  1. The Carnival Spirit left right behind us! There was a lot of Spirit in the canal at this time! It was pretty nice until it was not...
  2. Alaska's Governor's Mansion is the white house with the three dormers in between the two blue houses. Sailing out of Juneau This barge arrived while we were in Juneau, because it was not there when we arrived. Admiring the waterfalls as we sail out of Juneau Goodbye Juneau!
  3. After lunch, I headed out to the Great Outdoors to watch our sailaway from Juneau. A float plane on final approach touchdown! Another one coming in. I really liked this shot for some reason. touchdown!

  7. Making our way back to downtown Juneau Bridge to Douglas Island My mouth was open when i saw the size of the Ovation of the Seas. I don't think I would want to sail on a ship that large. I wouldn't have minded eating here, but it was raining and the line was super long. We made our way to some of our favorite shops. Caribou Crossings is always a must stop. Then it was on to the Alaskan Fudge Company! Yummy! Making Peanut brittle in the window! We shipped our fudge home, and picked up some chocolates for a snack! Max's M wanted to remember his whale watching excursion! You can just make out Mendenhall Glacier beyond the trees. Here is the video from the Whale Watching trip. I was able to get more whale shots on film than still pictures.

  10. So my weekend has been a bit crappy. I got home Thursday late and just crashed. Friday, Veterans Day, was a "day off" from work, but we are behind in ballot processing at work and our elections team went in for 6 hours. I got home and went to come work on this review and the computer crashed. I had to reset it, reinstall windows, and I have been working to reinstall programs that went away when it crashed. Finally, I feel like I can work on this again!
  11. Susan joined me out on deck. Since we had an early tender to shore, we just got breakfast from the buffet. Carnival Spirit at the South Franklin Dock Here is our Juneau port picture. They had put a strange filter on it, but it looked weird due the hand rail. So the photo guys were nice enough to take off the filter and just have the town as the background. I think it turned out a lot better. Max's M needed proof he was in Juneau. This is the area that NCL is working with Huna Totem Corporation to try to build another cruise ship dock in Juneau. I haven't heard any updates lately on its status. In line to catch the tender ashore. So we were scheduled for a whale watching excursion with Harv & Marv. We were told to meet them by the Carnival Spirit. We walk down there and the bus has already left. They luckily got ahold of the driver who came back to pick us up.
  12. Sunday, July 10th, 2022 - Cruise Day 5 - Juneau, Alaska Daily Like normal, I started my day from my spot on deck 12! Having sailed many times into Juneau, I could tell when we were getting close! It was a little wet today. Southern end of Douglas Island Unfortunately, no whale sightings as we sailed up the Gastineau Channel
  13. After Dinner, we headed to the Social Comedy Club. We made sure to get there early so we could get good seats! Mudslides! Al was back for his adult show! It was a great show! We were tired and decided to call it a night, because we had a early day in Juneau tomorrow. --

  17. After lunch, we went and played at the casino. I made my deposit! We then had a hankering for some pretzel bites and chips with spinach artichoke dip. To The Local we went After our snack, we went back to the room and took a nap. We got ready for dinner and hit the photo backgrounds Prop Night! Dinner was at Teppanyaki with Trace and Maria. Hey I am number one again! We told Trace he needed to smile nicely! This is what we got! Then there is us! Here is the photo the photo guy took! A surprise! Nope, just Miso Soup Susan showing off the soup. Seaweed Salad - I found the cucumbers to be satisfactory, but I think seaweed should stay in the sea. A strawberry daquiri to wash down the seaweed taste. Wasabi Cocktail for Susan Let the show begin!
  18. As we sailed away from Hubbard Glacier, we decided to head to lunch to get warm and fill our rumbling stomachs. Today's lunch menu was the same as embarkation day. The view from the window in Windows. Sweet Corn Hush Puppies Crustless Vegetable Quiche Chicken Noodle Soup Wedge Salad minus the Blue Cheese but adding in Cheddar Cheese and Ranch Dressing A dressed Wedge! Turkey Cottage Pie Philly Cheesesteak Basque Cake Orange Chocolate Mousse
  19. So I had started working on the continuation of the Hubbard Glacier day, but the power went out and I lost everything I had entered. Then Election day happened and I have been working 10 hour days at work. So I will try to do as much as I can tonight since I feel bad that I haven't had a chance to post since Sunday.
  20. We ended up getting 12 to 14 inches total. So much for getting Christmas lights put up on the house this year. I have huge piles where it sluffed off the roof.

  22. So I had plans to work on this a bunch today, but we have gotten 9" of snow today. I have had to shovel multiple times. This is a picture from earlier.
  23. I had to flip to the port side. Port side panorama I was really disappointed how far away the ship was. Part of the fun of glacier viewing is the calving. You can't see any of that from this distance. Max's M needed a glacier shot.
