I disagree about your character attack on people who don't want to wear a mask. What does the mask actually accomplish. I don't see how a cruise line can ask people to wear a mask. First, how do you eat and drink? Does everyone have to go back to their cabins? How do you have social distancing on a cruise ship.
I am not one of the ones protesting or refusing to wear a mask where required. But If wearing a mask is a requirement to cruise then I would cancel. Seems like too much of a hassle.

I am Platinum on Carnival and have been on 1 Celebrity Cruise. We both a Carnival Cruise booked for September, (Maybe), and a 12 Day Cruise in November on the Equinox. Some of the differences/similarities as I as experienced.
1. Crowd is much older. I am 52 and felt like the youngest on the ship.
2. We did not do any specialty restaurants. Main dining and Buffet compared to Carnival.
3. Not much of a night life if that is your thing.
4. Ship is more classy and better decor than Carnival
5. Most items are more pricey. As others said, it is a step up from Carnival.
6. Rooms are comparable in sizes. We like having a shower door on Celebrity. Carnival is just a curtain.
Overall, Carnival is more of an upbeat/party type atmosphere. Celebrity is more subdued/refined.

I have been on 1 Celebrity Cruise and my wife and I both received a free Veranda room that we used for a 12 day cruise in November. We didn't gamble any more or less than we have on the 14 Carnival Cruises and I don't even get the Ultra or Premiere. I love Carnival and have 1 booked in September, but I may never cruise Carnival again if we keep receiving free cruise offers from Celebrity.

We are booked on the September 19th sailing. Was on the April 25 that was cancelled. I am hoping we sail in September.

That is an automatic email. You will not owe a penalty. You will get a fcc with OBC or a full refund. Your choice.

click on cruise manager. Scroll down on the left there is a box that says Before you go, My to Do list. in this box click on print documents.
-
you can print your cruise documents. Check the "Print General Information" box. When previewing there will be a box that shows the on board credit. Don't have to be in the 90 day window or completed check in.

I had a cruise booked in April that I moved to September. I also received a free cruise from Celebrity that cost me $280 in port fees and taxes to book for November. I see no difference in being on a ship or going to Walmart or living my every day life. The only risk I see is the ship being quarantined at the end of the cruise. However, each person has to make their own decision on whats best for them. I don't understand people that come on here and say no is cruising and if they do they are wrong and selfish. As for me and my family, we are cruising.

I was supposed to be on the Panorama last week. We have moved it to September 19. If that gets cancelled, we will just move it out to April next year. Your live review was the best one I have ever read. Thank you for that. I was riveted to this forum on your debarkation date. Look forward to your future reviews.

I have a feeling that most of the Caribbean countries are going to be screaming for cruise ships to return sooner than August. Some of those places depend on the cruise industry for their local economy. The official CDC order expires on July 24, if I remember correctly.

We ended up booking the 12 Day Southern Caribbean Cruise on the 11-27. Between my September Cruise and this one I hope we sail on at least one. To answer the questions about the drinks, I ordered drinks when I was in the casino and not playing from one of the servers that knew I was gambling. Didn't try to order a drink at the casino bar. I would think those would not be free.

I meant children. More than 1.

We booked one adult in each room with kids in each room. When we boarded the ship, we asked for extra room keys. The boys all slept in one room. My DW and I had our own room.

I have ATT cell phone coverage. Mexico is included at no extra charge. I make phone calls, text, and check emails when i am in port over the cellular network. Just remember, if you use your phone for the time, once you take it off airplane mode it will change to the local time, which may not be ship time. Also, when you get back on board and put your phone back in airplane mode it will stay on the local time.

I don't get a flu shot, so I wouldn't take a Covid 19 vaccine shot either. So if they implemented a policy of requiring a vaccine to sail, then my cruise days would be over. However, I don't see how they can implement a policy like that. There are many different reasons why some people wouldn't get the vaccine. Also, how would prove it. A note from a doctor?

My thoughts are that if a cruise was to set sail tomorrow there will be enough people that would go. Just like if there was a NBA or MLB game tomorrow it would be a sellout. Many people think this is not a big deal and the numbers are not accurately counted because everyone hasn't received a test. Others, will say that social distancing and preventive measures we are taking are the reason why the numbers are down. There is no winner.
I think Cruises will set sail again this year. I just hope it is by September.

For the record, I don't really take offense. Was just trying to make a point.

That makes sense. Maybe I gambled more than I thought. We are looking at booking the 11-29 Edge Sailing. Would love to do the 12 Equinox, but already have a September cruise with Carnival scheduled. So don't have enough vacation days.

I have cruised on Carnival 14 times and 1 Celebrity Cruise. I take offense at some people saying there is a class difference in people that sail on Carnival versus Celebrity. My opinion is the reason that Celebrity seems more classy is because there are mostly older people on the cruise. My wife and I are 52 years old and we felt like the youngest people on the cruise. Older clientele equals more mature with better manners.
However, I will say our experience is the ship had a more elegant/classy look and feel than Carnival. We didn't do the specialty restaurants. I thought the MDR and Buffet was comparable to Carnival. If you like activities and night life, than stick with Carnival. With all that said, we are looking at booking another Celebrity Cruise in November on Edge. The infinite Veranda room looks great.

When I called about the offer, I was told my level was pearl. She did say the points reset on 12-31. Do the points reset every year? I have only been on 1 celebrity cruise last November. I would of thought that I was at least Onyx by my level of play.

Thanks, I have a good friend that we cruise with that helps me out a lot of times. So, this would be a small way to repay his kindness.
-
If both my wife and I received the offer, could we book 2 rooms on the same cruise and bring another couple?

The obese issue becomes complicated. I had weight loss surgery and loss over 100 pounds. I am great shape and the healthiest I have been in years. No more sleep apnea or borderline diabetic. However, the BMI formula still says I am obese. Should I not be allowed to cruise. What about fly. What about driving. Where does it end.

We loved the Havana area. We stayed in a Cabana and like others had said the only ones walking by our cabana was our neighbors. The pathway is blocked by a door that you need your cabana key to open. Also, we only receive 2 wrist bands in our room.
APRIL 6 REFUND THREAD: Have you received your refund?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We had 3 rooms that were cancelled on the April 25 Panorama. Moved the cruise to 9-19 with FCC. We were told we would be refunded the difference in cruise fare back to our credit cards. 1 person received their refund on 5-8-20 to their American Express card. I am still waiting on $90 credit for cruise fare and $200.00 for Cruise Cash. So I think the refunds are totally random.
