Yes, I was on that ship too. They had just announced that we had passed the point of no return on the sailing. He jumped and was thrown the life ring buoy.

It took a while for the ship to stop and turn back but he was easily found with the tracker on the life buoy.

Hi Mary. Did you change your profile name? I'm thinking we were at the same table for dinner.

Someone posted on here a year or two ago that they had a jumper on a cruise ship they were on once. Multiple people saw him jump. Ship stopped, put in a lifeboat, and they pulled him out of the water...and he was ok.  For some reason, I thought that it was a cruise to Hawaii, but I could be wrong.

We were on that cruise. It was a 15 day from San Diego to Hawaii in 2012. He jumped around 1 PM from the Lido, so many people saw him. They took him to the hospital at our first HI port. I don't know how injured he was.

I liked it. It’s really expensive. Everything is at or close to special event prices.

The people were good. I never had any problems. Actually my first day when I wasn’t sure how to use things with the bus or subway someone stepped up and helped me without me asking for help. After that I was good.

Using the subway helped a lot. I can’t imagine what that bill would be like if I took Uber everywhere. For those who say they would walk, I walked 55 miles in addition to the subway/bus rides I took.

All the talk about beware of the subway. I think it’s overblown. It’s mostly normal people. And after that first night, I took the subway home at night. 11pm-1am. I didn’t mention those trips because I knew people would be telling me not to do it. It was fine. I only saw one seriously crazy guy harassing someone. Fortunately on the other side of the tracks. The guy just walked down further and sat down. He still screamed at him but never went down there.

Actually the one night I walked all the way back was the time someone offered me drugs. A guy coming out of Ray’s pizza. That never happened on the subway.

I never felt in danger anywhere.

Even with everything I did there are still things I didn’t get to like intrepid, tram to Roosevelt island, walk the Brooklyn bridge, dumbo at sunset, walk the entire high line, the library from ghostbusters. I didn’t touch any of the museums so there’s that. I didn’t do a harbor tour. I’d probably like to see yankee stadium and maybe go to one of their games.

Of course I want to see the Statue of Liberty but I’m holding out for when they re-open the crown. Then there will always be more Broadway shows. Hamilton for sure. I didn’t see all of Central Park.

I didn’t make a dent in my food list. I really thought I was going to be able to eat a bagel each day. A slice of pizza each day. A hotdog each day..And work in meals. Didn’t happen.

When I left L.A. I said I probably wouldn’t be back..unless I decide to tour a studio or something. I don’t know what else I would want to do there after the bus tour I took. But I will definitely be back to New York. Just a matter of timing since the cruises are mostly during the summer when prices are up or during football season where I can’t plan far ahead.

Since I still haven’t booked for next summer which is unusual at this point…return trips to NY or Seattle are possible next summer.

You did so much, I'm curious-what was your favorite play, food and site in NYC?

Thank you.  I checked the site referred above and it looks like it is $27 flat rate from the airport.  I'll try Uber, but if they are busy we will just shuttle back to the airport (staying at the Residence Inn at the airport so it is free) and catch a cab.  I'm sure that they will be lined up at arrivals.

You can book an Uber in advance (we have booked one the day before we wanted the ride). You don't have to wait until right before you are ready to go. That way you have a reservation and don't have to worry that they might be too busy.

Looking forward to reading it. We chatted to you in the Piano bar near the end of your cruise. My wife and I were the couple from near Cardiff.

We had a great time on the cruise, and loved the itinerary. We really liked the Pride, and the staff were all excellent. The guests were all exceptionally friendly, so there was a great atmosphere on board.

Like everyone, we were pretty startled by having to vacate our cabin by 6.15, but my wife helpfully left her phone on Norwegian time, so we got up at 5am UK time, and were outside the Normandie restaurant by 5.30 wondering why it wasn't yet open.

We didn't disembark until after 8, and the process was very smooth. The only issue was our car-parking service buses could barely cope with the numbers waiting for the shuttle bus, and we had to wait for well over half-an-hour. At least it wasn't raining, though.

Was there a big line to get off when you left the ship? We're trying to schedule transportation and want to know what time we need to start getting off the ship if pickup is 8.

We had to be out of our rooms by 06:15 and then there were three options:

    1. Self Assist which was between 5am-7:30am

    2. Early Disembarking: 07:30-08:00

    3. Late Disembarking: 08:00-08:30

We left our room at 6am, went to Lido for a coffee and a "goodbye" to the ship, then checked in on the app for MDR breakfast at 7, left the ship at 8am 🙂

I disembarked Carnival pride this morning about 8am. I picked a middle number for disembarkation but stayed slightly later to finish breakfast with a friend. As with every European and Norway cruise I have done there was no immigration or customs checks.  The ship staff scan your cruise card as you leave, you pick up your luggage in the terminal, and then just walk out. It make it all very quick.

I had my car at the port so cannot help regarding transfers.

    Best wishes, Stephen.

Was there a specific time they made you be off the ship today?

Our Doc stated the date of our first symptoms, date of positive test, and date we were deemed clear to travel.   Additionally, per the CDC, the document of recovery must include your name and date of birth.  The name should match your Passport or whatever travel document you are using.  It must be on the letterhead of the healthcare provider or public health facility and include the address and telephone number.   And it must be signed by the healthcare provider.

    Thank you!

I've read at least one post that says they boarded with just the positive test result.  I can't remember which thread.  I can tell you that when we boarded a couple weeks ago, the Carnival Doc definitely reviewed the letter along with the positive test result.  If we had not had it, IDK.

What information was on the letter? I know they say we don't need one, but I'd rather play it safe and have one.

I was on the May 14 Mardi Gras sailing and our social media site poll is trending at about 30 percent positive as well.

I was on that sailing and had no issues

On a social media site doing a poll a couple days after the May 14 cruise ended: out of about 170 votes 52 people said they were positive.
