No it’s always quoted at the full rate hence why three free nights often aren’t worth anything when you come to get quotes. Sometimes on 7 night cruises they are or on itineraries where prices don’t drop - you have to always get thing’s priced two ways with and without using free nights to make your decision

agree - I didn't use my 4 free nights as the trips I was interested in were cheaper to pay £ and get whatever benefits were in offer when comparison done

Used 6 free nights on a 7 night cruise

In general, your understanding of the free nights scheme is correct. The example I referred to was an onboard booking using the the most frequently booked cabin category and sent to Miami for approval. The next day, the future cruise person contacted the guests to say that Miami had suggested that for X pounds more they could have a club world suite.

This was not a trivial amount, but when averaged over the seven nights it allowed them an enhanced experience they could not otherwise afford under normal pricing.

I was unfortunately not given any option even when I asked if possible..would have taken a CC suite as plenty available and still had a load of FCC (which I have since tried unsuccessfully to use....another thread!) Guess it helps to know what is actually possible for future reference to challenge.

The price is adjusted accordingly in relation to your normal cabin category. I am aware of someone using 6 free nights on a 7 night cruise. Their usual cabin category was veranda or below but the difference in paying full rate for one night (adjusted accordingly, I.e more) meant it was a terrific deal for them to book an available owners suite.

It depends very much on  cabin availability, the number of free nights used and the length of the cruise.

mine was similar situation...6 free nights for 7 night cruise and plenty suites available but was told I could not have one as the majority of my trips had been veranda so could only book veranda...and since they were sold out I needed to move 'down' not 'up'....inconsistent.

  4. there is some inconsistency with some of the information onboard. I was using free nights on an onboard booking...my past trips had been 90% veranda and 10% cc suite. Verandas were sold out for the cruise I was booking and was told I could not have cc suite and could only have oceanview....whilst on that trip I found someone that had used their free nights for owners suite when all their previous trips had been lower cabin type. (there were others that posted same on thread on here)...I would not have booked Owners cabin myself but would have taken a cc suite....guess it is the 'luck' of who you have onboard.

I just looked at the schedules and all Azamara ships are in Kotor on the 5th October.  🙂 That is something special.

they will be in Koper (not Kotor) on 5th October....they did the same last October...some lovely pics on this thread

Jane Starr, you are looking at an EXCURSION that is being offered to the mall and perhaps Azamara should have used the word deplaning instead of debarkation.  I think this is being offered to give passengers something to do if they arrive early and have to wait  to board the ship.

more likely it is listed under the wrong cruise and should be listed under the trip before. (It would not make sense for passengers to turn up at the port 08:45 to end up at the airport then need to make their own way to the ship)

I have never sailed Celebrity, our cruise in March was on Azamara Onward , we were so pleased to sail Azamara again we are now booked on Journey depart next Saturday.

the points will stay as 0 for your March cruise on the Celebrity site for that trip then...when you mentioned 'yet' I thought you were expecting to get Celebrity Club points for the trip which, as it was after 1st Feb, you won't...not sure how much longer they will capture the bookings, I was surprised to see them on my account but assume that it was because they were booked before the breakaway.

If you also have a Celebrity account you can login and see all your points.

I have just done so and they are all there except our last one in March which does show the booking but no points (yet).

was your March cruise Celebrity or Azamara?

My Azamara Feb and March trips show on my Celebrity account as 0 club points and "Sailing not eligible to earn Club Points" which would be correct as they were after 1st Feb 23.

My Celebrity history does not list my 2010 or 2012 Azamara trips but the points are included in the total.

I guess I am in a better position than some with correct membership number and status showing...'just' missing about 250 points....not yet filled in the form...waiting for it to be magically be fixed (suspect I will end up filling the form in!)

  9. update - got a message yesterday lunchtime that it had been passed (again) to FCC team for the credit to be applied immediately...5+ hours later still nothing so called and canned the booking as nothing would be happening today and I had no confidence that Monday would bring anything different.

I spoke to three different agents over three days and each one was very helpful and tried their best to move this forward but was out of their remit to resolve. (must be very frustrating for them)

This FCC was the residual of a larger amount, had no issues using the initial part but guess the problem is around the changeover...email was sent to me from RCCL email address beginning February this year and the credit now appears to be 'lost' / can't be found in the system.

