  1. Oh wow that is super lucky!!! We’ve been on 10 or so cruises and so far 1/2 of them we had a missed port. We didn’t care too much re costa maya but fingers crossed for coco cay that would be a tough one to miss
  2. My 10 year old son did it this morning and really enjoyed it. Cool and unique experience. It lasts less than a minute but you do get to do it twice. He would recommend. We did it on port day so less expensive and it was not busy at all but generally seems like it’s easy to get in as it didn’t look too busy.
  3. We had purposely decided to stay on boat and not go out on Cozumel to take advantage of slides with no lineups. we got there and several of the slides were closed to do film crew. I understand there is no good time to do this but maybe instead of 10 am they could have done super early in the day? Just thought I’d mention in case others plan a day like us. also, our last 2 cruises we did not stop in costa maya. It is a super hard port to dock, staff said they almost never stop so something to keep in mind re managing kids expectations.
  4. She seems so happy! Tons of daily physical activity and people to play with. Being alone st home while parents work 8-5 doesn’t seem much better? This is likely a very debatable subject but I find it cool for her to be on ship
  5. Happy kids, I did not see her but the girls did and were so happy!
  6. Well I was thinking if anyone else was on the sailing reading this but yes roll call would have been better. I was also prompting for people to jump in with they rover encounter stories
  7. We did. They don’t share details which I can understand as they likely only take her out when it’s not too crowded
  8. We are on Icon this week. Day 3 and still have not seen Rover. Has anyone seen her around?
  9. For our 03/02 sailing it only showed up like a week before.
  10. Thanks everyone. We are also on the ship and could see it going on but we weren’t sure what the situation was. 8 days at sea on that boat, glad we were able to bring them onboard!
  11. Just curious, does anyone have any details on the rescue that happened today?
  12. We had 1pm and showed up around 1030am yesterday and we boarded within 5 minutes. We are in a suite.
  13. I’m on Icon now. I noticed it on boarding day (yesterday) but not at all today re smell.
  14. We just got off last Sunday. We could walk off at 630 with our luggage. You don’t go through customs or security so you could be in a taxi by 640 am. We had a 950am flight to Paris and we got to the airport with like 2 hrs to kill (we were worried it would be tight)
  15. We just got off the boat a few days ago. Parents of our friends on the same ship had their passports and money stolen at the airport. They had everything in a folder in a zipped bag. Make sure you separate your stuff and be very careful
  16. On the train back to the port so thought I’d provide an update on what we did. we left the boat at 8am and took the bus to the train station. It was $6 per person and the bus is well indicated when you turn left outside the terminal, very easy to find. we got to the train station around 830 and we had bought express tickets at 916 but saw on the board there was a train at 842 so we bought tickets for that one from a machine as we got to roma ostienso 30 minutes before. From there we took a taxi (easy to find at terminal) to the colosseum (around $10) at the colosseum we walked around, took pictures and then walked to trevi fountain. It was an easy walk so I would recommend walking instead of taxi. After Trevi, we walked to Pantheon where we sat at a restaurant and shared a pre-lunch pizza and beverages. It was around 11 by then. After that, we went to Piazza Navona and walked around a bit and went to our lunch reservation which was close to there at 1230. After lunch, we walked to Transverse area for some Gelato. The gelato place was great but Transverse area was not as great as we expected. We walked all the way to the train station (around 2km) and got lucky that a train was leaving at that exact moment so we grabbed it as kids were too tired to stay until our Ce express train. It was very hot outside. We enjoyed our day, got to see some sights and eat some Italian food
  17. Hi, we are on the 916 direct train. We are on Symphony of the seas. From the port, can we easily catch a taxi to train station? What time would you recommend 830? if this is not an option, how does the bus to train work? Does it leave every x minutes? Do you have to buy tickets in advance or you pay driver? we will be there tomorrow Thanks!
  18. Ok, thanks. We did get escorted off this morning. You meet them in lounge and follow them but doesn’t really save time as you end up in same line as everyone. If you’re staying on deck 17 (same as lounge) the big benefit is they block an elevator so you don’t have to wait for elevators which sometimes can be long
  19. Hi, we are onboard symphony of seas in sky class suite. It’s day 3 and we still have not seen our concierge is this normal? We did see some concierges in suite lounge and some did send an email pre-cruise but I seem to recall in the past they would pop in the suites to see if we needed anything, they helped escort you off ship, etc. but maybe I’m getting confused with celebrity. not a big deal and service in suite lounge is great, just curious
  20. Any thoughts on colisseum? We arrive there soon. On ship now.
  21. I found a tour....11am which seems ideal as train arrives at 10h10am but it is $300 EUR for 4 people...on Viator. It's 75 minutes. Description; Waiting in admission lines in Rome can be daunting, especially during summer when crowds swell and temperatures soar. On this small-group tour, save time by skipping admission lines at the Colosseum, one of the most visited—and crowded—attractions in the world. That should leave you with peace of mind and a little more time to explore one of Italy’s most compelling attractions. A guided small-group tour of the Colosseum in Rome Save time spent waiting in line with “express” admission Travel with a guide: Learn about ancient Roman history Access the ground floor, second level, Forum, and Palatine HillRead more about Colosseum Small Group Experience Official Guided Tour & Ticket included - https://www.viator.com/tours/Rome/Colosseo-Express-Small-Group-Guided-Tour-With-Tickets-Included/d511-227285P1?mcid=56757
  22. I went on the site to buy colosseum tickets and they are sold out. I know we are too last minute (it's 06/29). Is it still worth going to the colosseum without tickets, i.e. is there an area to take pictures of the outside, etc? Do they sell tickets onsite just that the line will be much longer? We only wanted to spend around an hour max as after the colosseum we wanted to go to Trevi/Pantheon area....we found a few tours on viator but they include the forum and much longer
  23. I think we will flip it around as my son really wants to see the colosseum.....so I was thinking we would cab to colosseum and then cab to piazza navona and then walk around that area (Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi). What is the latest you would leave that area by cab for a 4h30 train? (Roma Ostiense).
