  1. I had to go back and read my Legend review from 9/12-cabin 4197. All previous reviews of this cabin, was that it had a straight shot view. It did not. But I loved the fact that we could open the door, hang our head out and look down to see the harbor pilots board and unboard. I did remark in my review that it was a great cabin because of location, no noise, near the elvators, and stairs to the dining room. We figured that since the only time we were in the cabin was to sleep and change clothes, we could save money and not get a balcony. We are smokers and the only place to smoke was the balcony or up on the Lido deck, and the music was always way too loud on the lido deck-and I think my DH would have loved reconsidering getting a balcony in hind sight, but for the price? I would do it again in a heart beat, we need to quit smoking anyway.;)

  2. Surprised this hasn't been moved yet, but we snorkeled Goff's Cay several years ago, over touristed, no fish, but what an island-paradise! You will see this island when you snake in and out of the channel, on your way out, it's the last island-end of the world, pure earthsea. See if Carnival is doing any tours back to goff Cay-but I have read about your excurison-and it sounds great. Our last trip to Belize, we toured on our own the city of Belize to the Museum of Art and History. would I do it again? No, even my big strong DH said, it was too much. POor country lots of begging, bartering, and very very hot.

  3. omg, i was nailed in the first post, second, third, fourth and 5th. etc I need a meeting. you know you are addicted to Carnival cruising, and CC, when you have painted your CC avatar name on your suitcase, . You are on Carnival web sites planning a cruise, when you have ZERO in the bank, and nothing to use for a down payment. I would say it's embaressing, but you all understand. Oh and I did meet my BFF on CC, but didn't know it would be so until after the cruise....LOL.

  4. Well it took three days, with many interuptions, and work, but I finally got to the end-and you say there is more to come! There is at least your last day at sea, but I see you have been busy writing other reviews, so I am waitiing patiently. I am so sorry that they switched my cruise out of Mobile, as these would have been my shore excursions (well I don't drink but I am hoping they would let me eat my way across cozumel). So thanks for the wonderful pictures, and story line.

Have you done Chichen Itza and chose Uxmal for something new? Or do you prefer Uxmal over the other sites in the Yucatan? I know that these pics will get the DH excited about going there, but which to choose it it's your only chance to go? Love the review, and your food porn gets me through the late shift at work, so hugs to you on that.:)

  5. So sweet about the purse-I loved your review, wondering where it was -hadn'tt seen a Fascination review in a while, and thanks for the Funtimes-I printed out the first day at sea, so my newbies can get an idea of what goes on. DH is hoping the Beatles trivia is still going on.:D

I spent a week a long time ago in Nassau out on Paradise Island before the Atlantis-had a great week, did nothing but play in the water and drink. And that was a long long time ago. Nassau itself is all about the "sale", but if you can get away from downtown, and you want clean clear water, and that is the goal, then I loe Nassau=Blackbeards Cay, Blue Lagoon, the Sheritan (by far my favorite so far). When we were in Key West back in 12/10, I think the only thing the town people sold were sweat shirts! It was so cold the first night on the ship, they gave us all double blankets. brrrrrr. Thank you for the review.

  6. We sailed the Legend twice, and loved her, too bad. Maybe they will get another ship into Tampa that will sail to Progresso and Calica, and really do the Cancun area, not just Cozumel. Dont get me wrong I love Cozumel, but will love to see some ruins without driving to NO. Maybe they will bring a Costa ship over here, they were built along the same lines. (oh, a pun)

  7. I loved this island for the sand and the water. I think the hot tub idea makes it sound like day at a love hotel in the poconos. But it's HAL's island to do with what it pleases-I wish that Carnival would just buy an island for their own use, instead of borrowing everyone elses. The key to all of this is, that the island must be reachable by another island that houses the employees. HMC did have housing on it, so that staff would stay on, so Carnival just needs to find a private island, with a nice beach, some hills and history, and place to tender to, provide activities, but leave it as natural as possible and everyone would be happy.

  8. We did Goff's Caye in 2010, and will be remembered by me as the most beautiful tiny island in the world. It was very choppy when we went, there were too many people in the snorkeling group, and we saw very few fish-but afterwards, when we could just sit out on our own, it was truly wonderful. We booked through our ship, they picked us up from the ship, and took us back to the ship, and we did not have to go into port at all. Enjoy-hopefully the reef has built itself back up since we went. Best snorkeing I have had- was on my own at El Cid in Cozumel.;)

  9. To get to the jitney-last time, we got off the ship, went through the port building, and turned left, went to the end of the dock area (straw market)-i think there was a senior frogs, and then went one block to the left, up one more block turned left and there they were-and these are short blocks. We loved the Sheritan, but we didn't eat or drink there, just used the pools and the beach.

  10. Just re read the last two pages-you can get on your soapbox anytime-it was right on!

Cruise Critic Port information does list a day pass at the Marriot in Grand Cayman, so I contacted them knowing that sometimes prices change-and I am glad they did-they no longer offer the day pass. To who ever had the 14 mo old child and wanted a hotel-you would really have to book a room for one night on 7 mile beach to get that kind of situation you are looking for. The Bahamas Sheritan offers a room for the day, but not Grand Cayman, they want your money.

If you are looking for Rendevous Cay, it is listed as one of the snorkeling adventures. You do not go into Belize at all. You are picked up from the ship by a boat, and taken directly to the island. We did this type of adventure when Carnival went to Goff's Caye, so we never saw Belize at all. But knew we were helping their economy by doing an excursion on a cay. And you did not have to snorkel once you got to the island, if you wanted to lay out on the beach you could. Since there is no beach on the mainland this really is the safest way to go.

    Summer, thanks again. Cruise Happy:)

  11. I was so proud of your son going to the MDR for dinner on his own. I am sure the waiters made him feel very special. I also understand the break down, and I hate to say it, but it reminded me of me when I get hungry and nervous about something (especially crowds, traveling, and trying anything new)which is why I plan everything to a T and ask a thousand questions. :)

Thank you so much for the review, I will miss you. If you happen to find any more of the 1300 pictures, please post them! A big hug to you and your family, from marshhawk and Catmando.:D