Last hope will be to see whether they will extend the expiry if/when they find it!

  10. Got through to agent yesterday after 2 hours on hold....call took 1.5 hours and was placed on hold many times and in the end they could not help and advised to send an urgent email to UK customer services...which I have done and got the usual auto response can take 28 days for response.

I will give it till later today and if not resolved will get them to remove the hold....don't want to be told on Monday that they have sorted it when I will not be able to get to Barcelona in time...flight options are disappearing and non-stop option is 06:45am Monday or connecting flights (later Monday flight and Tues am flight now sold out)

Starting to think this is a lose lose situation...I lose my £1500 FCC (this was only option to use it before expiry) and they lose the additional I would have been paying on top. Not sure I want to add an extra few hundred adding on a potentially wasted trip to Barcelona (return flights and a hotel now showing just under £900)

Unfortunately I held off booking the last couple of months as thought things would settle down and there were others with more immediate requirements...then ended up with some hospital tests which turned out to be all ok and got the good to go early in the week.

Have had 10 fabulous Azamara trips in the last 18 months, I know everything would be wonderful onboard but this one sadly may not happen.

  11. Having some FCC expiring at end of next month, I decided to make a late booking for Pursuit 30th May. Spent a couple of hours on hold on Wednesday before opting for the call back and getting called a few hours later from a very helpful agent.

Booking made but not able to apply FCC whilst on call (I was put on hold whilst they tried to sort) so had been sent marked urgent and booking held with nothing paid (there will be a balance due after FCC)

Still no update on FCC and online still shows full cruise amount due.

Booking has been held till Monday however ship sails Tuesday and I would fly out Monday (not even booked flight yet)

Not sure what other's experience of getting FCC applied and what suggestions you may have regarding next steps...currently listening to hold music. 'Contact us' shows they take calls on Saturdays but do the back office that deal with FCC work Saturdays?

My gut tells me that this needs to be sorted today if I am going to travel.

We are sailing on the Onward in 2 1/2 weeks.  Coming from the US, I was wondering if I need power adapters and if so, what kind?  Also, did past guests like their shampoo and conditioner or did you bring your own?  Thank you!

Onward has US, EU and UK sockets in the cabin together with USBs under the bedside lights

I think the date is the departure date of the cruise. The port listed is where the Azamara Celebration being held, which is not on the departure date.

that makes sense,,,,teaches me not to type when tired....(I do know previously the Jan/Feb Onwards on a similar list were in the wrong geography)

  14. not sure I would use that event calendar as definitive (possibly produced before a lot of itinerary changes)

    Looking at upcoming Pursuit events

5/30/23 Bilbao.....ship departing Barcelona 5pm so will be at sea

6/13/23 Belfast...ship is overnight in Dublin

6/24/23 Tromso, Norway...ship will be in Southampton

  15. Pre-website change I used to receive Azamara emails. I reset password and can log into account (status correct but points are wrong but I have not reported yet as waiting to see what happens in June) have updated communication preferences 4 times now but have not received any email communication since the password reset one on 31st March....I come on here to find out what comms are going out!

I think it would be a very bad business decision to penalise guests who can’t use FCCs due to the current debacle

I have been holding off booking until things settled down....of course that has not happened. (thinking I would let them prioritise with more immediate requirements) Given the trip I am looking at is 30th this month I only really have next week to get booked....next decent priced deal I have seen for solo is not till October.

  17. I had a bad experience with a price drop during Cruise with Confidence. Was given completely wrong information and was told I needed to fill in best price guarantee form on website - despite it saying this was NOT for Cruise with Confidence and you were to call. Called back again and got the same person who said the website was wrong and "I've already told you...." (the bpg on website allowed you select location as US or Canada so could not proceed anyway) wrote complaint to customer relations and asked them to listen to the call recording. (never heard back)

Ended up calling next day and got someone different, sorted no problem in minutes.

It was the last time I made a direct booking.

Problem I have now is that I will potentially be making a late booking with FCC and concerned my agent may not want to go through the pain of dealing with them (FCC expires end of next month and prices have jumped so much there is only really one trip that makes sense to book as a solo traveller)
