On my last Princess Cruise, Sabatini’s was more crowded than I have ever seen it. I asked the waiter and he said that most people were comped. From a Corporate point of view, I guess it makes sense to give something away that is in excess supply.

My first question is how comfortable are you in a tux - really. Wear what is comfortable. I’m on my second tux.

reedprincess,
If I am reading your posting correctly, there are no wine packages for 7 day cruises?
And there are no wine packages on multi week cruises that are sold as one week cruises. Like 3 week cruises in Europe. Found this out the hard way, budgeted wine packages but none availble😳

Hopefully Celebrity has changed the policy of collecting drinks from guests leaving the elite party.

On the Pacific it’s one dining room that changes it’s menu every other night. I don’t recall wall coverings at all. I was dining with my wife.

I have gifted specialty dinning to my children with no problem.

I am deeply sorry for the medical problems which lead to your dilemma. That said, every time I have made a deposit for a Princess Cruise, I have received a copy of the insurance fine print. Additionally I have had to electronically confirm that I was aware of the Princess Terms and Conditions before I could access my booking. I have read it. It will be tedious but it is all there. I would rather deal with Princess than TripMate any day of the week. I prefer Princess insurance because there is no age rider. It turns out to be cheaper for me.

Easy decision. Ruby still has Skyalkers. Grand doesn’t. Love breakfast in Skwalkers, if if I do have to carry it there.

i don’t have any hair left and I love Princess toiletries. My wife, who has hair always takes her own. Which are you?

In the past it has been a drive-by.

The premium covers Macallen. Nuff said.
Jim
Brings back memories. On a recent cruise two of us discovered that we were consuming most of the Macallen on the ship! Scotch is thicker than blood, so to speak.

Things are going to change. On our last cruise in April we were quized intensively at the airline ticket counter about leaving our bags our at night for collection. We asked the agent later when we saw him at the boarding gate. It’s the new normal. If you don’t have control your bags all the time you have a potential problem.

We’re on Baja Deck Aft Cabin this December for a Holiday Cruise, hope the soot holds off so we can enjoy without issues.

You will be OK. B and D decks have an overhang. On our recent 3 week cruise on the Royal we only had occasional soot on the banister.

Some people just leave their baggage early at the unattended baggage drop off. Seems risky...
-
That wasn't the case with my last cruise.
Never had a problem with fellow travelers tagging along. Even sat with us in the Priority Boarding Area.

Because of jet lag, we prefer to have the shorter and easier flight at the beginning -- so Amsterdam to Budapest would be our preferred direction. Coming home we can just crash, but arriving in Europe we want to be ready to go-go-go as soon as possible.
Agree completely! If you miss the start of a cruise, you have to figure out how to catch up. If your return is delayed, it’s the airlines problem to get you home.

If you like touring gardens in the dark, the Butchart Garden tour is for you.

Go to Humpy’s for lunch. Kind of bar-like but the halibut is out of the world - better than Glacier Brewhouse. Last time I was at GBH halibut was only available as a modified appetizer.

You need to be aware that there is little to do in Copper River but fly to Mccarthy and drive to Valdez. If it’s their first time to interior AK, I’d stick to the Denali Corridor.

Always order one for the appetizer and one for the main course.

We have had the same problem two times. Check the Patter to see when and where the matre’d is available. He fixed it for us no questions asked.

Although I agree with the IP that traditional dining is, well, traditional. I always use TD but it seems that many do not take it seriously. On our last cruise on the Crown I would guess that TD was at least a quarter empty every night. And that was at the early time that always fills up first. It is such a waste of space and it must create a nightmare for the distribution of gratuities.
-
I don't believe that is true.
It is. It is a shame that Princess had to resort to this but many people (including me) tended to think of OBC as reducing the cost of a cruise. I now think of OBC as funny money. To spend frivolously.

Curious. We were on the Crown for 2 weeks and experienced any wait and after the first day never had to give our names.
Aft Cabins vs Forward Cabins
in Princess Cruises

Usually sail on the fantail and have only noticed any engine noise on departure from port in the MDR. Never the room. Wake sounds are soothing. On the other hand, wind on forward cabin balconies can be so bad that on some ships the balcony doors are locked when the ship is underway. Once at Hubbard Glacier, the ice was so bad that the ship turned around. That was a loud and disconcerting experience on the balcony.
