Silhouette Jul24 out of Southampton. Was bidding on Aqua suite & Aqua room. Virtually sold out. Looking @ dummy booking 5 x Aqua suites sold today & 3 x Aqua became available plus some verandahs. Looks like Moveup process started. Oh well never mind still looking forward to our Concierge Room

Have you tried ringing your agent again to do a paid upgrade? It is worth a shot!

  2. They have nice piano music in the Ensemble lounge, just outside Murano, usually every evening, or something similarly relaxing.

Other entertainment is like most cruise lines, a mix of comedian, magic, production shows etc, in the main theatre.

  3. Tour discounts and prices vary from time to time, sometimes, if there is a sale they drop quite a bit, and if you notice it is cheaper than what you already have booked, you can cancel and rebook (we did this with both excursions and dining package a couple of weeks ago for our cruise) Just keep an eye on it maybe, or as you say explore private tours - check your roll call for offers of these, or use Viator.

  4. Hi, I am also from your part of Suffolk! Small world. I think you will love Silhouette, a beautiful ship, lots ot enjoy.
Being on the hump is usually quite nice! We love the angled balconies and views.

Things to enjoy - Cafe al Bacio, lovely coffees, pyramid tea bags, and free pastries, cookies etc daily…

Sunset Bar, in the evening, for a lovely view of the wake, and a drink.

Murano for a special meal, it really is worth the upcharge.

Lawn club, for a more homely casual meal, again, we love this as a change from the main dining room, the warm cookie dough dessert or carrot cake are soooo good! 😊

And if you like cocktails, try the Martini bar, Lemondrop martini, frescatini, whatever flavour you can think of, they have it! Try them all….

Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

When we upgraded to Premium Beverage package while logged into cruise planner it didn't reflect the Elite Plus 15% discount. I had to call our cruise planner to rebook with the discount. Trying to book spa and I don't see how to apply the discount here either.  Is this always the case?

You can only get Captains club discount by calling. Before you sail.
You wont get sale price and discount (unless you get very lucky on the phone)

Ok thanks cruisecrew123 so you dont get the discount on the ship , however looking at the  normal prices ( not the sale price) to upgrade the difference is £18:88  so no real need to do it before i get on the ship anyway then?

I may be wrong but I think it does cost slightly more to upgrade on board. However, if you do it at the bar you intend to spend most time at, those staff will be over the moon and always really happy to serve you 🙂

Crew to passenger ratio even outside the Retreat

    Towels in the bathroom

Not needing to check out pool towels

Turndown service (I don't need a full cleaning and do Go Green, but it's nice to have dirty glasses/dishes removed and my room checked on a second time)

Sky Lounge on M and S class ships

A Eurekatini from the Martini Bar on embarkation day

The aft seating area outside the buffet

    The spa cafe

    Just being at sea

Hi! I love your list, what is a Eureakatini please? I dont want to miss out! 😁

Thank you!   We’ve stayed in cabin 1605 and the balcony was huge.  Do you know if 1616 and 2153 are the same size.  I read on another post that the 1st & 3rd cabin on the hump are the same size.

Yes they will be very similar in size, I would go for 1616 personally, I think its a nice deck and you are not losing anything in terms of balcony.

  9. I engaged in all the Power Up Points activities, and have not had any points show on my Captains Club record, I have emailed but guess I will need to call, no idea how many I am owed though to be honest, as they were quizzes and webinars etc, just did them and assumed the points would be added.

Lovely video, thank you for sharing. I'm taking my daughter and her boyfriend in August and he's not been to any of the ports (or on a cruise for that matter) so looking forward to seeing it through fresh eyes.

Hoping you have an amazing time! We were the same, our sons girlfriend who we took, had never cruised or been to any of the countries we went to. She admitted mostly loved being on the ship! Think this video shows that! 🤣 have fun!

Assuming we're sticking with the M class version, which is important here ...

These cabins have always been in high demand due to word of mouth.  We have sailed in them (as a couple only) many times.  Our ultimate nightmare was to book a FV "Guarantee" and be upgraded to an S3 Sky Suite.  The FVs, especially on the corners (there are 6 corner and 6 non-corner per M class ship) are better laid out and with more space both inside and especially out than an M class Sky Suite.  Lots more closet space.  Truly separate sitting area.  Love the view of the wake, and on the corners, the 270 degree view at the railing.

We were always surprised that they would tend to sell for about the price of an aft C1.

That said, when originally conceived, the prices I saw, briefly, were more than that for a CS.  Not sure that made any sense.  Those prices disappeared quickly back in 2020.  Initially, I had thought that our Constellation FV TA from Barcelona would be converted to a 'Sunset Suite' as they called it back then, before our cruise, and that possession being 9/10ths and all that, we had scored a great deal on a new cabin class.  Of course, then everything blew up in March 2020.

All of which is to say, most of us consider the FVs, especially the corners, to be preferable to an S1/2/3, so paying an S1/2/3 price would certainly not be out of the question.

Oh of course M class FV, different altogether, I meant the S class far forward rooms - I totally get why they would rebrand the FV to a suite on M class, that works! I just don’t see how they can sell the concept of suite in the S class FV as it just doesnt have any desirable features of a suite other than size.

  12. Having stayed in these a few times as FV, (Family Verandah) I really can’t get my head around the whole ‘Suite’ rebranding, and pricing! As a family room great, spacious, separate bedroom for parents, tiny bunk room for kids, one tiny bathroom, teeny balcony, far forward. Early wake up call due to loud anchor drop each day…. There is no way they can make this viable as a luxury suite.
