This may be a redundant inquiry or may have been addressed in another place. My understanding was that most of the cruise lines, at least in their safety protocols, required passengers to be vaccinated. That to me means the first and follow-up shots. However, I see statements that seem to indicate a need for booster shots after 180 days. In their latest statements It doesn't seem that Princess is calling for booster shots at all. Since we are planning on using cruise credit for a Princess Caribbean cruise in November, which would be past the 180 days, are we expected to get booster shots? I'm hoping not as I am done with these vaccinations. Put ourselves at risk with the original shots so that we could travel. But, never again while reading all of the side affects caused by them. 🤔

It's 270 days prior to the end of your cruise. Then you need a booster. If you have had a booster, that's enough, regardless of time elapsed. No requirement for a subsequent booster.

Am I reading this right?  We are sailing on Friday 12th,  I have tests booked at Lloyds Chemists but already have had two locations cancelled as they have now pharmasists  being available to carry out the tests. One of the stores actually closed because they had no pharmasist at the weekend,  I have booked another instore test but no gaurantee they will have someone onsite to test until the time!

    Nightmare.

Are you saying I now need not bother?

    I can self test?

Yes, you can. Are you sailing from Southampton? If so, that's all you need.

I have also written in hot breakfast items like ham & cheese omelets, hash browns, bacon, sausage, etc. on the door tag and they arrive just as requested.  Although you don't have to, but we do tip extra when we ask for things that are not even offered on the menu.

Yes. Write in your special requests. I don't understand the point of the additional tip. I 'm sure the delivery person has nothing to do with the preparation of the breakfast.

Has anyone ever had OBC that was designated as "Travel Agent Grp Promotion*"?

If so was it used for only a tour or did just used otherwise like for drinks or specialty dining?

That just explains where the OBC originated. It has no bearing on how it can be spent. You can spend it just like any other OBC.

I have to admit...when I saw the title of this thread ("Can you change person in cabin") I thought maybe Princess was introducing some kind of new magic act...

Maybe someone is "transitioning." It's all the rage now.

I did a chat with Princess and it can't be used for anything other than cruise fare.  It will NOT be refunded at expiration date.

ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. See posts 13 and 14. 13 shows a Princess Notice detailing how FCC can be used. 14 shows how another passenger was able to spend his. cashValue FCC will be refunded. Goodwill FCC is "use or lose."

Ask them if you can use it for OBC, shore excursions or the like.  HAL has been allowing that with their most recent cancellations in Alaska.   Better than nothing🤷🏻‍♀️

Princess several weeks ago eased the restrictions on how FCC could be used. Now includes sharing with others in your cabin, EZ Air, port fees and taxes. I suspect Shore excursions and Plus/Premium packages may be included. The aim was to make it easier for guests to use their FCC. Originally, FCC could only be used for Cruise Fare..

several of the august voyages were similarly "blocked" a week ago, now they appear open and the two voyages on either side of the drydock are blocked.  A RT vancouver coastal and the hawaii voyage.  Hrm...

Maybe they are planning a more extensive dry dock visit. That could be a good sign for the Nov 9 S. Pacific 28-dayer. I've been looking at that one, but was concerned about Crown for such an extended trip. I noticed last night that the cruise was "Currently not Available.)

We used it all the time for my dad before he passed.  They offer in for embarkation as well but we have found that sometimes you have to wait for that if you are trying to board in the first group as there are a limited number of "pushers".

My wife has limited mobility, so uses wheelchair assistance.Agree with everything said above. On embarkation, just tell the "line monitor" you need a wheelchair. You will be tole where to sit to wait for assistance. Yes, there is sometimes a bit of a wait. For disembarkation, the documents you receive will include insrtructions on when and where to go for wheelchair assistance. Usually off the atrium, probably at Vines. No need to pre-arrange either.

I've just discovered that Princess require another Covid booster if our last one was more than 270 days before the cruise.  Here in the UK we cannot get another booster until later in the year so what are we supposed to do?  Has anyone had confirmation from Princess that this IS a requirement?  How are others meeting this?

