We had a handicap Mini Suite on Epic. If you look at deck plans when doing mock booking you will see a square, this indicates a handicap room. Ours was port side in the rear. Good Luck and enjoy the Epic, we loved her.

I don’t think we will ever forget our first cruise (1999) on Carnival Destiny. We had a two top table next to a family of four. Every night that family was so loud and demanding we felt bad for our Servers. On the last night, when you customarily gave your Servers their “envelopes” the family of four was a no show. Twenty years later I still feel bad for how hard they worked to please everyone.

Our total NCL cruise rate was $985 less this week . We are months after final payment but contacted NCL to see what they would offer. We got $250 OBC and I was happy with that. #doesnthurttoask.

No coffee, no water, not sure about virgin frozen drinks but I think they are included.

Yes, we were on the Dawn in Dec 2018 and loved having breakfast and lunch in Modenero. Enjoy your cruise!

I have enjoyed the Oslo Bucco many times. Yummy

We will be on that cruise also and I’m trying to figure out how to pack lightly but seems impossible.

I have been reading and reading and reading all these posts about class distinction and steerage ( thank you for posting the Wikipedia definition). And quite frankly it makes me sad that anyone feels like class separation exists amongst cruise ship passengers. Aren’t we all excited to be cruising? Don’t we look forward to meeting new people and sharing our experiences?
I feel awkward because after 30 cruises we are finally splurging on a Haven cabin.
I’ll share with you why. Last year we did a TA (balcony). My husband and I were on the Epic Sun Deck and met a lady that was sailing in a OS in the Haven. She said they chose that room because her husband was dying and she wanted his last cruise to be the best they could have. She took us to her cabin and we met her husband. I was glad to spend some time sharing our day and lives with them.
When we left my husband said “I’ll be 75 next year do you think we can do a Haven someday before it’s too late for us to enjoy it” One year later and 3 heart operations, 2 knee replacements, and numerous health issues we are booked on a 19 day TA in the Haven in Oct 2019.
I certainly don’t feel privileged because we can do this, I feel blessed because my husband gets to experience a Haven cabin before he can no longer enjoy it.
Enjoy the journey and treasure every cruising day you have, it’s a privilege many never get to have.
I hope to meet many more fellow cruisers and would love to listen.

We recently used command strip hooks and they worked perfectly. Very easy to apply and remove. We also used just the strips to apply our door decorations, worked great.

We sailed Dec 2018 in a Dawn suite. My husband had a knee replacement 30 days before so I upgraded from mini to suite so he would be more comfortable. The room size was awesome, the Butler, Johnathan, was very attentive, and breakfast/lunch in Moderno was great. I really recommend upgrading.
in Oct we are doing a 19 day TA on Getaway Haven suite. Can’t wait to be pampered again.

We just got off of the Carnival Vista yesterday, the smoke in the casino was awful. It’s true there are many non-gamblers standing around and smoking which made matters much worse. Why can’t Carnival recognize that they loose business by allowing smoking in their casino?

We are booked on the Oct 20, 2019 Getaway 19 day TA, in Haven and only got 4 Specialty Dining.

This happened shortly after us booking a 19 day TA on Getaway from Copenhagen to New Orleans scheduled for 10/20/2019. A quick call to NCL and I was assured it was not cancelled. After about a month the cruise reappeared but with only Inside rooms available, NCL said the cruise is fully booked and probably will have more cabins available closer to our June final payment.

Galveston Cruisers..... I was just reading the terms of the Cheers pkg and saw that for those sailing out of TX the Cheers pkg does not start until the 2nd day of the cruise. So for a 7 day cruise would you then be charged for 6 days and the drinks etc. you consume on embarkation are charged per drink? I’d like to hear from those that sailed from Galveston and your experience. Thank you.

Be sure to ask for wheelchair assistance before you depart for your cruise. We did this when my husband had his knee replaced 30 days prior to cruising and they were very accomodating.

I loved the mini suite we had on the Epic. We did b2b for 25 days and I thought the room was very nice. There was certainly ample storage for 2 people and while lots of folks do not the the split bath arrangement I liked it.

I recently travelled to NYC and unfortunately had to have emergency surgery while there. When discharged I took Uber XL from NYC to Newark airport. The cost was $70 plus my tip. I thought that was very reasonable and would use that service again in the future. I have also used Airbrook car service their charge was $110. Check out both options.

We were on the Dawn in Dec and I loved having breakfast in Moderno. The menu is the same everyday but you should always be able to find something you enjoy. We only ate lunch there 2 days but the food and service were fabulous. Enjoy!

I recently booked with 5 perks plus airfare, only to find out that San Antonio is not on the list of cities they book from. No you do not get to choose your airline or even flight. I was however given $100 off per person on the cruise fare. This was a TA cruise from Copenhagen to NO.

We did the Rome in Limo for all 3 Italy ports. It was a fabulous choice and I would recommend it to anyone. The drivers really listened to what we wanted and when it came to choosing a non-touristy restaurant they were spot on. Don’t miss this great opportunity.

I have flown SWA many times and have seen many an argument because of saving seats. I really don’t mind if its for 1 other person but for a group I think it should not be allowed. Sure it would be a great saving for only 1 to pay and save 5 seats for friends etc. but its just not right.

I was concerned about this also so I called NCL and was lucky to speak with someone very familiar with the Getaway. Our TA told me mini suites only had tubs. But wanted to confirm that with NCL, the agent I spoke with said that MB category on Getaway have showers. Bingo! We recently traveled on the Epic in a mini suite we had a MB and it was a fabulous shower. I love the Epic mini suite storage.

It’s very confusing because our next booking shows Latitudes and Latitudes Rew. You would think the Latitudes Rew meant double points but it doesn’t, I was told by NCL it means you are a Latitudes Rewards member. The Latitudes means double points. Let the buyer beware.

We did 15 day TA and it was 1 per cruise. Yes it does make a difference especially if you have pre/post days too.
which port does Norwegian use in San Juan

There are some hotels near the Pan Am Pier but we took a taxi from El Convento in OSJ. I don’t recall the fare but it was not too expensive. Enjoy your cruise.
