Just got back from a 10 day cruise on the carnival sunrise and was very diappointed in the ship. The make over did nothing for it. The upgraded the cabins to make it for more people to be on the ship. This was a horrible idea. It has became way over crowded. Several times we had no place to eat and had to take food back to the room. Food was mediocre at best several times did we end up with cold food or soggy food from the deli. The smoke from the casino was horrible. No ventilation at all. And it travels through out the ship and you can smell it all over. For the only place to smoke is the casino it's in a horrible place bc it's right in the middle of the ship so you gotta walk through it to get to anywhere you really want to go. It also did not have very many activities for the kids compared to other fleets like royal carribean.
Of course, it is the “ made over” Triumph which failed multiple sanitation & food safety inspections. No surprise what-so-ever

Your number is tied to the SIM, so my understanding is that you could use apps like FaceTime, What'sApp, Hangouts, Skype, etc. but won't be able to receive traditional WiFi calling (i.e. if somebody calls your cell phone number from another cell or landline) unless you have the SIM card.
When we travel with foreign sims (from country you are visiting), the sim assigns a different phone number. Only calls to that number come to phone, not your home phone number calls

Take a cruise that stops at Progresso, much closer to CI.

CoCo Cay is a private island. No town but there is a craft/straw market. I recommend you go the the CoCo Cay page on RCCI website for an explanation of what is available. It is definitely a beach day stop.

We are in the final stages of packing for our Carnival Sunshine cruise. We have a direct flight from Albany, NY to Orlando, FL. I plan to attach 2 luggage tags to each bag before we leave home. They are printed in color and will be laminated and attached with cable ties. I haven't cruised in a while, but do remember doing the same in the past and the tags have always remained intact until we retrieved them at the destination airport. I figure it gives an extra layer of protection in case the bags are "misplaced" giving a better chance of the bags making it to the ship. I will have spare tags in my carryon in case they are needed. What do you all think?
Your Carnival tags are of no value while your luggage is being handled/processed through the airport facilities. Just something else to get in the way of the handlers properly guiding your bags onto the correct flight.

I always wonder if those with the strongest opinion to leave passports locked in ship’s safe have actually done any foreign travel. I’ll bet very few.
With just a bit of diligence and attention to safety, one can safely carry their passport all over the world with very little risk. And my wife & I and thousands of others are proof of that.
And I’m not talking about American territories or US tourist dependent Caribbean islands. I mean REAL FOREIGN TRAVEL.

My husband, myself, & our 2 daughters are cruising in April to Roatan, Belize City, & Cozumel. My husband is the only one of us who has a passport right now. I was going to get passports for everyone, but it is quite expensive & my husband says we will only need a birth certificate for this closed loop cruise. I was worried about what the procedure would be during an emergency so I called Royal Caribbean and asked if there was an emergency if we would be able to fly home without a passport. The gentleman I spoke to said yes, but that doesn't sound right to me. Don't you always need a passport to fly in/out of the country (United States)? I know it's always a good idea to have passports, but I would rather use that money on excursions.
I'll bet that if something happens which requires you to fly home, but it takes a couple days to acquire the required paperwork, in hindsight you would have been willing to pay twice the cost to have passports for everyone in hand. Just saying ...

Something is not right. “Cruises” total payment is Cheaper than RCCL on their site.
This is a violation of RCCL.
When I call Royal, they won’t honor the price.
I called “Cruises” and asked them about this. The unknowledgeable person kept talking about port charges.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for a long time. No one ever picked up.
Royal said their policy is still the same. No website can advertise a lower price. But this large TA IS!
Royal said when you call they can offer a lower price because of group bookings, etc., but NOT on their website.
Anyone else noticing this?
who do I email about this violation?
I want the lower price.
Example: 4B 3/15 Navigator Royal says $1657. “Cruises” says $1491.
Big difference when you use the 150%.
Why does this bother you ?? Let those who want to book with the TA do so.

We have passports but I'm thinking I'm also gonna throw our BC's in the backpack. You just never know.
If you have/bring passports, why bother with birth certificates ??

The timing with giving your CC# to RC and the timing of the fraud may just have been a coincidence.

this is why i put the final payment due date on my phone calendar and set it to send me a reminder a few days prior
Everybody who has a cell phone has calendar (even old flip phones).
Have never missed a final payment date, NEVER !

All ships have unsweetened iced tea 24 hours a day on the Lido deck,
The tea on Lido Deck is water mixed with tea flavoring from a dispenser. If you are used to brewed tea, you will probably not like it. It has nasty taste.

OOOPS - seems threadstarter forgot about tips. I bought one of the Black Friday % off specials earlier today and the gratuities were added to the total for checkout.

A very small % of cruisers follow Cruise Critic. By removing the item, you immensely decreased the owner’s chances of getting it back. Let’s hope it just has financial value and not any sentimental importance.
There have been many identical posts here over the years, past experience shows removing the item is a poor choice.

Hello all
I found an item that had slipped under the lining of the safe on our last day. I did not have time to hand it into guest services - and to be honest, thought it was costume.
The cabin number was 8218. We were on the last October med sailing before the transatlantic.
Item could have been there for some time!
I have now found it is definitely not costume and need to return it to the owner.
Its a long shot....
if you think it might be yours please contact me.
many thanks
How can you not have time to hand it over to ship's personnel (Guest services, room steward, ships officer) ?
Now the person who lost it has just about zero chance of getting it back.

Online checkin-anytime - no longer possible until 90 days from cruise date
Final payment -at least 90 days out - 75 days from cruise date
Boarding pass availability-after final payment and when Carnival opens it.
We are leaving on a PC cruise Jan 19, final payment Oct 21 and boarding pass availability did not open until Nov 1.
See above

You already answered your own question...
The lady who cancelled the booking was the "lead" passenger.
Enough said...

How many people leave the boat at ports and take their passport out of the safe with them.
Many of us do - except those who are afraid of losing everything (social security card, passport, Insurance ID Card, Driver's License) Seems like a terrible life to live with all that fear.

The font is terrible.

Two, but there should be at least 2 USB plugs in addition.
Bring a power strip without a surge protector if you need more plugs

RCCL doesn't care what/how much prepackaged food you bring on board. In fact, they would prefer you eat your food instead of theirs.
