If you are going to buy a drink package and wi-fi (and I assume you would pay the recommended gratuities), then the AI rate almost certainly is a much better deal.

I just did a mock booking for a veranda on our upcoming cruise, and the AI rate was $80pp/night.  The classic drink package by itself for the same cruise is $81pp/nt (on "sale" from $89pp/nt).

OK. Gotta know. What cruise is this?  Veranda with AI for $80 a night?  I’ll book it!

  2. Easy peasy.... Rent ahead of time or at the port.....  drive on 'normal' side of the road.  Just rent a big car or a van....  I think we used Royal and they were fine......

Not sure if you can return to the airport....

Question, which cruise line finishes their cruise in Aruba?

    Have fun

  3. You will find many vendors as you walk out the port.  So if you don't rent ahead of time, no worries.  We've rented there a couple of times.  We were able to keep the car until 7 pm.  It was dark then anyway so didn't need it

The ships are too small for me I would be bored after the first day. Plus they are not cheap.

What $10.00 and people are still crying about this. 10X$10.00 = $100.00 if you are short 100 bucks use your free OBC.

I have noticed the cruises I like cut back the number of nights along with increased prices.

For example, 2023 Apex Trans Atlantic is 15 nights 2024 is 13 nights plus the price is higher.

My Celebrity Suite 2023 TA is $14,000.00 but 2024 is priced at $24,000.00 for two fewer nights. So I overpaid for a Sky Suite but could take an Ocean View for a lot less. They have lots of unsold suites for 2024 so at least I could book one that I liked.

Feel better about yourself?  Point is, I bought one thing and they changed it after final payment..... that's all.  Can I afford it, sure, should I have to? no.  But I'm so happy you let us all know how much you were spending..... So impressed.

Yet Another Grand Exit. Had to look it up. You’re right, mean.

Regarding price vs diminished product, I would just like to add that I have read several reviews of late on sites besides CC that were very positive… even with the changes. I’m sailing in 2 weeks so will be better able to discern for myself.

We'll be on in another month.  I convinced my wife to pay more because we get free room service and a hot breakfast.... then they took that away so we'll see.  We use(d) room service a lot.

Ok I will ask. What is YAGE?

No one really cares.... we just ignore rude people....

As for price, I agree.  We are back with Celebrity for an ABC cruise but it's been about 5 years since we sailed Celebrity, due to prices.  I found a pretty good Black Friday deal with decent OBC so we will give it a shot. Although once I booked and did my final payment I learned that they downgraded the MDR menu and it's now  pay for room service.  I'd say this will probably be our last Celbrity crusie but I guess we aren't allowed.....  People get mad.

We've been on 5 cruises since Covid but Celebrity was always more than I wanted to pay compared to what I could get on other lines.

    Enjoy....

We stopped using cruise ship pools years ago after finding a well soiled baby swim diaper floating on the bottom of the pool. That was on our one and done Royal cruise. Also fighting off the chair hogs is another losing effort. My skin doctor is making too much from me every time I spend too much time in the sun as well.😁

I'm with ya.... We live in Florida and have no desire to sit around a pool with 1,000 other people.  That;s why we get the big balcony... lol

Keep on, great report!  We will be on early April for the ABC's

  8. I’ve been to Hawaii many times over the last 30 years.  Most recently spent 7 weeks there in 2021.

I’d never take a cruise around the islands.  You don’t get to see much.  Couple of hours and your back on the ship. There is so much to see and do….

Pick 2 islands and go over for 10 days or 2 week, 5 days on each island.  So much better.

Same thoughts on the Greek Island cruises.  We are picking 2 islands and going to spend a few days on each to get to ‘know’ the islands.

To me, cruises are good for the Carribean and maybe Alaska but otherwise you really don’t get to enjoy a location.

so my vote is to go and enjoy the islands…   Have fun with whatever you decide to do!

  9. Agree with your frustration.  Had the same with the room service.  Sold the wife on paying more for Celebrity, mainly on a hot room service breakfast.  We get it everyday.  Same with 2nd lobster, prime rib.....  although those are not that much of an issue with us. Then they took it away after my final payment.

Not grandfathered, no option to cancel......  Not cool.  it would be so easy to grandfather anyone in..... simple IT fix.  I'll do it for them if they can't figure it out.... lol

  10. Coming back after a 5 year hiatus.  Talked my wife into paying the premium fee for Celebrity because of what I remember.

One of the main selling points was she could have a nice hot room service breakfast every day.  After 6 cruises with just continental breakfast she was sold.  Then come January and they killed that, prime rib and extra lobster (even Carnival allows 2 and then it’s $5 for the 3rd) and all other free room service.   We use it a lot.

sure, not the end of the world but when I bought my cruise that is what I what I bought.  They didn’t refund me anything for taking away benefits. No OBC to offset the cost of my room service….  And yea, they can change anything they want at any time.  Just don’t charge me a premium for a lesser product.  If you do, a refund or free cancel Would have been in order.  They changed this right after I made final payment.

Of course we will have a great time but I could have saved a lot and gotten the same benefits.

    Which specific S-Class.

We were on Solstice (non-revolutionized) in December and the TV was on the pull out and Swivel articulated mount.

Didn't need to swivel for viewing from bed but did swivel it so I could see it from the Sofa

    Sorry, Equinox.

  12. Quick question.  On the S class the TV is located in front of the vanity, not the bed.   They used to swing out so you could see from the bed but I haven't beenon an S class in 5 years now.  I recently read on here that they don't swing out anymore?  True?  And if so, can you even see it from the bed?

    Thanks

We have been in the FVs on Solstice, Eclipse, and Reflection.  There is no TV in the MBR.  The only TV in that massive cabin is in the main living room area next to the desk.

Thanks. Exactly what I needed.  We will take a pass I think. It was only a $200 more for the cruise but we like to lay in bed and chill.

  14. Hi all,

Looking to book a Family Verandah on the Equinox.  Silly question, does the master bedroom have a TV?  We like to watch a movie/TV late at night so for us it's kind of preferred to have a TV in the bedroom.   The reason I ask is any of the photos or videos I've seen don't really show the wall in the master so I can't tell.

    Thanks!
