    Wow. A little defensive?

We've been buying bottles and have no problem with that but selection is limited. Wines by the glass for purchase or with the ultimate package max out are about a $12 bottle of wine at home. They’re fine but; bleh.

We’d love to try Cunard and will when the schedule and itinerary match up. We just expected more and are happy to pay for it. Our feeling is they don’t have room onboard for a lot of wine when they’re pouring 120 bottles of the daily.

I’m simply sharing our experience. To each their own.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

I agree about the $12 a bottle with the Ultimate....I had thought about getting the Ultimate for my DW but may just but bottles...Thanks for your postings.

What did everyone think of the old Celebrity Mercury, now named Mein Schaffer’s Herz?

I can still see the Celebrity lines.    The balconies were added by Celebrity during a refit drydock.   I remember we had a very deep balcony but at least they added balconies.   Guess the Galaxy became another Mein Schaffer’s.

    Celebrity Galaxy is Mein Schiff..

Can I just check the date of the cruise? Do you really mean 2020? If so I’m surprised you were eligible to bid as they don’t usually set up the bidding process any earlier than 90 days before the cruise.

    Ooops....Sorry 2019🙄

There is a hotel located right at the airport called the Wyndham Costa Del Sol with direct access to the airport. You can walk to the departures area. It is a business hotel, clean with spa and pool but I wouldn't recommend it for more than 1 night. Spent 1 night at the hotel prior to our excursion to Machu Picchu.

There is no night life as the area is industrial so you will be hotel-bound. However, you can easily make your 6:30 am flight as it takes taxi travel off the table. Travel by car in Lima is very exciting with lights, signals and signs being suggestions.

If you are spending more than 1 night, then I would recommend the Miraflores or Barranco districts. Those are probably the two best districts for tourists.

I will put in a shameless plug for a hotel in the Barranco called Hotel B, a  Relais et Chateau hotel. It has excellent food and ambience, but may be a bit high end.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for your input...

Are you willing to share some of the itineraries you're finding these prices on?  We haven't made any travel plans for next year yet  🙂

I found this will looking at Pursuit in South America   .....  It appears that the rate is available for all Pursuit sailings from Nov to March 2020 except Jan 5, 2020  ...  I booked the 21 day on March 2, 2020...

Closed user rates are specially negotiated rates with Azamara travel partners and AFAIK, being so deeply discounted, do not qualify for any other promotions which I'm guessing includes b2b OBC. The only time I've come across this personally is if I've decided to stay on the ship for the following cruise under the Azamara continue sailing program. They don't qualify for b2b OBC either. These fares are discounted too, but sadly not as deeply as they used to be.

Interesting..Nice to see something is still around..

  10. I've been looking some  Azamara cruise's and have been coming up with this code and some great rates on a few websites....Looks like a last minute clearance rate but the cruises are for next spring...Looking at the restrictions it would appear that this is a code that would not give you B2B credits etc..   Anybody ever run across this code?

  11. Just upgraded to a aft veranda cabin for South America on Pursuit for March 2, 2020 ...Don't worry it was almost free; well worth it for 21 days and aft cabin...

    Complimentary in-room spirits ?  4 - 500ml bottles  of spirits ?   I assume it's just a 1 time at sailing (no refills)

One night of complimentary specialty dining for two, each seven days...I assume we need to make reservations at start of cruise for all 3 nights...?

Discoverer LCV so not much else.....    Thanks for any input
