Nope, just anticipating the bean counters seeing all that potential revenue in the main theater.
Don't give them ideas...they read these boards don't they?
...I suspect it might be the one line they can't cross without seriously losing custom.
-
Perhaps it is just me but thing brings back memories of 80s computers...
Commodore or Atari of the Seas next?
I wonder if the time will come in future when they get sponsorship for ship names to increase income?
e.g. Fox of the Seas or Apple of the Seas

Our June 2018 cruise leaving from San Juan departs at 8:30 pm. We have never left this late before. Should we still be able to board before noon?

They will still get you off at the same time & you can board at normal times. Think we were on just after 11.
If like this year odd muster drill after a very rushed 1st night dinner...about the only minor negative I can think about the whole cruise.

Royal does not (yet) charge for shows on any ship.
The only ships with entertainment reservations are Oasis and Quantum class ships.
"Yet charge"
Do you know something?
-
It might be worth it for your wife but not yourself.
However; I assume you will possibly have sodas and speciality coffees plus bottles of water. This all adds up and can make it reasonable option for many.

It's as much a dedicated space on the Anthem as it is on the Harmony. Or any other space. Anything can be changed. The Seaview Cafe on the Radiance class ships is now various specialty restaurants.
Anything can be changed. That's a pretty meaningless statement.
Im only quoting pretty much what numerous Royal Caribbean press releases have said...Google it
Does it really matter they are both presumably fun?
-
Right. You DON'T know what Anthem is like.
On the Harmony, the Escape room is at the entrance to Adventure Ocean.
On the Anthem, the Escape room is next to the SeaPlex. It is not in the least bit temporary. It's there. It's fun.
As I said I "DON'T" know what it is like
However; I understand and have checked it isn't a dedicated space and can be removed easily although rarely is.
Not sure I said it wasn't real or fun :)

I like the concept but who has 1 hour to waste trying to figure an escape.

Quite a lot it seemed :D
It was full before muster on our cruise.
-
Thank you so much for the photos of the Escape Room - had no idea it was so elaborate. Looks like a fun way to spent an hour on a sea day - looking forward to trying it.
Actually the photos don't really do it justice. The are noises and lights going off everywhere. It is very impressive and well designed. Unfortunately my contribution was pretty poor...I can't concentrate in noisy environments:)
Don't know what Anthem is like as I think it shares the same space as some of the teen facilities and is more of a temporary structure.

You will easily get tickets once on board..just make sure you get on early and make it one of your first must-dos

A few pictures from when we did it. http://www.modernlifeisgood.com/2016/10/17/escape-rubicon-harmony-seas/
It isn't easy but it was fun...it also used to be free

For the Symphony, over the past 6 months or so, they continuously say "Test your vocal chords on a 10-story plunge. The tallest slide at sea returns with a new twist." What could the "new twist" be? it is stated on multiple media platforms in this same format. Also, on many postings, advertisements, etc. they state this same phrase: "
A NEW SCALE OF DARING Adventure hits a high note with a whole new challenge."
So.. "test your vocal cords" and "scale" (the Abyss has scales) and "high note" (screaming) all seem to flow.. but what is "daring"? could it be another thrill / adventure activity such as a freefall jump? (think Stratosphere). Or, is the Abyss a waterslide? or something totally different? Any guesses?

I wish they kept it as a one off gimmick...it has ruined the Boardwalk

Barbados Beach Hop...probably the best trip I have ever been on.
Hilarious, informative and rather tipsy experience :D
-
Ice Games is the one you have to book for.
How to Train a Dragon is pretty good though
-
Just to add we went on a multigenerational trip on Allure and those who doubted they would like(Grandad especially) have booked to go on Oasis next summer :D

We have recently sailed on Jewel with our 13 year old and 6 year old.
The 6 year old preferred Jewel to Allure/Harmony.
However; our 13 year old although she enjoyed it definitely preferred the bigger ships. The teen facilities are pretty small on Jewel. The were plenty of other teens just what was available wasn't quite as good.
Overall we loved Jewel; loads of bars and it a very pretty ship; but with the makeup of your party I would go for a bigger ship.
-
All the shows on Allure are worth going to. I would try and miss none of them
-
Always try and get near an elevator it is the only thing that makes me choose 1 cabin over another....much easier to bring drinks back to the cabin without dropping them :D
-
Took us a long time to get a taxi in Barcelona.
10:40 to me is too risky...although you will usually make it I suspect.
Personally I wouldn't book earlier than midday
-
Do you really think that? Trust me, RCI is not having a cash crunch. I think they are just trying some marketing tricks.
Why marketing tricks on someone who has already booked?
Seems pretty odd offer
-
Personally not something I would take anyone younger than teens.
It was a great tour when we did it on Allure.
On ours bit too much time with the enthusiastic laundry master....yes they are big washing machines but they are still just big machines :D
I think the tour has changed a little now but here is a few photos of our trip on Allure.

Were you on the May 3, 2010 - 12 night Med cruise with Villefranche being the first port? If not, we experienced the same thing returning from our Eze, Monaco & Nice tour. We were bused to Toulon port to join the ship at about 3:00 AM.
No it was in about 2001 with Thomson Cruises.
It was a really small ship, Topaz.
Not exactly sure where they took it but it was a really small town several miles away. The only transport they could get was this really, really slow tourist road train. They transported the whole ship over about 5 hours.
Villerfrance is a beautiful place and the weather was gorgeous...the was a lot worse places to be stranded :D
Once we were eventually, literally, thrown off the tender we pretty much landed in the restaurant for dinner....not quite the same set up as Harmony
-
IOS always seems to be the poor relation when it comes to upgrades.
-
1st time we went to Villerfrance(not RCCL) when we got back from our trip to Cannes the ship had gone
Long story....
Big swells and had to move.
Whole ship had to be transported over several hours on a Road/Noddy Train to next port.
We were then literally thrown on the ship from the tender....happy days :D
Jewel vs Adventure for Southern Caribbean?

Both would be great
Jewel slightly less guests and on small islands that is a positive.