You've confused two situations. You only need one booster, regardless of time elapsed. The 270 days refers to the original Full vaccination, be it one jab or two. If it is more than 270 days from your last dose, you need a booster. If you have had a booster (any booster) you are covered as far as Princess requirements are concerned. We received our two jabs in Feb and March, 2021. We had a booster in Nov, 2021. We are good to go under the current scenario. (Cruising in late August and mid December.)

My wife and I are  older [70-80] and we would like to book a TA cruise  in the Spring of 2023 [Oceania or Celebrity or Holland America;  Florida to  the Netherlands or the Med.] .  However, we can’t nail down a flight itinerary to return home to Cincinnati because we are unable book anything for early May 2023 [our time to return home] this far in advance.  Additionally we are not in a position to “leave it to chance” what the flight arrangements could be..   So we’re in a conundrum. If we book a cruise, Oceania at least, wants a $3,000 deposit , which we would have at risk, to say nothing of other pre-payments, before we could confirm flight arrangement, and our possible future claim for canceling being “unacceptable flights”, isn’t going to be in insurable unless we could find some esoteric insurance that would likely be too pricey for us.  Any thoughts?

Book your air arrangements with the cruise line. They will coordinate flights with your cruise. In the event of cancellation of the cruise, by you or the cruise line, they will cancel the flights at no cost to you. Also, they often have better pricing, especially for one-way flights such as your TA. If you book the OLife option with Oceania you may get free air or a credit toward the airfare. Give them a call. It should give you peace of mind.

  12. In the past, there have sometimes been an Italian Night, Mexican Night, etc. with special items appropriate to the theme. I don't recall it ever being listed in the Patter. Now, with the menus available on the stateroom tv, I would search for menu under the Buffet listing.

I read an article today about Alaska cruises in jeopardy for the 2022 season because of Canada's strict covid rules. does anyone else hear or have any info about this?

Look for the date of the article. I have gotten confused at times because an older article pops up, and I'm thinking it is current. That being said, if Canada'a restrictions are not relaxed from last year's, I would expect Alaska sailings to resume in May under the same guidance as was applied in 2021. Don't expect Alaska to be a "no sail" for 2022.

On second thought, maybe we should remember, Alaska is only 55 miles from Russia. Hmmm.

  14. We were on Regal Princess two weeks ago. Our scheduled Jan 3 port call at San Juan was cancelled a couple days earlier and replaced with St Thomas. Regal was scheduled to call again next week, but that has also been cancelled. Friends were to go on RCCL Symphony of the Seas in early Feb. Their San Juan call has been cancelled as well.

Booked my EZ Air almost as immediately as I could.  Flying Business, booked, selected seats,  received  my Princess confirmation, record locator (airline confirmation),  Done.

Checked our flight prices with airline before I booked thru Princess.  Princess was better deal and includes transfers.  Have returned to check prices occasionally with airline and Princess and from time of booking, the air has gone up an additional staggering $1348.40!!!!!!!!!

Booking thru Princess means you also do not  pay for air until final payment of entire trip.  If you book your air independently, then you have to pay the airline then and there!

Have used Cruise lines air reservation system 6 times and love it.

I don't believe transfers are included. I had to pay for transfers

in Athens flying in to board the Majestic.

Checking two saved 7 day cruises and Plus is $47 pp pd more than Saver. It has always been $40. There is $50 OBC for Plus so effectively $40 per day. I just find it strange that Princess would do this - I thought they were fixed on the $40 model.

I saw the same. If you look again, the Saver rate also has the $50 OBC. It's just not highlighted in the header.

I think she told you wrong!!! Wife and I are doing b2b2b2b...starting oct 27th.

we have the  first staterooms together then move two the last stateroom

The original ban on B2B cruises came from the CDC's original Conditional Sailing Order. That was only valid thru Oct 31. Since your second leg doesn't begin until November, your case was never in violation.

But if you are seated with others the courses are served at the speed of the slowest eater.

I would have hoped that by specifying slow, medium, fast that a group put together by Princess would have all checked the same speed.

That is a phenomena which I call the "Lowest Common Denominator." Example: In my day high school did not offer Advanced Placement courses. So we were all in class together, and couldn't move on in a subject until the last person "got it"  (was up to speed)
