I give them the emergency contact number for the ship.
If it is not an emergency, I do not want to hear from anyone at home when on vacation.
Everyone can catch up when we get home.
Now, where is that “Like” button ?
With our cruise coming up and having teenaged kids, the thought of a few hundred dollar phone bill is scary.Between Facebook, texts, iMessages and whatever else, I have two questions:
1- What have you found to be the best and easiest way to keep in touch with those at home?
2- What have you found is the cheapest way to keep in touch with those at home?
Thanks for all in the input...........
Question accurately answered at 9:38 AM in the 1st thread

Specifically asking for the Carnival Freedom, but are kids allowed to wear mermaid tails in the pools? I'm referring to the type shown here. Some pools seem to allow them, while others don't, and my daughter is extremely excited to get to use hers. Does anyone know if it'll be a problem?
Guessing by your CC join date this is your 1st cruise.
As a heads up, the pools are really small for a ship with 2400+ people aboard.

Of course not. If the weather is dangerous, Carnival will do what they need to do to avoid the storm.
Their options are numerous, the weather will dictate their response.

Exactly why I never do “auto” payments for anything.
Some time ago I received an updated card with extended expiration date. That caused an auto-payment to be declined (I did get it quickly fixed) but NEVER, NEVER again for auto-payments

Don’t try it online, call Carnival.
I have changed cruises when I had non-refundable deposits, Carnival just took a $50 per person fee.
The reminder of the deposit was transferred to new cruise.
-
Yep, Carnival recently blocked online check-in access until you are 90 days out from your cruise.
-
Carnival might have reached the “too much” price point already.
FTTF was released for our cruise on May 1st.
Here it is over a month & a half later and it’s still available.

or you can just bring a note from your mother.
+10 lol !

Some of you must be cranky.
Not cranky at all, those lamps are a VERY common fixture in about every hotel room for years now and they are all the same setup.

Nope, they will close at their regular times (check Fun Times)
-
Carnival never allows passengers to select nor assigns boarding times, only check-in times.
As stated, the time which boarding begins varies, your boarding time will vary based on how many passengers check-in before you.
No way to micro-manage this.

Does anyone know if the Vista has them? Getting on Saturday!
When I was on the Vista, it had 2 USB ports above the desk but no USB ports in the bedside lamps
I am curious, it looks like 3 but the center looks different. The center is the on/off switch - they are just the same as the lamps in most hotels (2 USB jacks and an on/off switch on the front bottom panel of the lamp)
Some of you must not travel very often

The Internet on the ships (with the exception of the new Horizon - it has a much faster Internet option installed) is pretty slow. Even when I was on the Vista, the Internet was S-L-O-W

Hi
You have to be able to find the lower price for the same cabin class on the Carnival site to get the price reduction.
Just wanted to say, if there is a price reduction available now, take it now. The prices can fluctuate daily/hourly. If the price goes back up before you submit your request, you won't get it.
have a great cruise
Except the the threadstarter doesn't want to pay the additional deposit (the original rate had a reduced deposit)
So the threadstarter will have to decide between keeping higher rate and lower deposit or getting lower rate with higher deposit.

Hello Poz, which coves are under the galley?
Check the deck plans on Carnival website

Which Skyride are you referring to?

Can you point me to one of those multiple threads please.
Why would I mislead you about this ?? (as if you don't believe me)

That's enough - I made my point
Believe it or not, you can answer almost every question one could have by using the search function or by browsing the threads (every question has been asked & answered multiple times) - of course there are some notorious thread starters here would would rather just make a new thread for every idea that pops into their head

Check-in is available through those loopholes now. You can give guest info, citizenship info, travel info, choose stateroom preferences, set up your account, and accept the contract. What you can't do is choose a check-in time/arrival appointment.
That is what I was "trying" to state, the option to choose check-in time is not yet available for those more than 90 days out..

Threadstarter has been a member here 8 years.
During that 8 years, tipping, tipping breakdown, Carnival stealing the tips and every other imaginable subject about tipping have been discussed ad nauseum.
And yet, the same accusations are raised over & over & over & ...
I wonder how many others will read the threadstarter's initial post, then go to some other website and post "I just read recently that not all of the tips that are part of the pre-paid gratuities actually goes to crew members"
Why, oh why ??

I called to inquire about FTTF on my cruise and they have no idea if:
- It's sold out
- It hasn't been offered yet
- It will ever be offered
While I was on the phone, I asked about the 12-pack of soda per person and they confirmed that. I asked if it could be checked into luggage or if it MUST be carried on. They said I can check it if it's in a luggage bag. That's the first I've ever heard of that.
The 1st cruise for the Horizon in Miami for which FTTF is being offered in the December 1st, 2018 cruise. Carnival has it posted in their FAQ's under FTTF.
- It's sold out
-
Hmmm. I'm not sure how she was able to pre-pay just hers and not yours. It was my understanding that If you are trying to pre -pay them you will be required to pre-pay for both wether online or over the phone. I just ran into this issue back in April before our cruise.
Yep, I have been denied pre-paying gratuities for just 1 of the 2 cabin occupants also (wife & I split up to get better rate on 2 cabins)
-
Yep, you're being paranoid.
-
Do you think that because there really is no advantage to booking onboard this has contributed to booking farther out?
Sent from my iPad using Forums
IMHO, the best prices are obtained in these days by booking early.
Carnival's last minute rates are not what they used to be.
-
If it is OK with you, Carnival certainly doesn't care.
Odds of getting a table for 30 one night with "Your Time DInning'?

Yep, prolific thread starter, that’s for sure !
Apparently there are a bunch of us who feel this way. This board is about helping others, but this poster posts things multiple times, apparently won’t browse existing threads nor use Google or search function here to help themself.
