  1. Good question. I checked these flights. The GSP flight does not have any more comfort plus seats. Its a 26 minute flight so we could stand economy. I think I will call them. My husband and I are on different tickets as we both used our miles. At least they have us together. I made these flight arrangements back in December. I realize Delta changes its flights but I do want to get to Athens! I wonder how long I will be on hold to reach a person. Thank you Flyer Talker.

  2. We are flying to Athens October 31 on Delta. Originally our flight left GSP at 7 am but it is now changed to 10 something. We have a little over an hour in Atlanta to get to our gate for our flight to JFK. That is close but if our GSP flight is ontime we should make it but no dilly dallying. We then have two hours at JFK to catch the flight to Athens. We are traveling in Premium Select for the last leg. Not sure if that makes a difference. Is there enough time to catch our flight to Athens? I know we will probably not have time for the restroom before we board. Since Delta made these changes, will they make changes even with an award ticket? I thought I had padded connection times but Delta schedule changed. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

  3. You are correct. On our November Sirena cruise we were able to book two of the expensive excursions. Also, pay attention to the number of excursions needed to get the 25% discount. We still have some $$$ left but have all the ports covered between Simply More and private tours. I would book the excursions you want sooner rather than later as everyone will be grabbing excursions so they may sell out. We had our TA book our excursions to make it easier. We had already booked some excursions and wanted them switched over. I could have done it but she made it less stressful. Enjoy your cruise.

  4. Question for Zach.

You recommend getting our tickets ahead of time. A couple of questions. Do both my husband and I need a separate account or can we just have one? If we both need accounts, can we use the same email address? Second, is there a way around having it on my phone? I am trying to avoid ATT's $10 a day fee to use my phone. We try not to use the phone unless connected to WIFI while we are away. Is there a problem just getting the ticket from the driver? We will have GBPs so would not need to use a CC.

    Thank you for your help.

  5. We are on Sirena Nov.13, 2023 and want to hear answers. According to the shore excursion the “tour” is scheduled from 8:45 until 6:45. I don’t know if this is the same for you as your excursions are not yet available. I do know the meeting point in Rome is the People’s Square. There is a train that many use but we have not done that. We are just wanting to go to the Coliseum and are having trouble with timing of tickets. We’ve seen the outside but want to see the inside! Perhaps your travel agent could help you.

  6. Question: is there a shoehorn in the cabin? Also, is there the large umbrella in the closet? These were standard before. Just checking.we will be on the Vista in August. Also, are the hairdryers the same and are they any good? Thank you.

  7. Thank your, Zach. We will get our tickets ahead of time. I will have to look into a runway room but we will probably sleep most of the time until we catch our transfer to Southampton. I'm glad my research skills were on the right track. Thanks again. I always appreciate your knowledgeable answers and kindness to those of us without extensive airline knowledge.

  8. VaniCream is for those with skin delicacies. My dermatologist recommended this brand for deodorant as I kept breaking out with others. This brand is not cheap and you have to order it online as it is not found in stores. I'm impressed that Oceania included this. As I said it is not cheap!

  9. I have searched to find the answer but my brain must be out for lunch today. We will be arriving on Virgin Atlantic from Atlanta about 8 am on Thursday August 17. I know we will need to go through immigration/passport control and collect luggage. I realize we probably will not get our room until much later. As long as there is a place to sit, we will deal with it. I have read that a taxi to the Renaissance will be super expensive and that we should take the Hoppa Bus. That's fine but how do we do that? This is what I found on the Heathrow website. Please correct me if I have something wrong. From the Arrivals exit baggage reclaim and go outside Terminal 3 Departures Level 0. The bus stops at 12 and 13.  Which one? The bus we need is H2C. We can purchase the ticket from the bus driver for 6 GBP each. Do we need exact change? Do they accept credit cards? How many stops to the Hotel and are the stops clearly marked? We only need to purchase one way. Do we need to tip the bus driver? Are these long walks? We are in our 70s and this will be after an all night flight. It is what it is but knowing what to expect is helpful.

Thank you for any help and suggestions.

