Imagine the chaos if dozens of people changed tier mid cruise……

People would suddenly have access to Wi-Fi that would have to be credited to their account.

Peoples cards would suddenly be credited with 4 daily drinks that they didn’t have before.

People would suddenly be allowed a bathrobe that would have to be delivered to their cabin.

People would suddenly be entitled to an amenity that they would have to select to be delivered to their cabin…..

    It wouldn’t work.

Dogs would be sleeping with cats!

Sorry, but the lesson he learned was

Work hard... Excel... Do your best...  Strive for perfection...

Understand that the corporation cares little for your excellence and is laughing all the way to the quarterly profit statements!

Yes, that's cynical but I care for kids who seek to be their best and deserve a better reward!  C'mon, this was a 13 year old.  Give me a keychain for winning trivia.  I don't care.  But don't take it out on the kids!  They are your future, RCCL.  Encourage them!

There was a fabulous singer/songwriter, Steve Goodman, who passed far too young. This is the second and third stanza from his incredible 1972 song, "The Lovin' of the Game." Give it a read and a listen.

All my life I ran around searching hard from town to town
But I never ever found anything to tie me down
Still I wouldn't trade my time for a solid diamond claim
No, I would not trade a fortune for the lovin' of the game

So long, darling, don't you cry, I hope that things pan out for you
All the good times going by, got to have ourselves a few
Where I'm going has no end, what I'm seeking has no name
No, the treasure's not the takin', it's the lovin' of the game
No, the treasure's not the takin', it's the lovin' of the game

He said it was the highlight of the cruise.

He won and was acknowledged in front of all the other participants.

    What else would/should you want?

Seems to be too trivial a matter for concern.

I just submitted a review for my Freedom of The Seas cruise. And, I have to say the toilet paper doubles as heavy-duty marine sandpaper. So, now you know you won't be surprised at the sandpaper shortages at your home improvement center. Carnival also uses sandpaper quality toilet paper. So, please be advised. If your crack back there (dark side of the moon) is sensitive bring hemorrhoid goo or another relief cream.

I meant Rizzo was the lead female role in the stage musical.  When the MOVIE version was cast, Stockard Channing did not have the star power of the marginally talented Olivia Newton-John so the show was rewritten to give ON-J a bigger role including adding new songs.  Hence the dreadful “Grease is the word” (a disco number for a 50’s show?!?) and “Hopelessly Devoted”.  Most people know the show from the movie and have never seen the original stage version which was the better of the two.  Still not great or family oriented but better.

I know Stockard Channing was not in the Broadway cast.

I get what you are saying now. I transposed "star power" to the wrong person.

Well, there is no “grease is the word” in the original.  A mediocre musical was reinvented in an infinitely worse version based on the movie with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.  Their characters were not the leads in the original show but Stockard Channing who played the ACTUAL female lead was deemed not a big enough star.  So they rewrote the show to feature N-J including changing the music to give her more to sing including Hopelessly Devoted 🤢 and You’re the One that I Love.  The show itself is about turning a nice girl into a slut to get a boyfriend and another hoping she isn’t pregnant because she puts out.  Nice family entertainment.

This is not how I recall the casting and I base this on knowing a Broadway cast member at the time.

Stockard Channing was not in the Broadway show.

Randee Heller (Soap, Karate Kid, Madmen) had the Broadway role of Rizzo at the time.

When the movie was being cast, it was determined that Randee did not have the star-power for the movie at that time. Stockard Channing was cast for the movie.

Unfortunate; Heller was a natural Rizzo.

I doubt anyone who lived in a tenement would compare a cruise ship to it.

Top floor (5) walk up at 153 East 104th Street in East Harlem was nothing like it. And I don't think the ship has the IRT running directly under it or a fire station and police station side-by-side 75 yards down the street!

The police precinct was the one they shot for "Coogan's Bluff" when Eastwood arrived by cab.
