  1. Can someone walk me through the logistics of preordering breakfast for the next day from the MDR for a suite? Will our hang tags be different, will it be on the TV menu, can we do it from the concierge lounge or should we just call the night before?

We're in the royal family suite on Explorer through Alaska early June and I kinda want to take all my meals on the balcony.

I am sure someone will chime in if this has changed (my last suite experience was about 3 years ago), but when we were in a suite you couldn't order breakfast the night before from the MDR. Had to be same day/morning.

  2. No it did not but honestly not needed. Show up at the suite door. Immediately there someone checks your cabin number on their list which says Star. That's where they call your genie and direct the to you or if not in star send you to sky/sea lane (directly to left of sky lane)

When you say "suite door", is it obvious that there is a door specifically for suites that we should be looking for? is it obvious?

  3. I believe they were in a GS though which is not star class.

Under the new suite program, the highest tier (Star) includes beverage and specialty dining package. I think the maroon color represents Star class-not sure but that's how it looks online. I think the beverage pacakages don't apply to bottles so maybe that is why there was the charge in coastal kitchen. But it seems like the server should have mentioned that you could have free by the glass. I guess it is all new and they have some kinks to work out.

Last cruise I was on gave complimentary hour hour drinks to diamonds in any venue. Not sure if that was just that cruise because there were too many diamonds on board to fit in the lounge. But I liked it better that way. I hope that is standard now.

  4. Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but figured it was close!

I will be pretty early on in my pregnancy when we cruise 8-9 weeks. Obviously no drinking, sushi, caffeine, and deli meat. Is there anything else to be aware of that pregnant ladies should stay away from on cruises?

  5. We are scheduled to cruise on May 28 at which point I will be 8 weeks pregnant. I called Royal Caribbean to ask about massages that are safe for pregnant women and she said she couldn't find anything about massages that are safe for pregnant women, but that I should go to the spa when I board the ship and ask.

My massage is scheduled on the 4th day of the cruise, I am wondering if I should just cancel it.

Does anyone have experience with being pregnant and getting a massage on the ship?

  6. In some ways I would rather they ban of smoking from the casino and allow it on the Balcony. There is no where for the smoke to go when you can't open a window and I can barely walk through the casino sometimes because the air is so full of smoke, even when it's not packed with smokers. It just lingers in the air.

I have only had one problem on a cruise with smokers in a balcony cabin next to us. They were both chain smokers though and out there constantly. Eventually I just tried to avoid going out there when they were out there. They also played loud music. I tried calling once to complain, but it didn't help much. They just went back to it a couple of hours later.

This past full when we were in Disney World there was someone smoking on a balcony above the Savannah at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. That seriously upset me because there are animals all around us. When I called to complain they acted like it wasn't a big deal. That upset me a lot more there are zebras and giraffes that would get really close to the balconies. I can only hope they didn't throw their cigarette butts out on the savannah.

  7. We've used self disembark for every cruise. We never make early flights and we try to stay on the ship as long as possible. Yes, it means we have to take our luggage down the stairs since the elevators are usually packed, but since we don't have kids we don't mind. For anyone with large luggage I would recommend the luggage valet. We had our luggage packed and gone by the evening before disembarkation and we didn't see it again until we got home. Since we fly Southwest, it didn't cost us anything to check two pieces of luggage under one name.

  8. Less than 5 bucks. Maybe it's free with your 15 grand cabin. ;)

They could chip me for all I care. Doesn't seem to bother my dog.

Haha... omg I just want to snuggle your dog. I have a Australian shepard but he isn't a lap dog...

I did the band thing in Disney World. It had it's positives and negatives. Sometimes I had to take the band off to pay for things. For me the biggest convenience was being able to go straight to the parks and not have to check in or activate the band. Obviously this isn't something you can do on a cruise ship.

  9. Was thinking of heading to Horseshoe Bay on our second day at Bermuda since I am sure it gets crowded by the afternoon. Is there anywhere we can grab lunch that's near the beach or will we have to leave the area?

  10. Hi! We plan on spending the morning in St. George and then taking the bus to the Crystal Caves. I see we can take buses #1, #3, #10 and #11. Is it easy to find the appropriate bus stops around St. George?

  11. We always do self debarkation. The only issue is the elevators. It's impossible finding an elevator that isn't full and can fit you and your luggage. We usually end up having to carry them down the stairs. We also never leave in the early morning, we leave as late as possible. I've noticed if we try to delay our departure the ship gets a little less busy and we have a better chance at grabbing an empty elevator.
