  1. We are probably on the same sailing. It’s a Journeys cruise so I think they have extra stuff they offer. We just did the Panorama and it was packed, lots of kids, so I have a feeling this might not have as many. It’s also over Halloween so I assume there will be costumes that night. That should be fun.

  2. Carnival is cracking down on the ob credit for the casino rate cruises. The one we just took, which was a freebie, we got the credit. The one we booked for October we were told NO! I’m ok with that, since it’s costing us $15 a day for the cruise for the 2 of us….

Pre-Covid, with FTTF and at Galveston, we were allowed to walk in when we got to the port.  During our recent cruise in January (Long Beach on the Panorama), we had FTTF and a 10:30 boarding time.  We had to wait for the 10:30 time to be called, but there was a dedicated FTTF lane, and we walked directly to the check-in processing area.  After check-in, we were shown to a seating area near the platinums and boarded the ship after the diamonds, suites and platinums were called.  Then, because we had FTTF, #5 tags were delivered to our room with disembarkation instructions, so we were off the ship quickly.

Other ports may have different protocols for FTTF, and we will find out if the process is different in Galveston later this year.

    Happy cruising!

This was our experience 2 weeks ago, EXCEPT disembarking. Not sure what the hold up was but we didn’t get off until almost 11:00. They called the people carrying off first, by muster. If we had know it would take as long as it did we would have done that! 🤷‍♀️ glad our flight wasn’t until 4:30 but we had bought tickets to the aquarium and that was a waste.

  4. Yes, it’s been the last couple years they have been in the mailbox outside your room. I saw that video and I don’t understand how charges could have happened…. Especially at the casino. To add money to a machine you have to input month and year of birth. There is no way someone could have taken the cards and known that info. And your picture comes up on the screen when they swipe your card, so what are the odds they looked like that womans aunt?

  5. We are doing our first on the Venezia out of NYC (our first time there!) and our first time to Barbados, St Lucia, and Dominica. It’s a 12 day, was wondering about elegant nights, how many and what nights they will be on? And will there be different menus because it’s a Journeys 12 day? It also goes to St Thomas and St Maarten.

  6. My take is those people, and I don’t care if they work in the rooms, the restaurants, or clean around the ship, or wherever, are some of the most hardworking people I have ever seen. And all hours. I remember seeing a waiter we had at dinner cleaning tables at breakfast in the buffet the next morning. All they do is work! The gratuity is splits between all of them, not just given to your steward. Or your waiter. I always give extra to our steward, as they are who we interact the most with. We always have ATD so never have the same waiters so no extra tips there. I will NOT be removing anything! I just look at it as part of the cruise price. And shame shame shame on those who remove and don’t tip anything, or leave $20 and think they are good.

Thank you - good to know! We usually stay at Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express on West 48th so it's a quick walk. Sounds like I should just look at them again.

So it is walkable from the comfort inn to the cruise terminal? That’s where we reserved a room. I assume you can walk to Times Square also? We are flying in a couple days before.
