I did a short solo cruise last year and I had the odd moments of what to do and how to act. The next cruise I went with a guy who likes me but I felt like the whole cruise, I wanted him to go. Ha Ha. Now I signed up solo on Independence of the Seas, 4/25/15 and a New Years cruise 12/28/15. Here we go jumping in with both feet trying to have more confidence at this. Maybe if I losen up more or have more drinks. Any tips let me know.

I was able to save about $300 on a PR cabin. So I also booked a New Years cruise too. Never done one always wanted to.

Even if you are sailing alone you still get the bogoho price.

Im weighing the difference with a tour where you receive flight tickets against just going on my own.

does anybody know if the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara is in walking distance from where Celebrity docks? I think its fairly close but unsure.

If so do I head South on main street and where do I turn up to the Funk Zone

You know the formal picture areas?

Well they now have timers on the cameras. I had to get the family together, run to set the timer and run back to be in the picture.

The picture with the Captain was a life size cardboard cut out of him, then run and set the timer again and run back.

Soon we maybe carrying around our own video cameras to film our own vacations.

The humiliation of it all.

I remember being on the Oasis and Ken Rush had a film crew, filming an introduction to different areas on the ship. When the camera was filming he was on and fun. When the camera was off the witchy diva came out. Changed my whole opinion on him. But I have still have to admit when he is on he is good at it.

Do Captains still do 10 weeks on and off with inaugural sailings?

I hear its about 8 weeks on and 8 weeks off? Is that true? On the inaugural sailings is that still true or do they sail longer?

If he is still on the millennium he must be in Hong Kong with all the issues they were having.:eek:

Is there a way to find out through the cruise line. Is it posted somewhere beside people making a list? It could slightly influence what ship I might choose.

I always use a crossbody bag for hands free travel. There are alot of choices of style and color. If you get a solid color it may go with everything you are wearing as long as you are wearing solid color clothes or some of the bags color in the print. Last vacation all my clothes were black and white and I used a red crossbody bag. One of my favorite style is the Tignanello brand. These have a zippered pocket in the front that act as your wallet. Less room taken up in the bag with your wallet. What is also good about these bags they wear very well. They are drum died so you wont see scratches if you are hard on your bag when traveling.

If you go to TJ Maxx, Dillards or Macy you will find something that fits your style. My opinion Vera Bradley is too cutsie.

Question: Why are all you people who dont carry a purse on vacation answering this question when thats not what this person wants?
