Cruise lines have designed all their new ships for family's not for old people. They were counting on the family market. Maybe they can get the old people to play laser tag, bumper cars and ride the rollercoaster. I don't know, but I'm guessing they prefer the smaller ships.

As far as the fragility of the cruise industry that's not my problem. My life has been fine over the last year without cruises. I enjoy cruises and I'd like to go on one again someday, but it's not the end of the world if the cruise lines don't survive.

Not sure how old you are, but I am in my 60's and I love all the new features and plan to partake in them when I sail the Mardi Gras. (Lord willing) I love rollercoasters and the sky course even basketball still, heck my MIL is 76 years old and she can out last me. LOL!!!

As far as caring if the cruise lines survive, well I most certainly care as well as I care about the many other vacay destinations I do, just because one is passionate about cruising does not mean that's the only vacay they do. I'm just saying!!!

Great news. Sounds like TX governor had some sense and put a out in there. Gets to look good in front of the cameras and get the attention but not hamper cruising business on the back end. Best of both worlds and a smart move. Won't have to worry about saving face, unlike his buddy from the south east. Well played.

    Yep!!!

With the restrictions and the "what ifs"  it would be too stressful IMO to book a cruise if unvax.  I think very few people would want to risk being turned away at the port,  or getting to a scheduled port and not being able to debark due to that Countries COVID guidelines,  and having to wear a mask while 95 percent of remaining passengers don't, and being restricted to certain areas.   Going with all passengers vaxed during the first few months of initial cruising is in the best interest to the cruiselines and passengers for monetary, health and less stress reasons.

    I agree!!!

I would like to book a cruise for next August (2022) on Carnival Vista. Me and husband but he can't walk very far without tiring/hurting. May be pushing him in wheelchair just so  we can go, no problem.

Just a suggestion, but have you though about renting a electric chair just for the cruise? It may make it easier on you and more independent for him. As far as ports I would choose Grand Cayman, but likes others have said, it is a tender port.

I have been joining in the discussions/arguments about cruises, vaccines, masks, CDC guidelines and State laws just like so many others.  Sure, it's fun.  But it is becoming increasing clear that while the situtation was totally stagnant for so long, at this point it is changing daily, if not hourly.  No matter what anyone from the cruise lines say, from customer service reps to CEOs, it seems to change almost instantly.   Our cruises will go or not go, and we may not be sure exactly what is going on until we board, and it may change after that.  The terms and conditions we all agreed to when we booked our cruise actually allows this, whether we like it or not.  I am totally certain that the cruise lines like it less than we do.

  6. Yum!!!  $38 per adult, not bad for the entrees listed I can't wait to read reviews, that 9 oz Broiled Lobster Tail crab risotto, drawn butter or that Grilled Branzino roasted fennel, carrots, champagne flavored broth, parsley butter are calling my name!!! LOL!!!

  7. It's only for one unfortunately, but my travel mate had no problem getting drinks too as I just ordered two drinks at a time with no problem. They got so use to us that they would automatically bring both of us a drink when I ordered. Plus, good tipping helps with that.😜

  8. I am willing to do what ever it takes to get the ships sailing again, and if that calls for people to be vaccinated for now, then so be it. It may not stay that way forever, but it is my opinion that this would be the best way forward for now. Sorry for all of the folks who may not be able to sail right now.

  9. This is why we choose to re-book way out to Oct 2022 for Mardi Gras sailing, too stressful and had to get off the merry-go-round of cancellations, and it paid off too ended up with $1,195 of OBC for all the delays, cancellations and 25% off. But I did recently book a casino offer for a free room that was too good to pass up and it sails in Feb 2022, so praying all this is sorting out by then. I  like everyone else just wan to see the ships moving again, any ship at this point!!!

There is no such thing as a free cruise.  Many gamblers don't want to admit it but they often lose significantly more in the casino than the value of the discount they received on the room.  But every once in a while we go home with cash in out pocket which brings us back to looking at offers and deciding which ones we can possibly use.

    So true😁
