Yes, we received the Platinum benefits as well as having the card. We received the Welcome Back note card with the dinner vouchers and laundry service vouchers attached. We used both. We drank the wine and the water we received. We also received the discount on the photos we purchased.

I have never had anyone ask and I wouldn’t offer either. It’s just not right. I suppose, if caught, your UBP would be revolved and never offered again.

Unfortunately I trashed all my old emails regarding the B2B. :( I only have the Platinum keycard that was issued because I save them to refer back to when I cruised and what ship.

ISSUE #2. With my points from the 2nd part of B2B I have enough to be Platinum without the issues above. So this brings me to my next issue. I am booked on another NCL cruise in Dec. I elected my 2 perks to be UBP and Specialty Dining (10 day cruise is 4 nights). I attempted to book the 4 Specialty Dining and 2 Platinum dinners. For a total of 6 dinners. So far I have a confirmation for 5 dinner reservations with $0 charged. So how come I can’t get the 6th one reserved? So I called NCL and was told I have to wait till I board to make our last reservation. My problem is I have already have 5 of 6 completed. I can understand that maybe it would only let me do the 4 perk reservations and nothing additional, which would be the 2 Platinum, but I made a 5th reservation with no charge so my file must recognize that I have more than the 4 Perks for free. Any suggestions?

I traveled on 2 separate bookings on a TA/MED B2B in April. The first half accumulated double Rewards points and, when completed, I would make Platinum. For the 2nd half of my B2B I received my new Platinum keycard (on the 2nd day of B2B) and the benefits of the Platinum Rewards. So far no problem. But yesterday I reviewed my Cruise history and the double points, for my first part, are not there. I called NCL and after 1.5 hours and speaking to 5 different reps I was told that the points for my first half were not double. How could that happen? After the first cruise I needed the double points to make Platinum before taking the 2nd part of my B2B with my new Platinum status on my keycard. I was told NCL does not upgrade levels until it is reviewed by the home office so I had to have my status reviewed before they gave me my new key card. I still have my key card showing Platinum status but unfortunately I shredded the cruise docs after making certain that all the accounting and charges were correct. Any suggestions? Having 15 additional points removed makes a large difference.

We were on the Epic MED cruise in April 2018. We used Rome in Limo at all 3 Italy ports. It was awesome and the highlight of our cruise. They met us at the port and we were able to plan our day according to our likes. The price for 5 was very reasonable and the vehicles were fabulous. Definitely recommend Rome in Limo.

We were lucky enough to make Platinum in 3 cruises. Alaska/14 in 2016 Panama full transit/ 45 in 2018 Transatlantic/45 in 2018. Good planning on my part. I miss the advance booking additional points earned.

We were on the Epic in April and while we did not stay in the Haven we were lucky enough to meet some staying in the DOS and was invited to come in and enjoy their cabin. OMG we fell in love with it, now my hubby wants me to book that cabin for his milestone birthday next year.

We did the TA on Epic April 2018, loved, loved, loved it. While there are some that hate the mini suite arrangement, we loved it. The cabin had so much storage we didn’t use it all. All the entertainment was superb, especially Priscilla and Cirque. While this is a mega ship we never felt lost in the masses.

I saw a posting at 6:30pm today stating NCL has decided to give all the cruisers a 100% credit for a future cruise which can be taken by 2023. NCL should have notified in advance that construction would be ongoing and offered free cancellation or OBC.

My husband and I are Gold members and I understand that we get 50% off each, my question is since this is a 15 day TA would that be per 7 days or is this just a one time offer per cruise regardless of how long the cruise is? Makes a big difference on how much to pack.

We are cruising this week on NCL Epic TA to Barcelona. When I inquired on the one way return airfare, NCL quoted me $1,400 pp. I was able to secure a flight on Delta priced at $700. Double bonus was I used Amex points.

