I am not a fan of her humor and find it mean sometimes. However, she is a comedienne who has made her way for 1,000 years ( okay, okay 100) in this business by being mean, crass and offensive. That is her humor. Always has been. It was ridiculous of NCL to partner with her then get mad that she said something offensive and inappropriate. Pick a safe celebrity then in the first place. Firing her was silly.

"Vibe - Vibe was never crowded. A very nice place to unwind and relax. Unfortunately, we didn’t really get to enjoy it much. I would recommend it if you enjoy relaxing pool side - definitely a good deal. In all honesty, we really enjoyed the Spice H20 deck. It is also adults only (until late night) and has more space, also has a bar, and the same amount of hot tubs. Every time we went, it wasn’t at all crowded, unless there was an event there - so really, unless you want to relax on the decks after sunset, the Vibe also wasn’t necessary (for us at least)."
Thank you! This is exactly the info I wanted. I think we'll skip Vibe and just hang out in H2O!

A friend in the maritime industry says that this is very, very common. Said the statistics are exactly like the guy in the article said. Happens on a high % of cruises.

Does the studio lounge on breakaway have the wine dispensers available 24 hrs a day? Is there a bar where you can buy cocktails in the lounge?
-
I see from some of the dining menus that speciality martinis are around $9 so I know those won't be included. But what about regular martinis? Dirty vodka martini? Cosmo? Apple martini? What is the cost of that sort of basic martini?
Are the wine machines on breakaway ( the ones where you dispense your own wine) included?

Great review. Thanks so much. Were you going to talk about H2O also?

Thank you!

A few more Platinum questions:
1) two people are Platinum members but are staying in the same room. Do they each get a coupon for "dinner for two plus a bottle of wine" at Le Bistro?
2) do each get to send a bag of laundry?
3) can you substitute Cagneys for Le Bistro if willing to pay the difference?
4) I am surprising my parents ( who are both Platinum) by booking my own cabin & joining them. I am not Platinum. Will they allow the three of us to board priority together? If not, I may just not surprise them until on the ship. I don't want them to not do their special boarding b/c they want to stay with me.
Thanks!

The only time we waited for the MDR was on Epic and they gave free champagne while you waited. Worth a 15 minute wait!

For those of you who got the " letter"- were you all Platinum? Travel Agents? Have high casino status? How did you book it? Just trying to figure out who might get " the letter"!

Yes, that is why I was asking. I don't want any hassle but I am taking the train from NJ and certainly can't carry a case of soda and a case of water plus a suitcase. If I could put it in a suitcase that rolls, I'd be good to go.
-
Can I put the soda and water in a suitcase and check it? Or does it have to be just sticking a luggage tag on the case of soda itself (so they can see it)
-
Forgive me, I know this has been posted. If I want to bring a 12 pk of Pepsi or water, can iI check it or do I have to bring it through security as a carry on?
Also, how are they at the NYC port with alcohol? I remember it was a breeze to get by in Barcelona because of where duty free was.

He's actually doing quite well and it is already 9 mths passed. He should be fine. Balance is fine. I just want to be sure he has an alternative if he can't get back up. We plan to stop at each beach so I think the walk between the 5 beaches will be fine with lots of rest stops. Thanks for the info.
-
My parents are 70, dad with recent heart surgery. I want to be sure there is an alternative way up if he is too tired from the walk. We'll do Warwick first and walk to Horseshoe. Are you saying that is an easy or tough walk?
-
My goodness, I would never want to wear just a bathing suit in public. That's what cover ups are made for-no need to change necessarily.
Thanks for the info.
Still looking for info on which beaches have the $2 shuttle from the bus? How steep is the walk from bus stop down to beach?(2 fit 70 yr olds plus me-unfit 40 yr old)
-
walk the beach path that connects these 5 beaches; Horseshoe Bay Beach, Chaplin Bay, Stonehole Bay, Jobson's Cove , and Warwick Long Bay, and sample each beach ;
If i do the above, how long of a walk between Horseshoe & Warwick? Is it an easy marked path? Which beaches of these 5 have facilities? Which has a shuttle back to bus route road? Are all close to a bus stop? Is one easier than another to walk down to from bus stop?
Thank you!
-
We want to visit a few beaches for an hour or so each. Warwick and, horseshoe beach are on our list as is Elbow beach. I think we want to bus from port. Which one is nearest to port? Warwick? If we get off there, is the path down to the beach clearly marked? How far & how steep? Do multiple beaches offer the shuttle or only be? Which one?
After the beach, we plan to walk around Hamilton and then ferry back. Or would you do Hamilton first, then beaches then back to ship?

Not sure what you are watching but almost every category and every May sailing on Breakaway has dropped dramatically over the past 6 weeks. First a little and then a lot last week. It is not filling up as expected. They are also coming down ( although not as dramatically) for end of June which is a week most schools are already let out. That to me indicates, we'll see breakaway drop further for summer cruises and fall cruises.
Last week of August is always a somewhat discounted sailing ( compared to rest of the summer) because it is hurricane season and because many kids are back in school. I think you'll see prices come down.
And, yes, of course, October will be even cheaper.
-
Hurricane season and the week or week after kids go back to school in the NE. It will be a very light sailing especially from a kids on- board perspective. You'll have no issue getting a cabin booking this sailing 30-45 days out.
