On Panorama last month we had FTTF and there was a worker kinda guarding the doors prior to 1:30. I showed him my boarding pass with the FTTF on it and he let us go back to drop off our bags. Rooms were ready at 1:30.

We cruised on Feb 18, ate at Cuncina first day at lunch, it was really good! Probably only 1/5 of the tables taken, very fast. Then we went down and had the funfetti cheesecake everyone raves about. yum!

Myself, I would go for the balcony. If the Terrazza area had a pool I would go for that, but it doesn’t.

I did NCL and Carnival Spirit last year to Alaska. They were both absolutely wonderful cruises, different but equal.

Carnival is cracking down on the ob credit for the casino rate cruises. The one we just took, which was a freebie, we got the credit. The one we booked for October we were told NO! I’m ok with that, since it’s costing us $15 a day for the cruise for the 2 of us….

Pre-Covid, with FTTF and at Galveston, we were allowed to walk in when we got to the port. During our recent cruise in January (Long Beach on the Panorama), we had FTTF and a 10:30 boarding time. We had to wait for the 10:30 time to be called, but there was a dedicated FTTF lane, and we walked directly to the check-in processing area. After check-in, we were shown to a seating area near the platinums and boarded the ship after the diamonds, suites and platinums were called. Then, because we had FTTF, #5 tags were delivered to our room with disembarkation instructions, so we were off the ship quickly.
Other ports may have different protocols for FTTF, and we will find out if the process is different in Galveston later this year.
Happy cruising!
This was our experience 2 weeks ago, EXCEPT disembarking. Not sure what the hold up was but we didn’t get off until almost 11:00. They called the people carrying off first, by muster. If we had know it would take as long as it did we would have done that! 🤷♀️ glad our flight wasn’t until 4:30 but we had bought tickets to the aquarium and that was a waste.

Yes, he was on our whole cruise. When we were heading towards Victoria he would keep an eye out and come over the loud speaker (well, the whole cruise, but that’s when I remember the most as I was listening for him in the room) and let us know where to look for wildlife. I think his name was Dan.

Yes, it’s been the last couple years they have been in the mailbox outside your room. I saw that video and I don’t understand how charges could have happened…. Especially at the casino. To add money to a machine you have to input month and year of birth. There is no way someone could have taken the cards and known that info. And your picture comes up on the screen when they swipe your card, so what are the odds they looked like that womans aunt?

Turning platinum on next cruise, and it’s a 12 day so I’m also wondering about the laundry. Specifically, how does it come back to you? Folded? Hanging ? How do you tip for it?

We are doing our first on the Venezia out of NYC (our first time there!) and our first time to Barbados, St Lucia, and Dominica. It’s a 12 day, was wondering about elegant nights, how many and what nights they will be on? And will there be different menus because it’s a Journeys 12 day? It also goes to St Thomas and St Maarten.

Ours was an interior room for the Oct - 12 day cruise, $100, back as OBC. Free drinks while playing. Couldn’t pass it up! 3 ports we haven’t been to. And haven’t been to nyc before so ex for that.

We booked the carnival 8am transfer to JFK for our 1pm flight. I think we should be ok? It says to make sure your flight is no earlier than 1:00. This will be on a Thursday.

I guess I’m a minority, I like it on the phone. I hate seeing all that paper waste. I just keep my phone in my pocket and pull it out to see what is happening. It’s that or carry a piece of paper? 🤔

I usually have several more vacations planned so I’m ok with it. 🤣🤣🤣

It cracks me up to see how people on ship treat the CDs like celebrities. I just got off Panorama and Marty was pretty good. I just enjoyed watching people fawn all over him. 🤣

There are things I miss but the 3 carnival cruises I have booked cost less altogether then the one week NCL I cruised last May….

My take is those people, and I don’t care if they work in the rooms, the restaurants, or clean around the ship, or wherever, are some of the most hardworking people I have ever seen. And all hours. I remember seeing a waiter we had at dinner cleaning tables at breakfast in the buffet the next morning. All they do is work! The gratuity is splits between all of them, not just given to your steward. Or your waiter. I always give extra to our steward, as they are who we interact the most with. We always have ATD so never have the same waiters so no extra tips there. I will NOT be removing anything! I just look at it as part of the cruise price. And shame shame shame on those who remove and don’t tip anything, or leave $20 and think they are good.

I’ve only given cash, in addition to regular grats. How many baseball hats can they want? I get maybe a wrapped candybar, but you gotta know cash is what they REALLY want.

Thank you - good to know! We usually stay at Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express on West 48th so it's a quick walk. Sounds like I should just look at them again.
So it is walkable from the comfort inn to the cruise terminal? That’s where we reserved a room. I assume you can walk to Times Square also? We are flying in a couple days before.

Thanks Scott. I did look on Google, just sometimes hard to tell if it’s sidewalked or not. 😊

We are probably on the same sailing. It’s a Journeys cruise so I think they have extra stuff they offer. We just did the Panorama and it was packed, lots of kids, so I have a feeling this might not have as many. It’s also over Halloween so I assume there will be costumes that night. That should be fun.
