard in Great Britain? Can you provide a link or quote the standard?

  2. My understanding is that the wines of the day (on the rotation list) will be available whenever you want them.

If others think differently I am sure they will advise us.

    Cheers!

And presumably the beers and spirits. So when 5:00 comes, you may have your chardonnay, Beck's or martini.

  3. They have added some cheap booze (which many do not want) and a mass shore excursion (which many do not want) and are charging thousands more. It is the Azamara cruisers who are saying that -- the ones who are abandoning ship.

In any event, I can express my opinion about anything, by the way. Anyone can. You can choose to disregard an opinion if you believe there is no basis for it. But there are no "opinion police" on Cruise Critic -- unless you are self-appointed.

Chill. No need to get excited.

Fortunately, I am a cheap date. My favorite for a martini is Hendrick's, but my second favorite is Beefeaters! My wife will be aggravated that she doesn't have Woodford Reserve (distillery 7 miles from our house) for her Manhattan, but she'll survive with margaritas or gin and tonics.

We're all going to be on a cruise ship in a great part of the world. Smile, be happy. Life is short.;)

  4. Maybe it's just me but I am very happy with the selection on offer of "free" drinks. I'm looking forward to my cruise, having been on an Azamara cruise before and loved it!

Try not and get bogged down with every little thing you see as negative and just look forward to your cruise otherwise you will just ruin it for yourselves.

Happy sailing everyone and enjoy yourselves!! Remember how many people in the world can only ever dream of doing a cruise.....and we're lucky enough to be taking an Azamara cruise!!! :D

And of course you are right. Thanks for the reminder.;)

  5. No Cosmo. :(:(:(:(:(

I guess they can't please everyone.

Don't give up. It appears there are drinks listed that include all the ingredients of a Cosmo. Clearly they can't list every drink that might exist (e.g., they don't list a gin and tonic, but clearly it's included), so it's worth asking, either here on on the ship.;)

  6. Phil, I agree the 'all inclusive' strap-line was very misleading. I assumed it would be the same as Regent, etc.

Minor quibble, but slightly misleading. Even on Regent you can't get Château Lafite Rothschild or Dom Perignon (or lots of other lesser quality wines); they also have a defined list that is generally available, with better stuff for sale. But I agree their list is considerably broader than this one.

That said, this list is not bad. :) I do wish there were something bubbly (and I'd be fine with a Spanish cava), but the list includes wines that I did not hear when I called the Azamara help line. I'll need to discuss with my wife, but, even if we want a little upgrade, we're not looking at a lot of money. Sure wish the release had been a few days earlier; it would have alleviated a lot of unnecessary anxiety.

BUT, I do sympathize with the beer drinkers. Becks (now made by AB) is acceptable, but if you want something good and not hoppy, you're out of luck.:(

  7. Thanks for this comment. How does one ask for different wines? Simply by saying, "What else are you pouring this evening?"

Although our menus were different from those above, the wine selection offered was the same. They are fairly low end wines, and I asked for and was served better complementary wines including a nice Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, and Conundrum which is a nice California white blend. Silversea is trying to cut back on the wines, as last year Conundrum was poured as the main white wine offered in the Restaurant one evening.
