  1. We were just on Wonder and yes, there are plugs available on the end tables on either side of the bed. We attended the parade one day and I know it was offered more than once during the week. Great viewing from the second floor where the photography place is! The promenade gets quite crowded, so go early for a good seat there. The disco party one night was really fun. The cruise director knows his moves :) There was definitely a party on the first night in the Promenade but we were too tired to attend.
  2. Have been on both ships and for the price difference, I would definitely go with the Harmony!
  3. Just off the Wonder, had an overall fantastic experience-although I was skeptical beforehand after reading some of the reviews- and I can't find the spa director's card that I thought I had in my suitcase with some others. She was from Jamaica and I just wanted to reach out to her to tell her that she was doing a fantastic job. She ran the free seminars, raffle drawings, etc. An email would be great. Can't seem to find any info online!
  4. Based on the ages of your kids, my recommendation would be connecting rooms. However, as our 3 got into later teens, it was way better to book them nearby or across the hall, as they liked to stay out WAY later than us and this way we wouldn't be disturbed with them coming and going late, especially on the evenings that we weren't doing something together (the dividing doors are not usually not very soundproof!). Our youngest wound up moving over into my room later in the week since she likes her sleep! The Oasis class ships can be overwhelming for first time cruisers and I believe that a smaller scale ship might be less intimidating for a first time cruiser as you "learn the ropes". Cruising is great for families on RC regardless of the ship.
  5. Our sailing is not until the 28th....so I'm hoping by then!
  6. They are supposed to be rolling out a new option to reserve specialty restaurant packages purchased in advance on the Wonder in January....let's hope it happens!
  7. So....an update on my post! I called Covermore today (Costco's partner) and they confirmed that their policy through Costco does not take age into account. So that is why it is a very good bargain for "mature" folks when compared to private travel insurance quotes (which do consider age). PLUS it is much better coverage than that typically offered by the cruise lines themselves (we always opted to get our own policy for additional coverage vs. the cruise policy). For older folks this could save hundreds of dollars which would easily cover the cost of a Costco membership. You do need to book your trip through Costco Travel in order to get their travel insurance. It seems to be too good to be true, but after doing some research it is comparable to the same travel insurance you would be paying hundreds of dollars for.
  8. Thank you so much for the review but unfortunately they have changed insurance carriers- it is now Covermore and not TravelGuard. I am going to call them today...cost difference is significant.
  9. Perhaps there could be a glitch, but the premium is the same age for us (50s) and my parents are normally much higher!
  10. Yes, have used multiple times. Highly recommend TravelGuard, they were easy to work with and no problem with claims being paid. Cancelled trip once due to a death in the family and twice for illnesses in the family. On a cruise, our daughter got the flu on Day 5 and they reimbursed us for the last 3 days of our trip cost.
  11. I just booked a cruise on Royal Caribbean through Costco. I am pricing out their cruise insurance (offered by Covermore) and the quotes are all the same (for the same trip cost) regardless of the age of the travelers. The coverage looks similar to what we have been quoted through TravelGuard, etc. but their quotes normally vary by age and are much higher the older you are. My parents will be 80 and 81 on our trip, so we want to make sure that they have good coverage. Comparing coverage details it looks very similar, only much cheaper for them (I'm talking $151 vs.$400 to $600 range). Am I missing something? This seems to be too good to be true but I can't figure out what the catch is! Has anyone else encountered this before or booked cruise insurance through Costco? I just find it very interesting that they don't ask the age of the passengers.
  12. Hi! We purchased a 3 night dining package for our upcoming Allure cruise. Usually they allow you to make a reservation ahead of time for the first or second night (and we usually reserve Chops) and make the other 2 reservations once on board. In looking at our daily planner, I do see a 6pm reservation on Day 1, but it does not say what restaurant (and I wasn't asked for a preference when I booked). I tried calling RC to clarify but the phone wait times are out of control. Can anyone shed some light on how this works? Last sailing was in January on Harmony and it showed a Chops reservation. Thanks!
  13. We went to several specialty restaurants where iced coffee/espresso was included, so I wound up only using half of my card and would have been better off buying them individually.
