Thank you for this information. My party were not checked on the way through the terminal at Southampton.

It sounds a little hit and miss - the cabin which is available is D715? There is also a balcony cabin on C deck at the same price.
-
Many thanks for this information - as you say the prices are very good at the moment.

Hello: I am thinking of booking Ventura in an aft deluxe balcony - I've seen reports that the ship is in need of refurbishment - does this mean my cabin would have worn carpets, linen and a tired bathroom or water and rust stains round the door, or have the cabins been refurbished lately?
-
Many thanks, the room looks very nice. We were a little disappointed with a mini suite on Oriana because there was visible rust and water stains on the carpet near the sliding doors, very threadbare dressing gowns and a kettle pitted with age. Im expecting the Aurora to be better due to the recent upgrading.

Hello
I wonder if anyone has any pictures of an Aurora mini suite since the refurbishment?

Thanks for all your advice. We kept both options open until the day before, and then decided to drive them down and drove on to Bournemouth as it was a sunny day.
The traffic around West Quay was slow but kept moving.

Please could I check whether it is possible to take wine onto the Emerald at Southampton as you can with P and O?
Thankyou

Hi, we have friends with us who are travelling to Southampton on 2 Jul. They could take the train, or we could drop them of at the terminal. There are 4 ships in port that day including Independence. What would you recommend, is the traffic likely to be bad near the port due to roadworks?
Many thanks.

Thank you for all your comments and responses. To clarify, I book direct with Cunard and spoke with my 'personal cruise specialist' at Cunard yesterday That said, I wasn't convinced with the description i was given of the system, hence me checking with this Board. I'm sorry if I have inadvertently caused concern to others.
The issue we have is that we want a table for 2, and this does not appear to be possible with a saver fare, whereas if we had booked a couple of weeks earlier on an early saver we would have been able to express a preference for a table for 2.
Thank you again.

Hello
We booked a club balcony on QE in Dec 14 and had a table for 2 allocated to us throughout the cruise which was just what we wanted. I've been advised that the system has changed for both Cunard and Saver fares. The new system is that you go to the Club restaurant and request a table of the desired size and you will then either be shown to a free table or given a pager and called when a table becomes available. i wonder if a recent cruiser could advise if this is what they experienced and how it went? Is the system the same for QM2 and QE?

Hi, I am about to book a P2 cabin on QE and would like to check if there are any cabins on decks 4,5 or 6 which previous passengers could recommend, or ones that they felt were best avoided? Also I am not a good sailor, so I wondered if deck 4 would be preferable to avoid motion sickness?
Many thanks

Thankyou for all the responses: in the end just ad I decided to go with the aft cabins they were sold! Shows I should make my mind up more quickly in the future.

Hello,
I wonder if anyone who has stayed in cabins 4092 or 4089 could let me know how they found their balcony. From the deck plan they appear rounded and 'facing' onto the lifeboats? Did this cause the views to be unsightly or there to be additional wind when the ship was in motion? Was there greater noise than would normally be encountered? Any privacy issues? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated?
Kind Regards

Hello
I am looking at booking a 'select' balcony cabin for myself on Britannia, and a 'saver' obstructed balcony for my 15 year old son and husband. This being the cheapest option. I'm a bit worried that we could end up on different dining arrangements - wondered if there was a way around this?

Hi I wonder if someone who has stayed in one of the aft facing cabins on G Deck G728, G729, G730, G731 could advise whether you were bothered by the noise of the Live Lounge or by the 'soot problem' that has been reported in other threads? Would you stay in one of these cabins again?

Hello, I would very much appreciate the guidance of Silverea regulars. I am looking to book my first cruise with Silversea a back to back Monte Carlo to Rome commencing 15 August. The only cabin available is 733, could anyone advise me on any benefits or drawbacks of this cabin. Kind Regards
Midnight Sun Cruise 2017

My daughter would like to go on this cruise on midnight sun cruise Crown in June 2017. She is struggling to afford a balcony cabin and we wondered what the likelihood of an offer coming up on it was? I wondered if a regular who has observed price movements over past years would have a view?