  10. I just received my newGlobal Entry Card in the mail last week. I don’t remember the time frame but I know it was not that long ago perhaps 7 weeks. I received an email stating there were updates to my application. It went from conditional to approved in a little over a month. I got my new card after another 2 weeks. I just did my husband’s. Almost immediately he got a conditional approval for his renewal. I did mark that we would be traveling overseas and could do the interview upon arrival back into the US. I don’t know if that makes a difference. We will see how long my husband’s takes.

  11. If the stock is jointly owned, the Shareholder Benefit is divided for each. That is the way ours was credited. I got half and my husband for the other half.

Mine is listed as Gift Orders Complimentary Stateroom Shipboard Credit.

It is as clear as mud but as long as get the credit, how they account for it is fine with me.  I am sure they have their reasons for doing it the way they do. It just doesn't make total sense to some of us.

  12. Thank you.

if you have some future cruise credit for a cruise but not totally free, can you still get the shareholder credit? I’ve read the exceptions but I am confused thus the question. The cruise in question was booked several times but always cancelled due to pandemic. Thank you for all insight.

  13. Interesting. Ours is listed as GIFT and is below the promotional amenities. But the amount was correct. I was trying to differentiate from OBC that might be from our TA. Felt awkward asking her what is was. I’ll let it go for now. I think we have enough. This is the first time doing this so not totally sure how it is done. Thank you for you help.

  14. Thank you, JoePDX! That was exactly what I needed! I emailed my documents this am. I gave my TA a heads up like she told me to do. I then got a new invoice stating a gift to both my husband and me. Knowing they split the OBC was also helpful.By the way, it was after final payment. Am I also correct that if we got future cruise credit that we don’t get the extra OBC? I have another cruise after final payment that has history back to spring if 2020. Lots of cruises booked and cancelled. I don’t want to appear greedy if that nixes the deal.

just for the record, I emailed it this morning and had my OBC this afternoon!

  15. I sent our request for the shareholder benefit to be applied to our August cruise and November cruise both after final payment. But, my brain was not working and had to send it snail mail. I tried to send an email but the attachments showed no information. Thus the reason I sent it via mail. I have now figured out I could take a picture of the two documents. So, do I just wait and hope the mailed one works or do I send an email with photos of the two documents?

    Thank you.

  16. Thank you Hank and John Bull. I think your suggestions are great but my husband is not favorable to driving. He has driven in France before with no issues but that was10 years ago. Plus, I would have to listen to his displeasure doing so. I added up costs and ease. We would have to return the car to LeHavre as the drop off cost was around $300. We would need at least one and probably two nights in Bayeux as we would not get to Bayeux in time the day we disembark the ship.  All of this for two-3 days. Right now our thinking is to do the Road Scholar tour before the cruise. It ends in Paris. We may leave the tour early so we are in Lisbon the night before. We realize we could fly down the day of the cruise but that is not in our comfort zone. The tour hits all the major sights as well as sights in Paris. We have been pleased with their product.

    Thank you again.

  17. We will be on the Nautica next June and would like to see the Normandy beaches. The ship disembarks in Le Havre.  My question is logistics. We can do a Road Scholar tour that ends in Honfleur or Paris. We would leave one day early. No biggie--just wouldn't have the last lunch. This would be before the cruise and would need to get to Lisbon in order to pick up the cruise.  We saw that there are direct flights of under 3 hours. Or, we take the cruise first and then try to see the beaches from Le Havre afterwards. We would need transport to Bayeux, hotel for 2-3 nights and then make our way to CDG for flight home. I know there are trains but we will have luggage which makes it difficult. Possibly we could rent a car but not sure my husband wants to drive as we don't know how much traffic that would entail or how difficult the route is. I don't know how much a private transfer from LeHavre to Bayeux and then from Bayeux to CDG would be. I have found tours from Bayeux for under 500 euros for both of us.

Which would be easier? Taking the Road Scholar tour would probably be more expensive but I don't think that much more. We are getting to an age where we are starting to look at easier ways to accomplish travel.

    Thank you for all responses.