We used 2 certificates on our Transatlantic Cruise we had booked before we did a Panama Cruise, we bought the certificates on the Panama Cruise, Just before final payment Of the TA called and had the certificates applied. I did run into a problem. When we booked the Transatlantic Cruise it was a Latitudes Rewards Cruise earning enough rewards that when we boarded for the B2B MED Cruise we would be Platinum. When I printed out the receipt for using the credits the LR category was gone. I called NCL and was told the Transatlantic was NOT LR but the Med was. Not happy because I was counting on being Platinum for the Med, taking advantage of the free laundry and 2 dinners. I’m not one to argue so I let it go..... well today I booked the Thermal Spa pass, paid for it, and when I printed out the receipt low and behold the Latitudes Reward was notated on our Transatlantic Cruise again. Who knows how but I’m not calling again.

Thank you so much for your review and suggestions. We are sailing on Epic next month in Cabin #8186, also a handicap room. Could you please tell me if the table next to the bed is large enough to put a Cpap machine and is there a plug at that table or should I still bring an extension cord. Thank you

I booked a TA on the Epic on Feb 10,2017 and follow on MED on Feb13,2013. This is a B2B Cruise leaving April 2018. I understood that both of these cruises would acquire additional points. I recently called NCL to confirm that after the 15 day TA we would be Platinum and eligible for the additional perks in that tier. I was told neither cruise qualified for additional rewards and so would not be Platinum until after our MED cruise. I went through all my emails and can only find one showing the Med as being LATREW. However when I called to apply our Cruise Next payment, before our final payment was due, the LATREW was removed. I don’t understand why that happened. No change in cabin or perks, just made a payment.

We were with our friends on the Sun and they won the cruise. They had 1 year to use it, it had to be a Caribbean cruise and they were able to use the credit to book an aft balcony room on the Pearl. They were happy with that.

We have stayed at the El Convento 3 times. I love it there. We enjoy being in Old San Juan and this hotel has so much history. The rooms are not large but the courtyard and rooftop (small) pool we just what we hoped for. Food was fabulous.

We have been on the Sun twice and really enjoyed LeBistro. The food was wonderful and service superb.

I am beyond disappointed with NCL and that takes a lot with me. Ever time I call to discuss my issues I get a different answer. The NCL Rep I booked with last year is no longer with NCL and according to NCL we are on our own. So much for customer service. We’ve done 23 cruises, only 2 with NCL, so I am not new to this. I’ll make the best of it.

We went to the Glow Party on the Sun and had so much fun. Looking forward to doing it again on Epic B2B TA and MED in April.

There is an option to request wine in glass and half pour. Still within the max price for UBP and easier for waitstaff.
-
Our last 2 cruises were on NCL and we chose UBP both times. If you have more than 2 drinks or wine each day it is definitely worth it. I suggest getting to know the bartender and occassionly tipping then an extra dollar or two. We got excellent service and generous drinks.
-
We just got off the Sun and had UBP. Wine was offered as a single glass or glass and half option. We usually opted for the larger glass size. Although we paid the Service Charge when booking we always left 1 or 2 dollars additional. We tried to frequent the same bar and found the service outstanding after the first visit. (Stay away from the pool bar, most drinks are served in a plastic cup) In the evenings we stopped at the same bar for a Hennessy and always received a generous amount in a Brandy Snifter. The bartender always had 2 glasses set aside for us and when we walked in he filled them immediately. A little kindness and respect for the hard working staff on cruise ships goes a long way to making your cruise so much more enjoyable.

We were on the Sun and disembarked in MIA on Oct 20. We did not opt for self disembark and choose the NCL transfer to FLL. We wouldn’t do that again. First our time to get off the ship was 9:15 we boarded the transfer bus around 9:35 but the bus had to wait until it was full before leaving. To top it off once we were ready to leave the driver announced “Just to make sure, everyone is going to FLL today, right?” From the back came a voice “No we are going to MIA” . After loading everyone’s bags, he had to unload countless bags to find this couples posessions and reload. Needless to say it was after 12:00 when we got to FLL. If we sailed to MIA again and booked FLL flight out, I’d for sure do self assist off and get my own taxi or car service. It’s doable, good luck and enjoy your cruise.

Thank you for the link on the pointers for how to reserve the Specialty Restaurants, excellent information. I guess since I have 5 of the 6 booked I’ll wait till we get on board and take my chances on getting a good time for Moderno.
