Is port or starboard a better choice for cruising this itinerary?

Starting last week, SS changed their policy whereby you can book excursions immediately once your booking is reserved regardless of cruise date.
Thank you SO MUCH for this important information. We are cruising Alaska May 2023 on Silver Whisper and I was able to book MOST of our excursions. However, for Hubbard Glacier it is showing only 1 NOT INCLUDED excursion at a cost of $218 p/p and NO included excursions. This tour was shown as INCLUDED on our original information. There is now NO excursions for Seward but originally Seward SeaLife Center & Kenai Fjords National Park was shown as an 8 hour INCLUDED excursion. Any ideas?

We had a lovely 45 minute walk to Overstreet Park to see the humpback whale statue. Some nice photo ops on the walk.

I’ve done this several times with Princess transfer from Victoria Coach Station.
hotels: Rubens at The Palace, Langham, Sheraton by Heathrow.
Very well organized. As they take your luggage & you see it again at your cabin door.
To take advantage of this service, do you need to book your hotel through Princess or can it be an independent booking?

Maybe because you don't have to pay until final payment. This way you can change flights or rebook if prices go down.
When we were booking Alaska our TA told us if we booked the air through Princess we would have to pay the airfare up front. Is that NOT the case?

We had no trouble renewing our NEXUS cards online and no interview was required. I don’t understand why you would need to go through the process again.

Possibly just for the inconvenience. That would be a pretty pricey port tax!

We had an annoying banging from our balcony (D630) that no one else could hear during the few minutes they could spend listening. We investigated ourselves and discovered the balcony divider wasn’t tightened properly after opening them for cleaning on turnaround day. Maintenance came quickly and inserted a wooden wedge. Problem solved.

They’re using facial recognition now.
Guess that’s a good thing with so many people having cataract surgery!

One difference this time around is you don’t receive a retina scan just finger prints.
I have NEXUS and, after cataract surgery where the lens were changed, I called to ask if this would be an issue. I was told then they no longer use the Iris scan but no explanation.

Have never been keen on “older” ships but we had NO complaints on the condition of the Grand in June. We had new carpet.
-
We had a tube of lotion and lots of bar soap on Grand Princess May 25-June 8.

The mini suites don’t have any coverage so, in event of rain or brilliant sunshine, the balcony offers no protection.

Was it working? It was physically there during our cruise in April, but not functional.
There was a day or two there was an “out of order” sign but I printed off our folio 4 times during the cruise, including the last night.

Hi @Senga, She told me you should see it within 24 hours. Let me know if it does not show up.
@wallyj, thank you so much for your assistance. The credit went through. Hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did.

Hi @Senga, would you provide sailing date and cabin number and if you can what issues so I can relay to Kimberly, also if you can your names, but cabin number and sail date she can look up, I think. She is leery of me posting her contact info on a social media site.
Thanks so much @wallyj. May 25-June 8, B630. My Medallion malfunctioned and on board printer was out of commission until repair could be made on shore. Kimberley offered us a future cruise discount which was supposed to be attached to my loyalty number.

I assume that you are answering for the OP, @wallyj?
I provided the answer which was in the title. Is that a problem for you?

@wallyj IF you get the chance, could you please get me contact information for Guest Services Manager Kimberley Shannon? We had issues with my Medallion and she promised compensation attached to my loyalty number but Princess has no record of it. Thanks in advance!

I was on the Grand in December. I did have fresh orange juice in the dining room daily for breakfast.
I’ll have to remember that. Was never given the option of “fresh” o.j. in the dining room and didn’t know to ask.

We were on Grand Princess and requested a table for 2. They TRIED to seat us at a setup that had 3 tables for 2 so close together you’d think it was a table for 6; MAYBE a 2 inch separation. We refused and they found us a table that was socially distanced. Just politely decline anything you’re not comfortable with.

Tipping at the port? How much?
in Princess Cruises

We recently cruised Princess to Alaska from Vancouver. We decided we would tip double our normal since the people had been unemployed due to COVID. Bags were unloaded from the bus and we never had ANY contact with porters. Very surprised.
