Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We had Sunset Veranda cabin 11293 (deck 11 Beyond)(Feb2023) It was great...no problems. Would do it again!
  2. Just looked at my NCL Sailing(Breakaway)on 10/20/24 out of NYC, it looks like no stop to Bar Harbor on Wed 10/23 per the website maine.portcall.com. It looks like they swapped days according to this website, Portland is now 10/23 and not 10/22 as was scheduled. It appears that Boston is the swapped port on 10/22. Would have loved the Bar Harbor stop. Not sure if riding this out or a date change will work out. Weighing options?
  3. We sailed with Celebrity on ten out of seventeen cruises. We never sailed NCL, so I could not give a comparison but I was on a September 2022 Alaska Celebrity sailing. It did feel a bit older but we were so busy it didn't bother us to much. I picked it for the itinerary. That was the primary reason. I did consider NCL, RCI and Princess for Alaska but their itinerary did not work for me. Some ports are the same and some are not. My past experience with Celebrity also carried weight so I choose them. Very happy I did. Loved Alaska.... would go again. Have a wonderful trip.
  4. We were on the Beyond sailing in January and dined at Eden. We really enjoyed it very much. We had specialty cocktail drinks before dinner from their menu called Shaman and Forbidden. Very good. Our entree’s were really good. Lobster and short rib/ filet dish. We made and paid for the reservation back in October for the January cruise. It appeared to be a popular place and positive buzz about it. Check the menu on the website. I would think it would be the same or similar across the ships, but I’m not sure. I would do it again.
  5. We stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel for one night pre-cruise this past September 2022. I was a little bit on the fence about it based on the trip advisor reviews, however this hotel worked out just fine. You really can't beat the location as other posters have said. We took the cruise package that included luggage transfer service and breakfast. Based on my search back then, all hotels in Vancouver seem to be higher in price. If you stay further out you need to factor in time and transportation costs to get to Canada Place pier. If I were to do it again, I would check out the Fairmont Waterfront and some of these other hotels that posters mention. I would stay at the Pan Pacific again. Safe travels.
