  1. Pack your own, like others have said, they don't weigh much, and you can fill the bucket with clothes, my DD's socks and undies worked well because they were small and no worry about wrinkles. We usually passed ours along too when we were done on the beach. The quickest way to make friends was having something to play with, and sand toys always brought new people to play with.

  2. DH and I were 26 and 28 for our first cruise, had a blast, won another cruise on that in a bingo game on the last day, and the rest was history, weve been cruising ever since. Our oldest was 2.5 when we brought her the first time (Carnival because they take 2yo) We've cruised often since then, only taking a break when the kids were too young to go, this was before Royal babies and tots. Now our oldest is 26, and crew on Anthem, so I guess it rubbed off lol. And our younger 2 are D+ in their own right...I can imagine our youngest reaching Pinnacle someday as she's only 13.

  3. is this the water slide that RCCL offers as an "excursion" or another water slide? We will be there mid-September and are doing the Aquapark but my kiddo wold love the water slide if it isnt the one that is featured as an excursion (he doesnt meet the height requirement for that one yet)[/quot

It's an excursion I think, there's a fee for it. It doesn't have a deep drop into the Water, more of a splash zone, but it does go pretty fast on the way down. I think my youngest was 6 when she first got to ride.

  4. I use to use Tapatalk to access CC. Now I use the CC app I don’t remember paying for it. If I did It couldn’t have been much other wise I would still be using Tapatalk.

It was Tapatalk I believe, and a really long time ago it cost to purchase, or it was confusing so I just kept to my iPad or desktop. I get used to one format, and tend to stick to it lol.

  5. The bungalows a fairly far down the beach. Have a covered area with a couch and a couple of loungers. And I think a float.

The cabanas are neat the jet ski area now. They have covered area with an L couch, a deck with 2 loungers and a side table, 2 more loungers on the sand, and floats. Also the whole cabana area is only open to cabana guests, and there is a roped off area in front of them for swimming. There is a bar right in the cabana area, and they provide service to the cabanas. There is also a special buffet, just for cabana and suite guests in that area.

Well boo. The area by the wave hut was always our favorite area to hang for the day. Nice shade if you needed it, but still close to restrooms with a nice sandy beach, and usually quiet because most people stopped at the first beach by the buffet area. You just had to watch for falling giant lizards...one time we were there a huge one fell out of the tree and right into the lounger of another guest! It's been a year since we last visited Coco Cay...does someone have a current map to share? I guess we need to find another place, I'm too cheap to spend the $$ on a bungalow or cabana. :D

  6. You can sign up before your first cruise - just the points don't show up until after the cruise. Many were erroneously demoted to this "pre-Gold" status during web site updates recently.

They totally messed up a bunch of stuff with the update. When we returned from our cruise in February I was sent both and email and snail mail welcoming me to C&A and congratulating me on my first Royal cruise. I had to call and fix that as I am D+ already. It was decided the error was a glitch with the website, or some database somewhere because I had used my number when booking and it did say D+ on my seapass. Technology at it's finest lol.

  7. I've been on almost 50 cruises and I have to completely unpack and put everything away as soon as I can. I obsess over this but when done it's VACATION no matter how long or short the cruise. ( I still overpack because you never know)

This is me too! I can't relax until I do. As soon as the checked luggage arrives, I can't explore until the room is organized.

  8. I always bring a small 5 inch desk fan...must have air flow with hot flashes! Otherwise, I wouldn't need a fan...the cabins get cool enough. Hot flashes happen whether it's 30 degrees or 100! Air blowing on your is the only cure!

My last cruise was at the beginning of me hot flashing, and I swore I would bring a fan with me next cruise, glad to see I'm not the only one with this idea! Is yours battery operated or plug in? I can't decide which one I want.

  9. My kids loved the water slide on the beach at Columbus Cove, even my grown adult kids lol. It's a snort walk up a shady hill, then a crazy twisty slide into a splash zone, so no worries about deep water. That beach area has a nice soft sandy bottom, with plenty of shade if you want it. Restrooms and lunch are close by too.

  10. I've not traveled to Disney as a guest, but my DD was crew on Oasis last year, and I would pick her up at 7am and drive to the parks. It took at least an hour, on a Sunday am to get to the parking lot, weekdays may take longer. Driving back to the ship we always allowed 2.5 hours, because it always seemed to take an hour from inside the park to the highway. We usually got to spent 4-5 hours, she had to be back onboard by 3pm as this was Oasis home port turn around day. For us as passholders it was worth it, being local (well, except when she's onboard lol) we go whenever we want. Doing it as a one day excursion is an expensive, short day for a bit of magic.

  11. The 12 and 14yo would be in the teen program. My kids enjoyed it, but they are very social. It has a schedule of activities, but depending on attendance and both guest and youth staff desires, it's all very flexible. At this age they are free to come and go as they please, but have a shipwide curfew at 1am. Make sure they go the first night, icebreaker games are a good way to make new friends, and some kids find it harder to go once the initial cliques form up.

  12. And just to confuse everyone even more, I have another D+ BOGO question...

DH and I are already planning on using my BOGO for a date night in Chops, and sending the kids to Johnny Rockets. One of the kids is actually 20, so she gets the same perks as an adult. Can she use her specialty BOGO there, or is it not considered a real specialty restaurant?
