Got this error once yesterday. Try marking or unmarking the "Stay signed in" field (ie. do the opposite of what you normally do with the field), that worked for me. Also as already advised, using incognito/private browsing often works better than "normal" browsing.

Haha, that actually worked - I ticked the "stay logged in" box and couldn't get in so then I unticked it and got in.

  2. It is also interesting that on my cruise page there is no mention that I have the drink package.  You'd think that when I look at the drinks page it would say "already included" or something like that.  It will actually allow me to buy it again.  The only way I know I've got the package is in some tiny wording on my original invoice that says "BEVOBC".

When you purchase a beverage package the 20% is added to the cost.  So the Classic is $59 per day if you purchase it you will be charged $70.80 per day, $59 +$11.80 gratuity.

If you receive the package as a perk then the gratuities are included, not extra.

I sure hope that is the case!  Thanks 🙂

It is not added on your account if you are on a drink pkg, already factored into the cost.  The 20% will be added to each drink if not in pkg or the difference of a drink, for example classic takes up 9.  If you order a drink for 12.  You would pay 3 x1.2=3.60

If you read the conditions of the drink packages it states the following.  How else can this be interpreted?

  5. Interesting to read on the Celebrity drink list that a service charge of 20% is added to each drink.  I thought that was part of the drink package when it is purchased (or a perk).  So every time I order a wine for $9, $1.80 is put on my account?  We recently had the drink package on a Princess cruise and no service fee was added after purchasing the package.

I signed up for this on my upcoming Hawaii cruise on the Eclipse. Booked at 20% off. I scheduled it for the last sea day. We have 5 consecutive sea days so I figured we will be looking for something to do! I have never done it but I’m very curious!

I had to reply to you Scottygirl - from one Scottygirl to another!!

I just got back from the Emerald, and they have Slice & Coffee and Cones at a single location as shown in the updated deck plans. Slice is adjacent to Coffee and Cones, but I didn't see anyone eating pizza a la mode. I had no problem getting milkshakes. However they did not have brewed coffee as in the International Café - they had coffee Americana instead if you wanted it.

Here is the current mini suite cabin and hallway.  The mini suite was pretty dated.  The hallway was equally dated but the public areas all looked fine.

  8. We just sailed on Emerald Princess and while I can't fault the staff, the food at the World Fresh Marketplace was not a patch on other cruise lines buffet selections.  We have loved the buffet on Royal Caribbean, Cunard and Celebrity but really struggled to put together a nice meal at the World Fresh.  Sure there was lettuce leaves, sunflower seeds, chopped this and that but where were the delicious hot selections?  It was all bits and pieces, no delicious curries or asian dishes.  If you want a sandwich or salad (to make yourself) then great but it really put me off ever sailing Princess again.

Thats extremely poor. How did you find the package?

We were only on a seven night cruise but if on a longer cruise I don't think we'd buy it.  Some days we drank more and others less but it was great to have to simply not have to worry about the cost of a drink.  We found we ordered the more expensive wines and cocktails etc plus could get Perrier water plus standard water whenever we wanted.  We did get a few coffees which were very good.

We just got off the emerald and had the PBP, I thought it was awesome and definitely worth the price. It basically covered everything we wanted to order, even Frappes at coffee and cones. As others have said, if the soda is needed for the drink you are ordering they will open a can. You just can’t order a can of soda on its own and take it with you. That wasn’t a problem for us though, plenty of included options!

We also just got off the Emerald (well a week ago) and my husband wanted a Malibu with diet Sprite.  No, the barman (at Crooners) said.  We only have that in a can and it's not included on the drink package.  I wish we had argued the point now after reading this.

  11. Those rooms you have shown would be perfect in my opinion!  You are far enough away from the lifts but close enough to easily access them.  We are in in a room right outside the lifts and while they are quiet, I can hear the damn ding of the lift bell constantly!  Thankfully not at night when everyone is in bed but this morning the dinging woke me and during the day when I choose to be in the cabin for quiet time I'm conscious of the ding of the elevators.  Small issue though and you would be further away so it shouldn't be a problem for you.

  12. We are on the Emerald Princess at the moment and I was amazed at the standard of formal attire at last night's formal night! There were way more tuxedos and gorgeous dresses than I can remember seeing on previous cruises.  My partner only wore a nice black shirt and black dress pants - no problem at all and he certainly looked well dressed.

We're on this one and the following 7 day.. 14 day.  For us, it shows it as having THREE formal nights for the 14 day itinerary.  I suspect that might mean only one on the first leg?  That would be the one on this thread.  I'm actually trying to determine when the 2 are on the next leg since the second sea day is the last day, and as Scotty mentioned, I don't think they ever do it on the last day(night.)  So, maybe there are 2 on the first leg after all?🤔

Are your itineraries indicating 2 formal nights or are you just thinking that every 7 day has 2 formal nights?

We have two formal nights listed on our 7 night cruise 🙂

Leaving on a 7 day cruise from Rome to Athens.  The cruise leaves on a Saturday and has one sea day , . Anyone know what nights of the cruise are two formal nights.

We are also on this cruise - definitely the first sea day (May 27th) will be a formal night and possibly Corfu?  It is never the last night and won't be Crete because sail way isn't until 10 pm.

You did this without getting permission from board members????

Haha - I didn't realise I needed permission 🙂  The ports we are not doing tours are ones where we will still get off the ship and explore the town etc.

Regarding the question if room service included drinks in the PBP - can you imagine the poor staff running back and forth bringing drinks to everyone?

@Scottygirl1 when do you cruise?  I decided to go with PBP for our cruise Jan 2020.  I like that I pay for it now and can cruise with peace of mind and save up the cash for other things likes massages on sea days.   Would be great if you could let us know how it worked out for you. Based on all the comments, I think it would be a value for me between the Pelligrinos, coffee, wine and spirits.

We cruise less than two weeks and have bought the package.  Yes, we have port days but we've been to some of them before so will not be doing massive excursions.  Our decision was based on the following:

Coffee plus two waters each  (for taking off the ship)

A couple of wines/beers in our room on our return.

    A pre-dinner cocktail/sail away drink

Two wines with dinner and perhaps a Peligrino.

A drink at the show followed by a Peligrino.

A cocktail after the show in Crooners or a port etc.

Going by the latest price lists this comes to well over the cost of the package.  It also means that we will choose more expensive wines (ie $11 a glass compared to $9 if paying as we go).  The cocktails I like are all priced at $9.50 and $10.

Obviously for a sea day there might be more coffees, some diet soda, more water plus an extra drink or two.  Even if we have a day where we only have a a wine with dinner and a cocktail or two it still evens out PLUS, as was said above, we don't have to consider the cost once on board - just relax.  On other bonus is that the price I have paid for the package has worked out at only $57pp with only 15% gratuity whereas onboard now it's 18% so that makes it even more cost effective for us!
