  1. I only keep 2 or 3 on board bookings any more as I don't get the OBC because I book with the casino.

I only have to put down $100 pp. if I go solo, only $100 through the casino.

The only reason I keep two or three is sometimes it is better for me to use the solo supplement with the balcony discount.

In July, August, Christmas and New Years, I have to pay for two anyways.

I got a JS 5 night on NYE for $909 pp. incl. taxes. Anyone want to join me? Lol

If I subtract the discount for booking through the casino from my spending, I come out in the black.

If a price, drops (it has, except for NYE), sometimes I'll switch to The single supplement with my balcony discount and the booking on board OBC, before final payment.

Since I know the ships that I go on, I make sure and book one for that ship so all I'm doing is changing the sail & date one time.

    So far so good.

  2. I took that risk of cruising with someone I didn't know very well about 8 years ago.

I live near Port Canaveral and he came over to meet me. He is 15 years older than I and we ended up going on over 15 cruises together. He did his thing, I did mine.

My adult daughter was not a happy camper the first time we cruised.

Being a teacher of 28 years, I've met parents from all walks of life.

I'm a pretty good judge of character.

We always got a balcony except the Bahamas because I scuba dive and need to dry my gear.

I searched the web and found a few sites that help mates for cruising or traveling.

I travel solo now as he has a girlfriend.

Even though the Oasis class is my least favorite ship, one day I'll go on it again in a GS or higher.

  3. I get double points all the time. I can't get my 150% supplement price during certain times.

I put a name in there, person is a no show, I get the taxes back for the second person AND I get double points, triple if in a JS.

Once in awhile, I do have to call for my double points.

This year, I booked a NYE cruise and put a name in.

Since I have to pay for Two people, I called Club Royale.

I was happy to get a JS for 2 people for $2073.

I will get $85.78 taxes back for the second person.

If someone can go, great, if not, no problem.

It is only a 5 night cruise, but I will get 15 points.

I think of it as $/pts.

So....... Less than $133 per point.

The Enchantment GS (9) points is way more..... $200 per point.

This cruise, Club Royale couldn't beat my single supplement rate.

I wish they would change the rules for Club Royale and the single supplement.

Royal would love to have more solo D+ with over 350 points gambling in the casino.

There are some, but not many.

  4. In Costa Maya, dive with Gypsea Divers.

You get on the small boat from the beach.

You can spend time with your wife between dives and after the dives.

Cash only. Last time in April it cost $85, but I bring my own gear.

Royal isn't using Anthony's Keys anymore.

I forgot the new one, but I like it much better!!

In Cozumel, I dive only with Aldora.

In between dives, we go to this beach resort where we buy lunch.

You could ask them to do one dive and then join your wife for the rest of the day, or ask to be dropped off there after the 2nd dive.

Aldora's cost a little more, but totally worth it.

Steel tanks maxed out at 3500 psi.

Sometimes I'm lucky and everyone is nitrox certified, so we can stay down a long time on the 2nd dive.

All my dives have been way over an hour.

You would need to ask them the resort name. Your wife would take a taxi.

They would need to know in advance to see if the could accommodate you.

    Excellent dive operation.

  5. Anyone just off the Enchantment that can verify the cost on board is $125?

On the pre planner it is $100.

Also it says TWO floating mats, but we have 3 people.

Do suite guests get floating mats for free on Coco Cay as an amenity?

Does the suite buffet by the cabanas still serve steak?

The suite buffet on Labadee had steak and grilled lobster.

  6. I live in Florida and only need trip insurance for if I get sick and can't go or my car breaks down on the way to the port.

I've looked at insure my trip but I can't find just a basic one.

I don't need the medical insurance as I have a yearly one for trips.

I normally don't get trip cancellation insurance because the price of the cruise is minimal.

I'm in a grand suite solo so I wouldn't want to lose that amount of money.

Are there any companies out there that let you build your own policy?

    Any specific companies for recommendations?

    Thanks

Did you get a D1 aft? I gave it up for a D2 closer to the CL and it saved me big time.

  8. The independence on January 4 was oversold.

I didn't have a guarantee cabin, but living in Florida, got me the offer.

I received an email from my TA with three or four offers and I said nope! Free cruise, only port charges and taxes.

Came back a day later and offered free cruise for nine nights on the navigator of the seas.

    No OBC offered.

I said Yep! Same cabin type.

Glad I went. Learned don't do Aruba in January.

Residents told me it often rains, and is not warm like the summer.

Water was cold for scuba diving and then no warmth between dives.

I was told I would like it better when it is warmer and less chance of rain.

I was told the water temperature doesn't get very much warmer though.

    Met Nadja in the CL.

She spoke to everyone and treated all who had a key to open the door the same!!!!

  9. There's no difference between the perks offered by CL and DL, just who has access.

The Suite Lounge on Oasis class adds free soda and selected wines and beers from 11am to 11pm.

I think the concierge in the CL can do more.

He/she has the key to bypass all the floors on the ship to deck 1 to get off the ship.

Also no waiting in line for self-departure, wait in CL then when ship is cleared, zip zip, you are one of the first off.

Can the concierge in the DL fix incorrect sea pass charges without going to guest services?
